Obama’s Nontax Tax
On a Sunday show, the President offers a revealing definition.

“Mr. Obama: “My critics say everything is a tax increase. My critics say that I’m taking over every sector of the economy. You know that. Look, we can have a legitimate debate about whether or not we’re going to have an individual mandate or not, but . . .””

*** end quote ***

If I can’t avoid it, then it’s a tax. Call it a “mandate”. Call it a “penalty”. Call it the “tooth fairy”. The IRS will ensure you pay it. If that’s not a “tax”, I don’t know what is!

  1. If costs increase to health providers/insurers, those costs will pass on down to the consumer, for sure. It’s not ‘officially’ a tax, so let’s call it ‘an increase in the amount of cash a consumer has to spend’. So tell me the difference, it was still government induced and it is still painful…like everything the government does to us. It’s the same deception and lies that they hand to us…like when they say “You can keep your current health insurance plan if you like it.” Well sure, it’s not an ‘outright’ lie, but if the underlying policy causes your employer to drop your plan or make it no longer attractive due to government taxes/penalities/fines, then you would be forced into a ‘public option’. So don’t tell me I can keep my plan, when you know that won’t end up being the case. The government believes everyone is stupid, and that they can veil their ‘lies’ by only telling half the truth. Typical politicians….I say term limits for the whole gang…we don’t need legislation, just vote them out every 2-6 years! It’s a simple plan.
