Will Anyone Actually Like It if Biden Ends Fossil Fuels?
By Chris J. Krisinger

*** begin quote ***

President Biden’s avowed intention to “end fossil fuel” is — puns intended — an economic crash waiting to happen, and not just for air travel. For this nation and Americans to continue to derive the benefits of air travel, the president and his administration’s hostility toward the vital role fossil fuels will continue to play in this nation’s future must be permanently “grounded.”

POLITICAL: Some ideas to get the Gooferment under control

The Worst Form of Government
9/12/2022, 9:27:23 AM · 17 of 17

*** begin quote ***

Excellent and very important points. At the very least there have to be more checks placed on power, at all levels. Term limits are essential, but is just one of many, many things that have to change.

As an incomplete but initial list I would place:

1. Strict irreversible term limits, with a cap on the total number of cumulative years in all offices combined (NO CAREER POLITICIANS, EVER). This should include heads of agencies etc., (e.g. no Anthony Fauci type careers).

2. Each and every agency has to have hiring done by a revolving citizens committee and cannot do their own hiring, ever. It’s an essential step to prevent a deep state bureaucracy.

3. No guaranteed government pensions. Every government employee should be on a 401K type plan like the rest of us.

4. All government salaries, at all levels should be determined by a public vote.

5. No city or region in the nation can have more than 2 government agencies, and the locations of those agencies should reflect the regional diversity of the nation.

6. Absolutely no insider trading of any type. Those holding federal office cannot hold or trade securities (etc.) unless done within a private trust that they have no input into or intimate knowledge of.

7. Voting must be done in person, except for the military, with at least 2 official forms of identification. Knowingly participating in fraudulent voting at any level is an automatic unappealable year in prison, at minimum.

These are just an initial list. There are many, many more things that have to be addressed and codified. In general, being in public office should have very, very few perks, and the fundamental principle that all in public office are employees who serve at the pleasure of the citizens needs to be front row and center and in the face of anyone who wants to pursue public office at any level. The stature of politicians should be no more than anyone else in society.

*** end quote ***

And what makes anyone think that politicians and bureaucrats would ever allow this to pass into effect?

POLITICAL: Mandatory retirement age for politicians and bureaucrats? How about 70!

Three quarters of Americans are tired of the GERONTOCRACY and want age limits on elected officials, says a grim new poll for Biden, 79, Trump, 76, Pelosi, 82, McConnell, 80, and much of the Senate

  • 73 percent of adults want to set maximum age limits for elected officials
  • The most popular age limit is 70, poll shows
  • By this standard, President Joe Biden, 79, and Donald Trump, 76, are over the hill
  • The average age of senators at the start of the current Congress was 64.3 years

Nearly three quarters of Americans say they want a maximum age limit for elected officials, with roughly equal numbers of Republicans and Democrats agreeing to nudge elderly politicians into retirement, a new poll shows.

Overall, 73 percent of more than 2,000 adults surveyed by YouGov called for age limits. Among them, the most popular age to pension off officials was 70, favored by 40 percent of respondents.

The survey comes at a particularly elderly period in U.S. political life, led by such Democrats as 79-year-old President Joe Biden and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, 82, and the top Senate Republican Mitch McConnell, 80.

Billionaires from the L.I.S.A. super PAC have donated nearly $3 million against Trump-endorsed Alaskan Senate candidate Kelly Tshibaka, the opponent of establishment and pro-impeachment incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK).

L.I.S.A, which reportedly stands for “Leadership in a Strong Alaska,” only backs one candidate, Murkowski. The main PAC contributors are hedge fund managers Ken Griffin, John Arnold, and Louis Bacon, who, respectively, contributed $1.5 million, $500,000, and $50,000. “James and Kathryn Murdoch, the politically moderate heirs to the Murdoch media empire, have each given $250,000,” Forbes reported:

POLITICAL: Time to dismantle the FBI

Where is the FBI’s Rubicon? After the Mar-a-Lago raid, when will the public stop standing for this?
August 12, 2022 | 10:13 am
By Roger Kimball
Roger Kimball is the editor and publisher of the New Criterion, publisher of Encounter Books and a Spectator columnist and contributing editor.

