S-2398/A-3879 (Bateman, Allen, Greenstein, Singleton/Ciattarelli, Auth, Space) – Requires school district to adopt policy allowing students in grades 9 through 12 who participate in certain interscholastic extracurricular activities to earn varsity letter

So the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerzee has time to legislate on “varsity letters”, but can’t solve the fiscal problems.

Doesn’t anyone see the folly in this?

Another reason that the Gooferment Skrules should be privatized. Really privatized.

I believe that it could take 40 years — 20 to transfer them to private entities and another 20 to reduce the Gooferment funding to zero — but imagine how free we’d be when the Gooferment can’t propagandize the the children.

MONEY: The falling dollar hurts real people; an ebb tide lowers all boats

Friday, October 19, 2012

Standard of living, meet falling US dollar – how a falling US dollar benefits banks at the expense of working Americans.

*** begin quote ***

There is certainly a cost to a falling US dollar. Many Americans are living the consequences of this multi-decade long trend. The Federal Reserve has only added fuel to this trend but many families are now realizing that there does come a cost to unrelenting debt based solutions to fiscal problems. Shopping at the local grocery store I’ve noticed that some items have doubled in the last few years. Fueling up is also more expensive. The issue with living on a low dollar policy is that eventually, you end up in a low wage capitalist system. The easy money slowly inflates away especially on global items. We are seeing this in the US in various arenas especially with higher education. The end result is that the standard of living for the vast majority of Americans has fallen dramatically in the last few decades.

*** end quote ***

The seems to be a basic stupidity in human beings as to the devastating impacts of “inflation” (i.e., counterfeiting by a central bank).

As an injineer, we can’t have a “standard” that varies.

As a football fan, imagine if a yard was redefined each football season as 2% less. 35.28 inches. Easier to make a first down. Records would be meaningless. And, eventually, in 30 years, they’d play on a one inch field.

So why is it different for money?

In my lifetime, the “dollar”, whatever that is, has lost 99% of it’s value. Gasoline that was 30¢ per gallon was $3.75 last night. Has gasoline become more expensive? Those evil oil companies. No!!! Based on the price of silver, gas is actually ~30% cheaper.

<<Those three silver dimes in 1960 bought a gallon of gas. Today those three dimes are worth about $6 (conservatively) to $10.50 (speculation). So either 28% cheaper or 65% depending upon your value of those dimes.>>

Why can’t “We, The Sheeple” see it?

And, in the general inflation (i.e., loss of value of the money), wages don’t go up. Those on fixed income are so screwed. And, the poor get poorer. Savings are a joke.

Also even the stock market gets “hurt”. Sure the stock prices go up, but never as much as the inflation rate. We’ve seen this in the Carter disaster. Then, stocks went up in the single digit %s, but the inflation was 25 or 30%. Hence the real value went down.

How does a tin foil hat view the world? Always price things in silver or gold. Makes it obvious.

A new men’s outfit in Rome was two ounces of gold. Today, you can buy a nice outfit for 3500$! Clothing has gotten “cheaper”.

A new car in the 60’s was 6 ounces of gold. (I know a bought a Chevy Nova brand new for 1200$). Today, 10,500$ won’t get you a new car. Cars have become more “expensive”. Gas we’ve already said has gotten “cheaper”.

What do you buy that’s changed?

INTERESTING: A gang with an institutional structure

Fifty Shades of Government
By Jeffrey Tucker

*** begin quote ***

This is the great tragedy of living under leviathan. People have different ideas about how it ought to conduct its affairs. Who should be rewarded? Who should be punished? Who gets the privileges? Who must bear the cost? It becomes a war of pressure groups, everyone seeking to live at the expense of everyone else.

What is this thing we call government? It consists of the gang with an institutional structure that makes the rules, enforces the rules, and lives by rules that are different from those it imposes on the rest of the population. We can’t steal, but government can. We can’t kill, but government can. We can’t counterfeit, kidnap, and engage in fraud, but government can. This thing called government, obviously, has a strong interest in maintaining its power, prestige, and funding.

