Interesting, but true.

Does the Constitution limit the power of the Federal Government?

As old Lysander taught us: “It’s just GD peive of paper”. Oh no, that was one of the many “presidents”. Spooner pointed out how the Consititution is of “no effect”.

Now the American People can apply “market discipline” to the Brit. If he’s anathema to the American Public, (think Jane Fonda’s ability to take a lover at Vetran’s convention — not very likely if she was the last woman on Earth!), then maybe he’ll understand the role of being a guest in someone  else’s country. Didn’t the Brits forbid Michael Savage from goign to London to speak?

But we know the Constitution is powerless to reign the abuse of the Federal Gooferment, so maybe the abuse of this person’s First Amendment rights would be instructive.

Maybe the Sheeple would get the message?

Then they will ask what is the difference between one nut killing children in CT and the USA killing children aka “collateral damage” in AfPak?

Anyone wonder why we aren’t beloved?

On one private club / gun range I frequent, the Range Safety Officer (and, there has to be one on duty for the range to be open) is required by club policy to announce “LEO on the line” so that those on the line can retire to safety. And, the backup Assistant Range Safety Officer comes to the line to observe the LEO or LEOs on the line. Note the club’s ONLY THREE accidents have been when LEOs were involved. A regular member is ejected and loses his deposit if they or their guest violates a safety rule.

Further, most gun owners know that the cops don’t practice enough to maintain proficiency. Unlike the Marines and the Military Police who practice a lot.

So why are we surprise when civilians get hurt when the kops “protect and serve”?

The Press and the Liberal would excoriate him.

Are there no “problems” with Free Speech? No KKK. No porn. No seven forbidden words. No lies on TV. No political promises, forgotten immediately upon election. Has no one died as a results of these? I think they have.

Free Speech has issues. But, we don’t throw away the Principle at the hint of trouble!

Gun deaths don’t come anywhere near the totals of military and civilian deaths in the UnConstitutional “wars” overseas we find ourselves ensnared. Nowhere near the total of abortions. Nowhere near car accidents. 

So, humbly, I suggest that Scalia is wrong. Flat out wrong. Remember one word “The Genocide Prevention Right”. The Gooferment can’t kill armed citizens without consequence.

Why should keeping an ordinary driver’s license up to date oblige anyone to deal with a government agency, in person or online? I hadn’t even realized that my license was about to expire until an airport security agent pointed it out to me the last time I flew out of Logan. The Registry no longer sends renewal notices; and woe betide the motorist who gets pulled over with an expired license, an infraction that can trigger a fine of up to $1,000, not to mention a potential arrest.

Try to imagine Visa or Discover requiring you to remember when your credit card is about to expire, and making you get in line at a branch office or go online to renew it. On the contrary: They do the remembering and renew your card automatically. Before the old one expires, you get a new one in the mail. And if there is an anomaly in your account, they typically flag it and alert you right away.

In the private economy, automatic renewals are routine. From Netflix subscriptions to homeowner’s insurance to newspaper delivery, vendors and service providers of every description make it simple to keep your account up-to-date. Your antivirus software and 401(k) investments can be put on autopilot, refreshing at regular intervals unless you choose to opt out. Why shouldn’t your driver’s license work the same way?

Maybe the real question is why the state should license drivers in the first place.

I always thought that the Insurance Company should be registering cars and testing drivers. They have the most to lose when the driver screws up or an accident occurs. They seem to be able to manage getting me my insurance ids cards well before they expire.

So why not have a combined vehicle registration and insurace card?

That’s easy. No Gooferment jobs to give to relatives!

Clearly, the TSA is an unconstitutional agency. I believe that the Dead Old White Guys would call it a “private militia”.

I’m not a “political philosopher” by any stretch of the imagination. BUT, (and there is always a BIG butt), I’d opine that there are two components of a “right” — general human agreement and folks are willing to fight to have it.