*** begin quote ***

Everyone knows that in January 49 BC Julius Caesar, about to lead part of his army across the Rubicon river, said “Alea iacta est,” “the die is cast.” Except that, according to Plutarch, what he really said was “Ἀνερρίφθω κύβος,” “let the die be cast,” and he did not so much say it as quote it, since the already-proverbial line came from the Greek playwright Menander. Anyway, in bringing an army across the stream that separated cis-Alpine Gaul from Italy proper, Caesar had committed treason. In crossing the Rubicon he had crossed a line, sparking the civil war that engulfed Rome and formalized the end of the Republic that had, as Caesar himself noted, been dead in all-but-name-only for decades.

Contemplating the recent actions of our secret police, known to some as the FBI, I have often wondered where to locate their Rubicon. Was it when they conducted a dawn raid against Roger Stone, having been careful to alert CNN beforehand so they could be on hand to publicize the attack? Maybe it was when they burst into the apartment of Project Veritas’s James O’Keefe, throwing him out in the hallway in his pajamas, while they ransacked his home looking for a diary kept by Joe Biden’s daughter? Or perhaps it was when they arrested former Trump aide Peter Navarro, throwing him in handcuffs and leg irons before depositing him in jail? Or when they accosted the lawyer John Eastman and confiscated his cell phone? That seems to have become a favorite pastime of the FBI, seizing people’s cell phones. Just a couple of days ago, they took Representative Scott Perry’s phone. “But,” you point out, “Perry is a Republican and Trump ally. He has no property rights.”

*** and ***

But the question remains: will the American people accept that the FBI has become the Praetorian Guard for the regime? I don’t know. I hope not. Harvey Silverglate is right: given its history of lawless behavior, “it is remarkable that no sitting president has moved to abolish the FBI.” Of course, it won’t happen on Biden’s, er, watch (or during his naps). But one way or another, the FBI must be dismantled. “We need an entirely new agency,” as Silverglate observed, “and a director who has no history of having worked in or with the FBI. Agency culture is a powerful force, and if we are to have any success in ridding the nation of this menace, we best eradicate it completely and start over.”

“Eradicate it completely and start over.” I couldn’t agree more. Will this partisan assault on a once (and possibly future) president be the Rubicon we’ve been waiting for? Let’s see.

*** end quote ***

It has definitely crossed the line and demonstrated that it’s now a political tool.  That’s what the Dead Old White Guys feared most — “private militias”.  Rogue “law enforcement”.  Tyrants with their “standing armies”.

It’s up to the next President and Congress to tear this agency down and, where important and salvageable, move components to appropriate places.

POLITICAL: Ron Paul has been proven right time and again

Covid RIP… and Ron Paul was Right.

*** begin quote ***

So yes, Dr. Paul was prescient in 1988 when he warned about the FBI as a political weapon – as we’ve seen it again used this week against a former US President. But he also simply understood the truth about the nature of government: that the more of it we have, the more temptation for the elites to bend power to better fulfill their end-goal of total control. Politics is about power. It is war by other means.

In a similar vein, and almost under the radar, the CDC just announced that everything they had been demanding and telling us for the past two plus years has been a lie. It doesn’t matter if you stand six feet away from people, it doesn’t matter if you are vaccinated or unvaccinated. You don’t need to quarantine. Kids can stay in school if someone around them has contracted the ‘rona.

The CDC and the thugs around them are pretending that this is something new, that they suddenly understand “the Science” better. They will not admit that they were lying and manipulating all along in pursuit of power and money.

But Ron Paul understood from day one. He saw what was coming and he put it all on the line to fight the totalitarian tide. He wasn’t armed with a crystal ball. He was armed with an understanding of truth: Power corrupts.

One Democrat Senator Can Stop Middle-Class Tax Hike
COMMENTARY
By Akash Chougule — August 05, 2022

*** begin quote ***

Democrats are calling for a massive middle-class tax increase during an inflation crisis to pay for billions in corporate welfare. It sounds absurd, but it’s true.

The average American family will spend $5,520 more in 2022 to afford the same quality of life as 2021, and poll after poll shows rising costs are the nation’s biggest concern; yet Democrats in Congress are trying to raise taxes across the board to fund hundreds of billions in giveaways to politically-favored industries.

