A Boeing whistleblower was found dead in his truck in the parking lot of his South Carolina hotel after he failed to show up for the second part of his testimony for a bombshell lawsuit against the company, a report said Monday.

John Barnett, 62, had raised safety concerns at the airline’s factories and provided his first testimony just days before he was found dead from an apparent “self-inflicted” gunshot wound, the Charleston County coroner told the BBC.

Isn’t that convenient?

Reminds me of a Clinton “suicide” or three.

But it should have happened before the first day of testimony.

Wonder if there is video?  Maybe mind control.

Sure convenient though.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: “Medicaid dollars have indirectly financed lobbying for more Medicaid dollars.”

Eye on Albany: 1199SEIU’s Money Grab

A review of health-care union 1199SEIU’s disclosures this last decade reveals that “a quarter-billion dollars in Medicaid funds earmarked to improve nursing home care have instead flowed to a pair of benefit funds providing health coverage for 1199 members,” grumbles the Empire Center’s Bill Hammond. And some of that cash was diverted to a union project “sponsoring a multi-million-dollar TV ad campaign in support of higher Medicaid funding for hospitals.” That is: “Medicaid dollars have indirectly financed lobbying for more Medicaid dollars.” Meanwhile, the union’s National Benefit Fund, which had “a pattern of negative cash flow” from 2018 to 2020, restored “fiscal balance by increasing the contribution rates from its member employers — and by securing continued subsidies from the state.”

And, that is essentially the problem with Gooferment programs and Gooferment unions.

Of course, the “unions” provide “campaign” contributions and labor, so no conflict of interest there.

Can we say “self-licking ice cream cone”!

Argh!

INTERESTING: Flaco, the beloved Eurasian Eagle Owl, may dem, onstrate a cheap way to address NYC’s rat proble,

Flaco, beloved owl who escaped Central Park Zoo year ago, dead: officials

Though the Eurasian Eagle Owl is not native to North America, Flaco had been successfully feasting on the plentiful bounty of rats in Central Park and around the city since his escape.

“He has been very successful at hunting and consuming the abundant prey in the park,” the zoo said last year.

The Eurasian Eagle Owl is one of the larger owl species, with a wingspan of up to 79 inches and weighing three to nine pounds, according to the Wildlife Conservation Society.

*** and ***

The Eurasian Eagle Owl is not currently on the endangered species list but has been flagged as a “concerned” species given the decline in local populations worldwide.

*** end quote ***

Now I’m just a fat old white guy retired injineer but could the Universe have just sent us a “messenger” in the shape of Flaco, the beloved Eurasian Eagle Owl, as to how to control rats in NYC?

We know that NYC rats are BIG problem.  Some of them are the size of small pigs.  And they breed prolifically.

Since NYC residents can’t seem to control them and the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerk City are equally helpless, let solve this species’ “concerned” status.

I’m always reluctant to mess with the Universe, but maybe a few breeding pairs of Flaco’s cousins, could bring the rat population under control.  Hell, maybe Eurasian Eagle Owl could replace the other “rat” in the City  — the pigeon.

A win for all involved at a minimal cost.

Maybe John Oliver could get NYC to make the Eurasian Eagle Owl the City’s official bird?  It worked for the Pūteketeke in New Zealand!

Hochul sets Feb. 13 House special election to replace NY’s George Santos

A special election to fill the congressional seat vacated by expelled former Rep. George Santos will take place on Feb. 13, 2024, Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Tuesday.

Hochul set the date for the vote in New York’s Third Congressional District one day after calling her former challenger, ex-Rep. Tom Suozzi, to the governor’s mansion in Albany to bend the knee following his ill-fated primary bid last year.

“We had a good meeting and cleared the air, and I appreciate her making the time,” Suozzi said. “At a time of strong political division, I offered to be another moderate voice as the Governor works to solve problems and make progress.”

Suozzi repped the Queens and Nassau County district for six years before leaving to run against Hochul in the gubernatorial race, opening the way for Santos to upset Democrat Robert Zimmerman as part of a midterm red wave in the Empire State.

