OPERATION SYSTEM: OS X El Capitan resets password to iCloud’s

Sunday, October 18, 2015

2015-Oct-18

Upgraded to OS X El Capitan.

Ran for about an hour and then wouldn’t let me sign on to my primary id.

Argh!

Luckily, I have always followed a rule of thumb with all OS’, “create multiple admin and regular User accounts”.

So I was able to log on an alternate administrator account, so the problem was limited to the MAIN administrator account.

I could not reset the MAIN admin account from the ALTERNATE admin account.

Strange?

So since I use LASTPASS and keep all my old passwords, I just found the prior one which was the ICLOUD password.

Bingo that was it.

So, make sure you know that one, because OS X El Capitan resets it back when you upgrade.

I guess that’s a “feature”.

Argh!

PRODUCTIVITY: Manage things, lead people

Flying Off the Handle
by Theodore Dalrymple
October 10, 2015

*** begin quote ***

I am no great admirer of management as a science or of managers as people. The latter tend to speak a strange language, a jargon neither elegant nor poetic; they buy very dull books at airports, they are often shifty and ruthless, and they seem to me to live in a constant condition of bad faith. They are bureaucrats pretending to be entrepreneurs even when they work for the state, an organization that secures its solvency by the simple expediency of printing more money—in fact, not even by printing it anymore, simply by adding a few naughts on computer screens. We live in a regime of paper money without the paper.

*** end quote ***

As a fat old white guy injineer, who has been “managing” for a long time, I learned from my first boss at AT&T that “You manage things, but lead people.” Hence, I think there is “science” in managing things (i.e., projects; processes; technology; etc. etc.). But the minute, one attempts the “Human Resources” approach of “managing” people, you are doomed to failure. Argh!

TINFOILHAT: What’s a ‘benign cover-up’?

Saturday, October 17, 2015

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3267845/Former-CIA-director-John-McCone-benign-cover-withhold-information-investigators-JFK-s-assassination.html

Former CIA director was part of a ‘benign cover-up’ to withhold information from investigators about JFK’s assassination

  • Declassified CIA reports claim former CIA Director Jon McCone withheld information about President John F Kennedy’s assassination
  • The reports claim McCone and other top officials were part of a ‘benign cover up’ to keep the Warren Commission focused on Lee Harvey Oswald
  • McCone concluded in his assessment that Oswald, a former Marine, was a ‘lone gunman’ who acted on his own
  • The Warren Commission’s final report was consistent with McCone’s
  • The declassified CIA reports did not raise question about the findings of the Warren Commission, including that Oswald was the gunman
  • But the reports acknowledge the failure in the CIA’s dealings with the Warren Commission
  • The CIA report offers no conclusion as McCone’s motivations to cover up agency activities

A former CIA director withheld information about President John F Kennedy’s assassination, according to declassified agency reports.

The CIA reports, which were declassified last fall, claim that then-agency head John McCone and other top officials were part of a ‘benign cover-up’ surrounding the assassination of Kennedy in November 1963.

*** end quote ***

Sorry, but there’s no such thing.

I read this story earlier in the week but waited for a more reputable source to report it.

Excuse me, don’t you go to jail for a ‘cover-up’ — benign or not.

Just goes to show that the Gooferment is ENTIRELY untrustworthy.

Argh!

Now I’m not a new kid on the block, but this continues to shock me.

“I’m shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on in here!” Captain Renault in Casablanca

That there is lying going on. Special circle of Hell for these folks.

GUNS: Make “toy guns” all orange?

Officer’s Shooting of Boy With Pellet Gun Was Justified, Reports Say

Dave Urbanski

*** begin quote ***

The pellet gun Tamir was holding shoots non-lethal plastic projectiles but its orange markings had been removed.

*** end quote ***

Sorry, but I side with the police on this one.

Who takes the orange off?

What parent sees that and doesn’t go nuts?

It was either stupidity or criminal conduct. We’ll never know.

The details have to emerge, but, sad as it is, it was totally predictable.

The federal Bureau of Prisons has banned pork products from being served in the 122 prisons it runs nationwide, The Washington Post reports.

It’s supposed to be prison?

“Bad” food might discourage folks from coming back.

Oatmeal for fast; beans for lunch; and veggies for dinner. Very healthy.

Didn’t Sheriff Joe just serve baloney sandwiches?

GUNS: The Left has a clear gun grab agenda

Wednesday, October 14, 2015

Lefty Blogger Josh Marshall: ‘We Really Do Want to Take Your Guns. Maybe Not All of Them. But a Lot of Them’
By Tom Johnson | October 10, 2015 | 12:22 PM EDT

*** begin quote ***

Marshall concluded, “Those of us who see the current situation as not just non-ideal but actually a sort of societal sickness need to start thinking way beyond things like closing the gun show loophole…In other words, yes, we really do want to take your guns. Maybe not all of them. But a lot of them.”

*** end quote ***

At least, he’s honest to admit that the Left wants to disarm “We, The Sheeple”.