The so-called “Inflation Reduction Act” introduced by Sen. Joe Manchin in July is many things, but inflation reduction it is not. Analysis from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business, which Manchin previously said is his budgetary model of choice, says that the $739 billion behemoth is unlikely to have any impact at all on inflation. Congress’ nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation says it will raise taxes on every income bracket above $30,000 per year. President Biden has repeatedly pledged he would not raise taxes on any family making less than $400,000, but the committee found that the middle class and low earners will face the steepest tax hikes under the proposal. Biden isn’t the only supporter willing to violate his commitments amid record inflation: both Manchin and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer spoke out against tax increases during recession – notwithstanding the White House’s attempts to change the definition of the word for political gain.

*** and ***

Democrats claim these taxes are borne by corporations, but it is well established and agreed upon by economists – including left-leaning experts – that much of the burden of corporate taxation is borne by workers. Estimates vary, but the Congressional Budget Office found that workers bear about 73% of the cost. For low-income households, the burden of corporate taxation outweighs that of individual income taxes.

The damage to the economy would be broad even as Manchin insists on the limited scope of tax hikes. The five industries hardest hit employ one in every four American workers, or about 40 million people in total.

*** end quote ***

Remember in November!

Even if you have to hold your nose, the R’s — who are not much better are the party out of power — hence vote them in.

You’ll have a chance to vote them out the next time around.

I’d rather a do nothing Gooferment than one party Gooferment.

POLITICAL: Nuking the Federal Department of Education sounds like a good start

Watch: Betsy DeVos Doubles Down on ‘Eliminating’ Education Department, Slams Administrative State

*** begin quote ***

WASHINGTON, District of Columbia — Former Education Secretary Betsy DeVos reiterated her call to eliminate the Department of Education while calling out entrenched federal bureaucrats, the “vast majority” of whom, she said, are “actually working against you.”

“I think anyone who is serious about getting after the size and scale of the federal government has got to make this a very top tier issue going into the next cycle,” she said of plans circulating in conservative circles of firing potentially thousands of federal employees in a new Republican administration.

“I just think about the experience in the Department of Education and how formidable the bureaucracy is and how how difficult it is to advance policy in an environment where the vast majority of the individuals are actually working against you,” DeVos continued. “But that goes to the heart of the argument against the Department of Education, which again, I will reiterate, I think the department was created on a political payoff and we’ve seen the implications of that play out in the decades since then.”

*** end quote ***

No doubt about the “political payoff” assertion.  Jimmie Carter made that deal.

Nowhere in the Constitution is a “Department of Education” mentioned as a power granted to the Federal Gooferment.

What better way for a new President to start dismantling the Deep State than by eliminating a whole department with one fell swoop.

POLITICAL: “Private” companies have become the propaganda arm of the party in power over the US Gooferment

Bokhari: Big Tech’s Blueprint to Stop a Red Wave in 2022

Allum Bokhari 27 Jul 2022

*** begin quote ***

Republicans think a “red wave” is inevitable in November. But the Democrats still have one big advantage: the ever-tightening grip of Big Tech censorship, which will be used to prevent undecided voters from encountering even the most mainstream conservative news in the runup to the next election. Republicans will have a strong message — but what if voters are prevented from hearing it?

In the runup to the 2020 U.S. presidential election, Google completely suppressed Breitbart News from its search results. Compared to 2016, Breibart News went into the 2020 election with a 99.7 percent reduction in visibility for its links on Google search. The censorship was so severe, no-name blogs with plagiarized headlines and content would appear in search results before the original Breitbart News articles. On searches for the term “Joe Biden,” Google cut visibility on Breitbart News links to zero.

Then, a few weeks before the election, Big Tech teamed up to suppress one of the biggest stories of the cycle: the Hunter Biden laptop story. A post-election poll found that 17 percent of Biden voters would have reconsidered their decision had they been aware of the laptop story alone, not counting the hundreds of Breitbart News stories voters didn’t have access to due to Google censorship.

Biden’s margin of victory in three swing states was less than a percentage point, making tech censorship a pivotal factor in the outcome. There is no law preventing Silicon Valley from not only repeating this plan in 2022, but scaling it up to a massive level – and that’s exactly what they are doing. The groundwork is already being prepared, in a number of ways:

#1 “Independent” Watchdogs Downgrading Conservative Media — NewsGuard Discredits The Right

#2 Facebook Suppressing The News — If The Wrong Side Is Winning, Call Off The Game

#3 Taxpayer-Funded Censorship — NPR Creates Misinformation Bureau

#4 Regulatory Gridlock — No Recourse For Citizens

#5 The Institutionalization of Censorship — Facebook’s $150 Million ‘Oversight Board’

*** and ***

Like the “misinformation” panic, the point of the Oversight Board is to give a veneer of process and legitimacy to Facebook’s suppression of non-progressive viewpoints.

