This Massachusetts election to fill Ted Kennedy’s seat is both interesting and troublesome. The political pundits this morning are predicting the Republican will win. If so, the Democratic majority of 60 will be gone. And probably also the new healthcare bill.

What does this all reflect?

There is an undercurrent of dissatisfaction in this country. Properly so. The economy is down. Unemployment is rampant. Foreclosures continue. The banks and insurance companies say screw you to the government and people.

The situation is much like that which causes earthquakes. Things have to move and move properly. If not, there is a glitch big time. An earthquake in one instance. A political upheaval in the other.

Something has to be done. And soon. We cannot much longer tolerate the abuse which is being heaped upon us as a people.

Obama, wake up! You can do it!

*** end quote ***

BHO43 has forgotten the (Bill) Clinton doctrine. “It’s the economy stupid!” His “heath care” fiasco — which is not about health, health care, or health care insurance — it IS about putting the gooferment in control of people’s lives. To make a permanent dependence upon politicians for “medical care”. Along the way, in the tradition of good old Chicago politics, BHO43 and his co-conspirators can reward their firends, punish their enemies, and feather their own nests. Argh!

Obama Promises $100 Million in Aid for Haiti
Posted by Laurence Vance on January 17, 2010 05:12 PM

*** begin quote ***

It sure is easy to spend money when it is not your own. How charitable of Obama to donate $100 million of other people’s money. But shouldn’t America do something to help Haiti? No, America shouldn’t do anything. This $100 million comes out of the pockets of American taxpayers. In a free society, no one should be forced to fund foreign aid to any country for any reason. But what about individual Americans, shouldn’t they do something? Individual Americans may do something and can do something, but it would be wrong to say that they should do something. Who is to say whether John Doe on Main Street in Topeka, Kansas, should donate to the Haiti relief effort? It would be nice if he did, but only God alone can say that he should.

*** end quote ***

This is how I felt when I first heard it — robbed!

There are a lot charities that deserve our support. Voluntarily! SUre, President Obama can pledge 100 million. It’s not “HIS” 100 Million. It was ours.

I have less problem sending some of the military to help out. Like a hospital ship. Like “spare” troops sitting idle, “guarding” Arlington. But we have several wars going on.

I have no problem with VOLUNTARY charities. I do have a problem with “charities” that have no connection to Haiti that are soliciting. And, those with HIGH administrative rake-off. And, those like UNICEF that have an agenda.

I pray for the poor people of Haiti. But, you have to admit that the political corruption down there has made it a worse disaster.

President Barack Obama is under fire over claims that the Christmas Day underwear bomber was “singing like a canary” until he was treated as an ordinary criminal and advised of his right to silence.

Elections have consequences and this is one of them.

BHO44 didn’t lie (I don’t think; not like the Obamacare dealings will be on CSpan!) and conceal that this would be his position. But, respectfully, he’s DUMB. Maybe a Harvard lawyer, but this self-inflicted inability to get military intelligence — about this self-evidenced terrorists, his compadres, the higher up, future plans, and collateral information — is dangerous.

A wise man understands the logical extension of his proposals. In this case, we have two choices: (1) he didn’t anticipate where his policies would place us; OR (2) he did and didn’t realize the dangers. Either way, it’s dumb.

We have to quickly convince people to reverse course — before we get hit again with something bigger and badder.

Isn’t this “Management 101”?

I remember back in my AT&T days that there was an Executive On Duty list. We were all required to (1) be on duty if our boss was on vacation OR (2) if our Number #2 was on vacation. So if I was on vacation my boss and my Number #2 covered for me. It got a chance for my boss to evaluate my Number #2 and how I did picking a Number #2.

Had something similar at CS First Boston.

POLITICAL: Criticism of Fox’s O’Reilly

Has Bill O’Reilly gone soft on Obama?
By PATRICK ROBERTS, IrishCentral.com

Updated Tuesday, December 22, 2009, 11:45 AM

*** begin quote ***

Unlike most of his Fox News colleagues, Bill O’Reilly has always seemed to have a soft spot for President Obama. Perhaps it was because Obama has given O’Reilly some exclusive interviews and feedback.