This is true no matter what the structure of the government happens to be. Oligarchy, absolute monarchy, constitutional monarchy, presidential republic, parliamentary republic, democracy — all of them have one thing in common: They create a special caste of citizens that live at the expense of everyone else.

*** end quote ***

The essence of Libertarianism is that we need no such class.

Each man, and woman, of course, is their own sovereign.

Responsible to keep their word and a free to bind themselves in any way they see fit.

Follow the rules, comrades … or else

Most students followed protocol and said they learned more than in a regular classroom assignment. Ninth-grader Joe Polarr was arrested several times for walking on the grass, wearing a hat and not pulling back his long hair — basically just being Joe Polarr on a normal school day.

*** end quote ***

Left out the killing. Socialists, Communists, and Fascists kill people. So “old” Joe would be dead for not following the rules. The gooferment skool left out that little lesson. But, we, The People, can’t ever forget that gooferments, for all their usual ineptitude, are really good at mass murder! Look at the body counts. All gooferments, even ours, kills innocent people at home and abroad. Aren’t we ashamed of that? Aren’t we afraid of that? Aren’t we personally at risk?

RANT: Supposedly Bill Cosby’s platform (Update 4)

I have to get some time to check snopes for this. It sounds like inet tripe. But, it does give me “blo-der” (i.e., fodder to blog about)!

Update: It is a hoax.

But it’s still useful to destroy each bullet point.

>(1) English is the official language

We need an “official” anything, like we need a hole in the head. We managed to go 200 years without an “official” language. Why do we suddenly need one now? Could it be more of the 1850’s Know Nothings anti-immigrant prejudice? Could it be just one more way that the “power elite” distract us from the important issues of the day?

>2) We will immediately go into a two year isolationist posture to straighten out the country’s attitude.. NO imports, no exports.

And, how do you like 30$/gal gasoline? Give the politicians who passed the Smoot Hawley tariff, they may have not been aware that they were creating the Great Depression and allowing FDR to take us off the gold standard which allowed runaway gooferment spending. It’s hard to imagine anything this stupid actually passing. But, never underestimate the stupidity or cupidity of politicians. In the Depression and subsequent civil unrest, you would at least wrest the title of the “great depression” from 1929. I can’t imagine the result of this ill considered policy. Not only would you screw this country, but all of our trading partner as well. Poor people in third world countries who make stuff that gets shipped here would be instantly out of work. I can visualize the starvation and civil unrest around the world. Trade preempts invasions. World War 3! Absolute stupidity.

Stay tuned. I’ll take on each over the next twelve days

>3) When imports are allowed, there will be a 100% import tax on it.

How absurd. What that means is that people will be paying the government for the privilege of overpaying? From an economic point of view, you’re not producing the maximum value for human society or American society. This is similar to the argument that every one should be a subsistence farmer. We don’t want imports from California to prevent New Jersey from growing oranges. Oh yeah, that’s right, they won’t grow here. Stupidity!

>4) All retired military personnel will be required to man one of our many observation towers on the southern border (six month tour).

Why would they have to do that. Just because they are retired military? Do they get paid? How much will that cost?

>4 continued They will be under strict orders not to fire on SOUTHBOUND aliens.

The implication is that they will fire on NORTHbound aliens. Guess all aliens look a like. The death penalty for believing what is written on the Statue of Liberty.THe problem isn’t folks coming here to work hard. The problem is government welfare and the psuedo drug war. So shred the Fourteenth Amendment about involuntary servitude and keep up the pretense that the illeagals are the root of all our problems.

POLITICIAL: BIG GOVERNMENT can’t solve problems

The Lies are Sacred, Blessed by Government
by Doug French

*** begin quote ***

The real trouble, as professor Cleveland points out, is that the vast majority of people have accepted big government as the solver of all problems, thus Obama’s overwhelming election victory. Education is what is needed to fix this problem. It won’t happen overnight, but if more young people read sound, well-written books like professor Cleveland’s, the nation will ultimately return to its roots.

*** end quote ***

As Regan said, “Government isn’t the solution; it’s the problem”.

How right he was.

Unfortunately, the sheep people won’t understand that,