Molon Labe.

Hope that works out well for whomever you send out.

“And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand? . . .” — Alexander Solzhenitsyn

“…if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.” -Churchill, The Second World War, vol. 1, The Gathering Storm (London: Cassell, 1948, 272, on the British guarantee to Poland in Spring 1939.

I think that the “gun grabbers” misunderstand the temperament in flyover country.

Even in the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerk, gunowners ignored “Safe NY”. And, the State Gooferment backed down.

Argh!

Secession is the answer. And eternal vigilance about every over step.

RANT: A split-level passenger seat design?

Airbus files patent for split-level passenger seat design
Published October 06, 2015
FoxNews.com

*** begin quote ***

Airplanes could get even more cramped with a new seat design from Airbus that has passengers seated on top of each other in a bi-level configuration.

Earlier this month, the global airline manufacturer filed a patent with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for a split level seating design that could be used in businesses cabins on wide body aircraft, news.com.au reports.

In rows where passengers are normally seated six across, the middle rows would alternate between floor level and elevated seating to fit an additional two passengers per row. The raised seats would be accessible by a stair or ladder and would be able to fully recline above the passengers seated below.

*** end quote ***

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!

I can’t image how you evacuate that plane in an emergency. Let alone board and “de-plane”.

And, if the passenger above you spills something or worse, then yuck?

Can you make it any MORE uncomfortable and cramped?

There’s a reason I hate to fly any more.

It used to be “fun”; now it’s like torture.

INTERESTING: A “woman” manipulates a “man”

Monday, October 12, 2015

2015-Oct-12

Laugh!

Today, I was having a bagel and coffee.

A man, “obviously” Grandpa, having a snack with a young female child Sophia about age 8 would be my guess.

He sits down and tells her to sit across from him.

(Why I have no idea. Mistake number 1 — give an order that may not be obeyed.)

She sits two tables away.

After several interactions, he “compromises” half-way and sits at the table next to her.

(Mistake number 2 — “compromise”. Shows the original order wasn’t important!)

After several more interactions, he sits at “her” table.

Laugh.

(Mistake number 3 — capitulation. Demonstrating this was a waste of time.)

Guess “women” learn “man – ipulation” early in life.

Argh!

TINFOILHAT: Did the Alcatraz escapees make it?

Relatives have ‘proof’ Alcatraz escapees are still alive
By Tim Donnelly
October 10, 2015 | 9:45am

*** begin quote ***

Alcatraz officials have long stated that the men drowned, maintaining the prison’s bragging rights of no escapees. But now, more than 50 years later, new leads are being presented by the Anglin family, who are cooperating with authorities for the first time.

They claim that not only did the brothers survive the escape, they were alive and well up through at least the mid-1970s — and may still be alive today.

The evidence is offered up by the Anglins’ nephews David, 48, and Ken Widner, 54, who are featured in “Alcatraz: Search for the Truth,” a History Channel special airing Monday. The evidence has pumped life into the cold case, and has investigators lining up new interviews and planning to search South America for signs of America’s most notorious escapees.

*** end quote ***

And, why would we believe the “Alcatraz officials”?

Like with murder cases, it’s very hard to convict without a body.

And, from time to time, we hear of folks who have disappeared completely.

Personally, without proof, all we have is assertions and presumptions.

GUNS: Disarmed and helpless is an irresponsible, suicidal choice

THE TED OFFENSIVETHE ANSWER: GET A DAMN HANDGUN

Welcome to the fundamentally transformed America, a heartbreaking embarrassment where rugged individualism, self-sufficiency and self-defense is scorned and condemned and, horror of horrors, outright forbidden for all practical purposes in New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois and California and in gun-free zones across the land.

If you believe and know in your heart that your life is worth defending and you live in a state or city where it is illegal, join the NRA and fight with all you have to get your right to keep and bear arms back. If you don’t get this lifesaving right back, move to a state that does not infringe.

Do not vote for Democrats ever again, and educate everyone you know how they are destroying America. Vote Republican and send a message that we the people are in charge of our lives, and our American Dream is defined by the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights, the Golden Rule and the Ten Commandments.

Disarmed and helpless is an irresponsible, suicidal choice that will get you killed. Defend yourself.

*** end quote ***

Having lived most of my life in the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerzee and worked in the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerk, I’ve been “trained” to be unarmed.

Luckily, I never was hurt. Harmed by crime several times. Mostly petty thefts from my car.

As I get older and, possibly a little wiser, I realize I was lucky. As big guy, a vet, and with some street smarts, trouble may have passed me by for easier pickings. Now as a poor old senior citizen on a fixed income, I’m probably a target.

I want to defend myself so I can steal back all that “social security” that was stolen from me by the Gooferment.

I was pursuing my Conceal Carry license in Virginia when I was downsized. Now I realize it’s my Constitutional God-give right to carry.

One of my first projects in New Hampshire is to located a range, complete my training, and begin packing.