It certainly seems that O’Reilly has been impressed. His gushing column on his night at the White House media party last week reads like a missive from the liberal website Moveon.org — not from the O’Reilly we all know.

Consider this: “Michelle Obama, whom I had never met, was stunning. She was warm and kind to my 10-year-old daughter and gracious to me. My quick assessment of her: Strong, charismatic, and beautiful.”

Wow! Hard to imagine Sean Hannity saying that.

*** end quote ***

No secret! I like Bill O’R. Watch it most nights.

I think his assessment of MO is accurate from what I’ve see and heard about her.

Going to the White House party is like going behind the lines. He’s a commentator, who’s format requires a foil. SO he has to have a supply of “victims”. And, maybe he might have shed some light on the stupidity of the WH was on Fox.

That being said, B O’R is the not the least dogmatic of the FOx commentators I’ve heard. Greta is more apolitical than him. Maybe Cavuto is closer in temperament.

B O’R is often “wrong” imho. He’s NOT a libertarian. As evidence, the sparing with Stossel. He was apoplectic at Stossel’s quiet libertarianism. B O’R has given BO grades that were “inflated” imho.

BO has forgotten Bill Clinton’s “commandment”. “It the economy, stupid.” TARP2, Porkulous, and GM were all stupidly poisonous to the economy.

(Let folks fail. Take your medicine promptly. And don’t be surprised when “impossible situation”, “unsurmountable obstacles”, and “irreconcilable differences” “suddenly” are “solved”. GM Unions and Management would suddenly become “best friends” when going down on the same Titanic! Watch Wall Street suddenly figure out how to be profitable WITHOUT the gooferment’s help. Especially with visions of “golden parachutes” and “big bonuses of taxpayer money” swirling down the the bowl.)

So when B O’R graded BO, his ruler was “elastic” based on his values. I don’t think that makes B O’R “soft” on BO.

Just wrong.

Grading on a Curve

*** begin quote ***

Such a disconnect between Obama’s opinion of himself and the American people’s opinion is a serious problem. It drives him to continue to pursue policies that Americans adamantly oppose (e.g., 61% oppose the Senate health care bill). Most reasonable people would take such feedback and reassess their actions. But if an employee is blind to his shortcomings, the only thing to do is show them the door. The sooner, the better, folks because it’s not going to get any better.

*** end quote ***

Well said! For a fellow with no experience, he has “accomplished” zero so far. And, like I remember Regan saying something like a President only gets to do 2 or 3 things and pick a few people, his choices for action (i.e., health care something, cap ‘n’ tax, stimulus) have been bad for us (me?) and his personel picks are terrible (i.e., Timmy the tax cheat and Rahm the fish).

Obama’s Big Sellout
The president has packed his economic team with Wall Street insiders intent on turning the bailout into an all-out giveaway
MATT TAIBBI
Posted Dec 09, 2009 2:35 PM

*** begin quote ***

Taken together, the rash of appointments with ties to Bob Rubin may well represent the most sweeping influence by a single Wall Street insider in the history of government. “Rather than having a team of rivals, they’ve got a team of Rubins,” says Steven Clemons, director of the American Strategy Program at the New America Foundation. “You see that in policy choices that have resuscitated — but not reformed — Wall Street.”

While Rubin’s allies and acolytes got all the important jobs in the Obama administration, the academics and progressives got banished to semi-meaningless, even comical roles. Kornbluh was rewarded for being the chief policy architect of Obama’s meteoric rise by being outfitted with a pith helmet and booted across the ocean to Paris, where she now serves as America’s never-again-to-be-seen-on-TV ambassador to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. Goolsbee, meanwhile, was appointed as staff director of the President’s Economic Recovery Advisory Board, a kind of dumping ground for Wall Street critics who had assisted Obama during the campaign; one top Democrat calls the panel “Siberia.”

*** end quote ***

The President, at least according to Regan as I remember, has a very limited scope of influence. (That’s always stunned me.) The agenda might have three items and be lucky to get two done. It’s the appointments — picking people — where he has the most impact.

Clearly, Rolling Stone points out how poorly that picking was done.

Obama was a ZERO.