Going into the 2022 midterm elections, if Silicon Valley gets its way, voters online will see only what the elites want them to see. That January 6 was the worst attack on democracy ever. That Republicans killed people by pointing out masks don’t work. That women in red states are being driven to coathanger abortions.

In short, Silicon Valley will ensure that the misinformation of the establishment gets a megaphone, while any conservative counterpoints are silenced. We already know from 2020 that this works. The question is, what are Republicans going to do about it?

*** end quote ***

As a little L libertarian, “private companies” should just make a profit and stay out of politics.

In these examples (i.e., Disney, Google, Facebook, Big Media), they have become propaganda arms of the Big Left wing of the Democratic Party and using their control of Gooferment to silence their opposition.

“We, The Sheeple” must recognize that the game is rigged and punish all involved.

As painful as it is, consumers must boycott Disney, Google, and Facebook.  Until they change their ways, they are PNG.

Thanks in large part to in-car safety tech like airbags, antilock brakes, stability control and, more recently, automatic emergency braking, US traffic fatalities have generally been on a long decline since 1970. The 52,000 such deaths recorded 52 years ago shrank to 36,000 in 2019 even as the US population and vehicle miles driven both increased dramatically. But 2020 and 2021 saw the biggest spike in over 50 years to a total of almost 43,000 per year, turning the roadway fatality clock back to 2002. In short, something’s not working as well as it did.

“We need regulations related to vehicle design and street design,” says Yonah Freemark, senior research associate at the Urban Institute, a nonprofit think tank focused on urban mobility and equity. “Those two play a really important role in how likely people are to get killed in streets, especially pedestrians (and cyclists) that are struck by cars.”

Speed is a major factor in nearly a third of all roadway deaths. A solution that would likely raise the hackles of most US drivers is the increased use of still-rare automatic speed cameras that issue tickets autonomously and create an enforcement presence that no number of human officers can hope to replicate. But US drivers have been sufficiently vocal in their opposition to such enforcement tech that there are studies looking at the numerous cities that have removed their similar red-light cameras.
UK speed cameras above four lanes of traffic

Speed cameras are common in several countries outside the US, often using technology that calculates average speed of a given vehicle based on the time stamps when it passes two or more placeson the roadway.

If you think Joe Biden’s bad, just imagine President Kamala …
By Piers Morgan
June 28, 2022

*** begin quote ***

Picture the scene:

It’s July 4, 2023, and President Kamala Harris is about to address the American people about Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Poland.

She’s been leader of the free world for six months since Joe Biden, implementing the 25th Amendment, abruptly resigned on the grounds of physical and mental incapacity after the Democrats suffered the worst midterm election mauling in history, losing 120 House seats and eight Senate seats.

This beat President Grover Cleveland’s long-held ignominious 1892 record of “biggest midterm wipe-out ever” and meant the Republicans seized back full control of Congress with paralyzing, agenda-wrecking majorities.

(It was reported that Biden fell into a spontaneous catatonic state after seeing the sheer size of his failure to persuade Americans he was doing a good job, though it took White House aides several days to realize he wasn’t acting normally.)

President Harris’ tenure in office has bordered on the miraculous, in that she has managed to be even worse than her predecessor — something political experts didn’t think was possible.

In fact, her presidency has been a catalog of calamities, dominated by woke-ravaged lunacy.

Her first decision was to make freshperson Congressperson Megan Rapinoe her vice president, saying how delighted she was to appoint the first gay woman to such high office — only for Rapinoe to wreck the historic moment by issuing a furious statement saying she now identified as a non-binary bisexual womb-carrier, so had never been so offended and was quitting before she even started.

Well, since we know Slo Joe isn’t running things, who’s running the show now?

Ten Years Later: Over 53K Illegal Aliens Given DACA Despite Arrest Records Including for Murder, Rape, Kidnapping
John Binder — 17 Jun 20221

*** begin quote ***

Ten years ago, in 2012, former President Barack Obama created the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program via executive order that has allowed nearly 800,000 illegal aliens to evade arrest and deportation.

Standards for the Obama program were set so low that tens of thousands of illegal aliens with prior arrest records for crimes like murder, rape, and kidnapping were able to secure DACA status.