ONE

Now, obviously, the slave master wants to keep the slaves on the plantation. Dialing it back a tad, the Feudal Lord wanted to keep the serf working. Back another tad, “sharecropping” was another attempt to control people. The “company store” another. It’s all about controlling people. It’s always about control.

Politicians and bureaucrats are no different.

Freedom to move is imho one of those “obvious” rights. It’s like saying you’re free to breathe.

Now the harder one, are people willing to fight?

imho the jury’s till out about that.

Now we know the TSA is “security theater” at best and a corrupt payoff to the Unions and gives the country a new voting set of bureaucrats beholding to the Gooferment for their livelihood. Like they’ll ever push for the TSA’s abolition.

There’s a problem in the USA: ½ the people are on the dole in one form or another, ¼ are in “public service”, and the other productive ¼ are “pulling the wagon” (i.e., paying for it).

So how can the trend be reversed?

We’ll have to see if the people are willing to fight for their rights. Any of them!

TAGONIST: Wrong door raid in the Hudson Valley

The DEA has apologized for the wrong door raid in the Hudson Valley. John P. Gilbride, special agent in charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration, issued a statement Friday clearing Spring Valley resident David McKay and his family of anything to do with the series of drug raids that took place early Thursday in Westchester and Rockland counties. “We sincerely regret that while attempting to execute an arrest warrant for a member of this drug trafficking organization, the innocent McKay family was inadvertently affected by this enforcement operation,” Gilbride said. “Though we take many precautions to prevent this type of incident from happening, drug investigations are very complex and involve many fluid factors,” Gilbride said. “DEA will continue to pursue these criminal organizations to protect the public from the scourge of drug trafficking.”

PRO-TAGONIST: I’m just glad they were working to stop drug traffickers. Collateral damage is often a byproduct of good yet dangerous work. It’s not like math, 2+2=4, it has many variables, is very risky and uncertainty. But in the end, the more criminals we can stop…some collateral damage along the way is acceptable, to me anyway. It’a like a drone that takes out Al-Qaida terrorists planning an attack. Sometimes there is collateral damage there too, but when compared to the potential loss of lives the terrorists could have done, it is a win. No loss of life or liberty is a good thing…but it’s a mean world out there.

AN-TAGONIST: Little hard if you’re the “collateral damage”! Argh, makes me sick. The family in the Hudson Valley had Fourth Amendment rights to be secure in the home. Sorry, but I’d PUBLICLY discipline folks. If I was the Head of the DEA, I’d put at least a Letter of Reprimand in every single file of ANYONE involved in the raid. Including my own! I’d probably reassign the “Special Agent In Charge” to where ever the North Pole office was located. Nothing will send a message to bureaucrats as a threat to their beloved livelihood of “lifetime employment”. I’d put every other SAIC that a repeat blunder will result in termination. That’s what happens in the real world. One strike and you’re out! Argh! Legalize drugs; we’re all the “collateral damage” in the “(pseudo) War on (some) Drugs”.]

The Congressional Research Service can’t even count the number of criminal offenses currently on the books in the United States, estimating the number to be in the “tens of thousands.”

We can quickly skip thru the pages of history for the evidence: several instances against Jews, Kurds in Iraq and Iran, Cambodian Hmongs, the Polish officers, the Armenians, Serbs, and on and on.

Our First Amendment was written by the Dead Old White Guys because they knew there was no fast way of sowing discord and starting violence than to pick one imaginary god over another. Maryland Catholics, Massachusetts Protestants, Baptists, and on and on. (Again funny peculiar that even within Protestants, they can’t agree to disagree agreeably?)

If the iconic Gandhi had to almost starve himself to death to stop the sectarian violence between Hindu and Muslim when freeing India birthed Pakistan, then why is this bozo lighting the fuse?

Argh!

Seems politicians and bureaucrats can be especially dumb whenever they open their mouths. Especially since they are supposed to be the best and the brightest leaders. Leaders seek to get EVERYONE’s interests aligned. Empathize common points. And certainly not seek to polarize.