Not O! That title still belongs to Oprah. At least, she’s a savvy business women. (I think she hurt herself and her ratings by getting to close to the ZERO and the Chicago Olympic bid.)

Obama could have:

(1) drastically realigned our troop deployments around the world. (I can hear the conversation now. “Sorry, <insert head of foreign country>, we have pulled the load for 60 or 100 years. We’re so done and out of here.”) Saving oodles of money.

(2) ended the psuedo drug war and pardoned all non-violent drug offenders. (I can hear the conversation now. “Sorry, <DEA, FDA, BATF, and FBI>, we shifting from Prohibition to Treatment.”) Saving oodles of money.

(3) stopped TARP, bailouts, and all sorts of raids on the Treasury. (I can hear the conversation now. “Sorry, <insert name of special interest group or Wall Street firm>, I’m from Chicago. I know how the game is played. And, I ain’t paying you off.”) Saving oodles of money.

(4) cut the capital gains tax to zero. Corporate income tax to zero. Cut the personal income tax to say 10%; just like the Bible. (I can see the corporate HQs relo-ing BACK to the USA as it’s a direct hit to the bottom line.)

(5) executively stopped the Patriot Act, closed the TSA, closed Homeland security, and closed the Department of Education.

The economy would have jumped back like a rocket ship.

And, he’d be on his way to a second term.

But unfortunately, the Sheeple elected 0 (zero) and not Ron Paul!

POLITICAL: Open email to Bill O’Reilly

Saturday, August 8, 2009

Dear Mr. O’Reilly,

I think you are wrong about the “birth-er” controversy.

Strategically, coming off the fiscal and liberty performance of the Bush years, the R’s have nothing to brag about. They can’t claim to be the “party of small government and individual liberty”. They acted like the party of big gooferment that they are.

Tactically, the birth certificate belies the “open and transparent” claim of the Obama campaign. Why spend millions to conceal a trivial document. Why fight to hide everything from his early years. Obama is nothing to show as an example of fiscal restraint or champion of liberty. The D’s too are the party of big socialistic government. It just took a while for the Sheeple to tumble to con that had been pulled on them.

I don’t KNOW where Obama was born. I don’t know why all the effort to conceal a document. I don’t know much. But I DO KNOW that when a politician puts that much effort into hiding something (i.e., his entire past), then there is a smoking gun or a smelly skunk in there somewhere. And, I’d like to see it.

We, as a country, have a unique habit of ignoring the facts. Wilson did campaign a peace platform. FDR did engineer Pearl Harbor. Kennedy’s assassination is unexplained. Bush41’s no new taxes. Clinton “I did not have sex with that woman”. Bush43 creating the TSA. Obama’s porkulus and Government Motors. Economi

I, for one, would like to put some stakes in the ground. Let’s start with the birth certificate!

Just ask one question: Why the prodigious effort to hide it?

The White House has sought to downplay the issue, and a number of experts have pointed out that 93 ppm of sludge in soil is somewhat normal for older urban locales. However, the EPA recommends not growing food in soil that has 100 ppm. Several major food producers, including H.J. Heinz and Del Monte, won’t accept produce grown in sludge. That’s despite decades of U.S. government efforts to encourage farmers to use solid sewage wastes in lieu of traditional fertilizer products.

Asked about consumers’ pending claims against GM and Chrysler, the Obama administration, which has worked closely with the companies on their reorganization plans, reiterated its support for both automakers.

“This was a commercial decision by the company, which we are confident will not interfere with the future viability of GM. While the U.S. Treasury was engaged in this process, GM was responsible for determining the best approach going forward,” an administration official said.

Chrysler’s decisions, meanwhile, were “consistent with conventional bankruptcy practice,” according to the official.

I thought the Democrats were the party of the working man.

Silly me!

The White House was up to its elbows in this deal which was a payoff to the UAW and seizing the wealth of honest people.

(The majority of the bondholders were banks who received TARP money. Of course, they voted like the whores to the Government they are. I’d be very circumspect about any bond or any claim made by a politician!)

Screw these little people.

Maybe ABC should ask Obama these questions in his next staged press conference that they get to play act in.

(The mainstream media is just as big a whore for the gooferment as the banks.)