In 2018, then-President Trump’s administration released comprehensive data on DACA, previously hidden by the Obama administration, that revealed the extent to which the program had successfully helped shield criminal illegal aliens from arrest and deportation by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.

From 2012 to 2018, about 53,792 illegal aliens were awarded DACA despite having prior arrest records. Meanwhile, nearly 8,000 illegal aliens awarded DACA were later arrested for crimes, the data shows.fe

This is more evidence that the Gooferment’s politicians and bureaucrats have a different agenda than “We, The Sheeple”.  If they are not going to enforce the laws, then why do we bother to pretend.

GOP Candidate’s STATE-LEVEL Electoral College Idea Could Help Rural Areas — and Kill Vote Fraud
The New American ^ | May 21, 2022 | Selwyn Duke

*** begin quote ***

In 2019, the Democrat-controlled Colorado Senate joined a liberal-state pact designed to eliminate our nation’s Electoral College system. Now a Colorado gubernatorial candidate is, far from just mounting a defense against this, taking the offense:

He has proposed instituting an electoral college within his state.

It’s an idea that not only could help rural Centennial State counties, but also could virtually neutralize vote fraud’s effectiveness. The Washington Examiner reports on the story:

One candidate in Colorado’s gubernatorial election has called for eliminating its one-person, one-vote approach in favor of a state-level electoral college….

Greg Lopez, a Republican candidate for Colorado’s governor, has pitched the idea of using an electoral college-based approach for statewide political office, arguing the current system favors large cities at the expense of more rural counties.

*** end quote ***

The Dead Old White Guys hated “democracy”.  They saw the French Revolution mob chopping off heads.

So this fellow seeks to have a similar construct to the Electoral College at the State level.

(I have no idea why the pundit class thinks that it’ll be unconstitutional. Since we have it at the Federal level.)

It would be interesting to try somewhere.

The Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerzee has 21 counties and the “rural” ones are always out-voted by the corrupt city Democratic machines.  Imagine if each county got one vote tor governor regardless of the popular vote.  Might change the election calculus?

And, while we are at it, let’s repeal the Seventeenth Amendment (direct election of senators).  The old system was cheaper and gave the States their voice on unfunded mandates.

Argh!

Not like any new idea will succeed until secession begins in earnest.

That’s not gonna happen. Moscow is fully aware that going public with illegal work on banned biological weapons is an existential threat to the US Deep State. Especially when documents seized by the Russians show that Big Pharma – via Pfizer, Moderna, Merck and Gilead – was involved in several “experiments”. Fully exposing the whole maze, from the start, was one of Putin’s stated objectives.

Taiwan and South Korea, especially, should take note.

“Courts sanctioning lawyers pursuing election law claims in the heat of an election is a dangerous game that could allow election corruption to go unchecked,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “The partisan retaliation and harassment of lawyers involved in litigating the 2020 election dispute is unprecedented and undermines the rule of law – and courts should not take part in it.”

How anyone can say that there was no election fraud in the 2020 election is delusional!

The simultaneous “pause” in four key state in the middle of the night and DJT goes from being in the lead before the pause to losing after the pause is prima facie evidence of fraud.

The Deep State, the Corrupt Corporate Media, and Big Tech conspired to rig the election.

It’s obvious that the USA is now, and has been for awhile, a corrupt oligarchy.

“We, The Sheeple” should wait until they are loading people on the trains destined for camps to begin to resist.

One can only hope that we can get our liberty back.

“Yes. In the end, you will walk out. Because 100,000 Englishmen simply cannot control 350 million Indians, if those Indians refuse to cooperate.” — movie Gandhi (1983)

So to, one city filled with politicians and bureaucrats can not control 320 million Americans if we all refuse to cooperate.  Peaceful non-violent cooperation.

Pick your “battles” but just gum up the works.  The Canadian Truckers expose the tyrannical State in Canada.  Let’s do the same in the USA.

Save your nickels, bullion, and bitcoins.  The may inflate the dollar but it can’t touch real money.

Sen. Graham says it would be ‘a great service’ if a Kremlin official killed Putin

US Sen. Lindsey Graham called on Russians to assassinate President Vladimir Putin on Thursday night, as Ukraine pleaded with the West to fight the “nuclear terror.”

Graham (R-SC), 66, made the call to action on Twitter as he compared Putin to Roman dictator Julius Caesar and Nazi leader Adolf Hitler.