That’s the characteristic mark of a totalitarian, divide and conquer.

We have so very many problems. So may even be insolvable! So don’t make it worse.

Focus on actions; not words.

“All men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights …”

Does this fellow believe that?

Seems to me, not.

How else could he say something like this.

If I was King, then I sentence him to write on the blackboard the DoI. Once a day, every day, for the rest of his life.

Those Dead Old White Guys were pretty smart for a bunch of dumb farmers. Too bad we’re not half as smart. Every tie we’ve amended their document, we’ve screwed it up.

Sad to say, we don’t learn.

We continue to muck it up.

We have to get back to the straight and narrow.

There’s no doubt that there are people who are racists. Black and white. I can only imagine how screwed those people who were taken advantage of feel. But, calling names and getting all riled up, does ZERO to solve the problems of the day.

If I was in the NAACP, then I’d be after the scalps of the politicians and bureaucrats who put them in a virtual slavery and pander to keep them there. The psuedo “war” on (some) drugs have destroyed the Black Communities. The welfare system has simultaneously destroyed the Black Family, the Black Churches, and the initiative of anyone captured in their system. And, the worst “killer” of minorities is the education system. Walter Williams captured it perfectly: “If the Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan wanted to sabotage black academic excellence, he could not find a more effective means to do so than the government school system in most cities.”

Let’s begin to solve the problems: repeal the drug laws, free all non-violent drug offenders, let’s work to end the welfare system, and let’s free the schools. Then we can go after ALL the diktats that restrict inner city entrepreneurs (e.g., hair braiding licenses; dollar van restrictions; taxi medallions; food laws used to protect incumbents; minimum wage laws; zoning regs; rent control).

Let’s get everyone a slice of the American Dream! Expanding the pie can ensure that everyone meets the promise of the DofI — all men are created equal and endowed by their Creator with certain inalienable rights, among these are the right to life, liberty, and property.

Restore America to its ideal.

What happened to “free speech”?

Temple University’s “about” page doesn’t say if it’s public or private. Regardless, it takes Federal funds so it’s a de facto Federal agent. Hence it can’t abridge free speech. So this “security fee”, and the flap over it, is chilling to the free speech rights of everyone.

Sorry, but the Department of Defense and the National Guard should be deployed here at home. Like the Coast Guard should NOT be off gallivanting.

We have bases in reportedly 170 countries. Time for a base closing commission of taxpayers.

Did you know that the Constitution only authorizes a permanent Navy. The Army is only allowed for two years. Guess the Dead Old White guys understood about the dangers of a permanent army. What do you think they’d have thought about the alphabet agencies: FBI, DEA, BATF, CIA, NSA, yada, yada, and yada?

The girl, who has not been named, was also sentenced to two months in jail by a court in the eastern city of Jubail.

She had assaulted her headmistress after being caught with the gadget which is banned in girl schools, said Al-Watan, a Saudi newspaper. This is shocking. It offends my sensibilities. And, I’m an ijineer!

Now I have run into children that I’d have liked to give lashes too, but never 90. Never even one. It’s just a brief idle daydream. Maybe for cell phone abuse.

No one has the right to inflict pain on anyone. Any child, no matter how annoying, no matter bad the transgression, no matter how … … how frustrating deserves to be treated this way.

Where are the women’s libers? Where are the politicians?

Gooferment only has ONE purpose: to protect its citizens and residents from aggression. In a primitive society, one step away from extinction, one can expect brutality to ensure compliance necessary for group survival. In an advanced civilization, brutality is inefficient and ineffective.

We, The People, need to instruct our Gooferment that (a) that’s unacceptable; and (b) they need to exert some moral pressure to help the bozos see the error of their ways. Perhaps, PNGing (Persona Non Grata) male Saudi Ambassadors until they send us a woman as an ambassador might get our point across.

No man can be free until all men are free?