Why have the expense of a “special election”?  Just leave it vacant until the next regular election!

A Los Angeles homeowner shot and killed a suspected burglar over the weekend after a group of men wearing dark hoodies and masks broke into his home — where a child and grandmother were left rattled by the brazen attempted burglary.

Police responded to the Granada Hills home around 5 a.m. Saturday morning after receiving radio calls of shots fired inside the residence.

The homeowner told police he was inside his home when three or four unknown men wearing “dark clothing, hoodies and masks” broke in, the Los Angeles Police Department wrote on X.

“A suspect pointed a weapon at the victim and while the suspects were inside the residence, the victim produced a firearm and a shooting occurred,” the department wrote.

The homeowner, who was photographed outside the residence seemingly in handcuffs, was taken to the Devonshire Community Police Station to be interviewed, though they were later released.

Delta Air Lines backtracks changes to its SkyMiles program after customer revolt

Henry Harteveldt, a travel analyst at Atmosphere Research Group, said some SkyMiles members will still be unhappy about Delta moving to an entirely spending-based program, and will view even the reduced requirements as too rich.

“I don’t think these concessions are going to go far enough to placate the disgruntled Medallions,” he said. “Given the mercenary mindset that many travelers have, they will fly other airlines and not look back.”

Less than two weeks after Delta announced the SkyMiles overhaul, Bastian announced that the Atlanta-based airline was taking another look at the matter. He said Delta “probably went too far” with the proposed changes.

Customer reactions are in vogue now. People are saying ‘I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!’

Don’t do anything to disturb that nice steady cash flow.

‘I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!’ I want you to get up right now, sit up, go to your windows, open them and stick your head out and yell – ‘I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Things have got to change. But first, you’ve gotta get mad!… You’ve got to say, ‘I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore!’ Then we’ll figure out what to do about the depression and the inflation and the oil crisis. But first get up out of your chairs, open the window, stick your head out, and yell, and say it: [screaming at the top of his lungs] “I’M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I’M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!” — the character Howard Beale played by Peter Finch in the movie Network (1976)

GUNS: Virginia 6-year-old is a danger to himself and others

Virginia 6-year-old who wounded teacher Abigail Zwerner with gun boasted: ‘I shot that bitch dead’
By Yaron Steinbuch  — August 9, 2023 9:42am Updated

*** begin quote ***

The 6-year-old Virginia boy who shot and wounded his teacher with his mother’s gun later bragged about it to a school employee – shockingly claiming, “I shot that bitch dead,” according to newly unsealed search warrants.

After the first-grader shot Abigail Zwerner at Richneck Elementary School in Newport News on Jan. 6, reading specialist Amy Kovac held the boy until cops arrived, according to the documents obtained by WTKR.

“I did it … I shot that bitch dead,” the pint-sized pistol packer bragged, the docs show. “I got my mom’s gun last night.”

*** and ***

In a statement to WTKR, the Newport News School District said in response to the search warrant that “unfortunately, FERPA, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, prevents schools from releasing information from a student’s education record.

“U.S. Department of Education guidance states ‘schools must have written permission from the parent or eligible student in order to release any information from a student’s education record,’” the statement says.

“Newport News Public Schools is unable to comment on this matter in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act,” it adds.

*** end quote ***

Sorry but it sounds like the prosecutors are letting this go to easily.

Lot of blame to go around, but let’s focus on how the 6 years old gets a gun into school and learns to talk like that.

And, the school district seems to be hiding behind “privacy” to hide the records.

Argh!

Seems like Gooferment Skrules are as dangerous as prisons!

Dangerous TikTok trends claim 4 lives in 6 months in Alabama: officials

At least four people — including a father — have died in recent months for giving in to a new and deadly TikTok trend, Alabama authorities said.

The thrill-seekers jumped or flipped off the backs of speeding boats, only to break their necks on the wake and drown, according to Cpt. Jim Dennis of the Childersburg Rescue Squad.

The high rate of speed of the boat combined with the still water make for a dangerous landing pad that feels similar to concrete.
