In the pre-Fed pre-FDR days, one could save gold and silver coins as a “store of value”.  Since then “everyone” believes in the good old U$D.

I don’t.  

Catholic high school, taught by grizzly vets of WWII and Korea turned into religious, we learned Roman history.  Often struggling over the Latin. “nequam” stuck in my mind about the amount of silver in the Roman denarii.  

On a visit to the Smithsonian, I saw a display of the French franc of Louis I to Louis XVII which went from a hockey puck of gold to a paper thin shirt button.

At least in those cases, you could see the only shrink.  Now the FRB “greenbacks” look the same but their value has shrunk to next to nothing.

I don’t know when this very ugly chicken will come home to roost, but it will come.

Anyone not saving some silver and gold coins will have a rude awakening.

As I noted at the time, most of the corporate press spewed contempt and scorn on these questions because 1/6 has become an event that carries virtually religious importance to them, and their reverence for the U.S. security state makes them resistant to any suggestions that the FBI may have acted deceitfully — an utterly bizarre mindset for U.S. journalists to possess. But such is the state of the liberal sector of the corporate press today.

In a letter sent to New York Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.) on Friday, Deputy Assistant Attorney General Joe Gaeta wrote that the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division had requested information on “nursing facilities run by, or for, the State of New York” last August. After a review, the letter stated that the department would decline to open an investigation into any public nursing facility in the state based on violations of the Civil Rights of Institutionalized Persons Act.

Zeldin had requested the investigation earlier this year, adding to the growing number of state and federal inquiries into the New York governor.

Zeldin, a Republican candidate in next year’s gubernatorial race who represents a congressional district in Long Island, released a statement Friday, attacking the Justice Department for its decision.

“The families and loved ones of the victims of Governor Cuomo’s failed leadership deserve transparency, accountability and the truth about the lengths of the Cuomo administration’s cover up and corruption,” said Zeldin. “The Department of Justice has now chosen to willfully participate in the effort to deny the public answers and accountability.”

Texts have been really screwed up on the TMobile network.  All sort of weird crap going on.  Texts to and from TMobile are just going into the bitbucket.

My work around is just to use the damn phone as a voice call.

All communications protocols SHOUD BE authenticated and error-resistant!

NJ landlords lose challenge to Murphy’s COVID order on rents

TRENTON – A state appeals court has upheld an executive order Gov. Phil Murphy issued early in the pandemic that allowed tenants to use their security deposits to pay their rent.A group of landlords sued, claiming that the order violated the state constitution and state law by interfering with residential lease contracts. The court found the order is a “valid use of the governor’s emergency powers” as the Disaster Control Act permits it due to a “widespread economic emergency.”

Sorry, but I always though these type of “interference in contract” actions were immoral and illegal.

If you buy into the doctrine of “incorporation” (i.e., the Federal Bill of Rights applies to the States), then this is clearly a Fifth Amendment taking,

But expecting a judge (i.e., Gooferment bureaucrat) to conflict with a President or a Governor (i.e., other Gooferment bureaucrats) is unthinkable.

TMOBILE: Texting problem — strange

Subscriber has two cellular lines — #1 used from a Blackberry KeyOne and #2 used from a TMobile One Note.

First Problem:  Phone calls to #1 never ring the phone and go to voice mail intermittently.

Second Problem: Text message from #2 never comes to #1.

  • Text messages from an AT&T apple go to both individually.
  • Text message from #2 to #1 in car gets the “Im driving message” but the text doesn’t come thru.
  • Putting multiple people on a text message from #2 to #1 and Apple goes through.

Any one have any ideas?