“Is there a Brutus in Russia? Is there a more successful Colonel Stauffenberg in the Russian military?” Graham wrote.

Maybe if Senator Graham was more familiar with the US Constitution, then he’d know there was a Constitutional appropriate way for Congress to express its disapproval.

Marque and Reprisal

ARTICLE I, SECTION 8, CLAUSE 11
The Congress shall have Power To …grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal….

At the time of the Founding, the sovereign of any nation could authorize holders of “letters of marque and reprisal” to engage in hostile actions against enemies of the state. The common understanding of “Reprisal” is a seizure of property (or sometimes persons) of a foreign state as redress for an injury committed by that state. Because the word “Marque” is the French equivalent of “Reprisal,” the constitutional term “Marque and Reprisal” is best understood as a single phrase.

The only serious debate over the meaning of the Marque and Reprisal Clause is not whether it extends to authorizing private parties (known as “privateers”) to engage in reprisals for private, commercial gain. Rather, it centers on whether the clause gives Congress authority over all forms of hostilities short of declared wars.

That debate mirrors the larger war powers debate over the Declare War Clause. Supporters of congressional power construe the Declare War Clause and the Marque and Reprisal Clause jointly to cover all forms of armed conflict, from covert action to a full and open armed conflict. Under this reading, the President lacks any power whatsoever to initiate hostilities (except perhaps defensively to repel invasions), no matter their scope. They contend that the Declare War Clause requires Congress to authorize wars, whereas the Marque and Reprisal Clause requires Congress to authorize lower level hostilities, whether by public forces or by privateers.

POLITICAL: “Inflation” is always a monetary phenomenon!

Key takeaways from President Biden’s State of the Union address
By Emily Crane
March 2, 2022

Tackling rising inflation

Biden said investment was needed in US manufacturing capacity in a bid to lower prices, speed up supply chains and boost American jobs.

“I think I have a better idea to fight inflation: lower costs, not your wages,” Biden said. “Instead of relying on foreign supply chains, let’s make it in America.”

*** end quote ***

“inflation is always and everywhere a monetary phenomenon” —  Nobel laureate Milton Friedman

So how can it “controlled” by any other action than “END THE FED”.

The Dead Old White Guys knew that inflation was tyranny from the phrase “Not worth a Continental damn”.  Hence the Constitutional restriction that only gold and silver could be “money”.  A restriction conveniently ignored by the politicians and bureaucrats in the early 1900’s.

How did that slip by the Supreme Court?)

For the better part of the 1800’s, “prices” were stable or declining.  (Money supply was relatively static while the supply of goods & services increased.). Everyone could save their cash and it would retain it’s value.

In the 1960’s, the money supply was inflated by FED “printing” and the purchasing power dropped dramatically (i.e., my favorite example is “penny candy”!).

Analysis: Push for Green Energy Not Russia’s Invasion of Ukraine Driving up Oil Prices, Threatening Security
PENNY STARR — 28 Feb 2022452

*** begin quote ***

The website oilprice.com posted an analysis about how the push for green energy years before Russia invaded Ukraine – and on steroids since Joe Biden became president – is to blame for soaring oil prices and foreign policy weakness.

The analysis begins with a story about a team from MetalMinder, “the largest metals-related media site in the U.S.”, on a trip to Germany in 2018 where they discovered people’s health suffered from coal pollution because after the Japanese Fukushima nuclear disaster it began shutting down its nuclear energy operations.

“In hindsight, that decision by Germany appears both foolish and ironic,” the team concluded. “Foolish because Germany has lost its negotiating power (pun intended) with Russia for which it relies.  It’s ironic because the country already had ‘clean energy’ but now must turn back to dirty energy to avoid blackouts.”

Germany on Friday shut down half of the six nuclear plants it still has in operation, a year before the country draws the final curtain on its decades-long use of atomic power. The decision to phase out nuclear power and shift from fossil fuels to renewable energy was first taken by the center-left government of Gerhard Schroeder in 2002. His successor, Angela Merkel, reversed her decision to extend the lifetime of Germany’s nuclear plants in the wake of the 2011 Fukushima disaster in Japan and set 2022 as the final deadline for shutting them down. The three reactors now being shuttered were first powered up in the mid-1980s. Together they provided electricity to millions of German households for almost four decades.

Greenies refuse to recognize that nuclear power is a “clean energy” source.

Argh!

How stupid are politicians and bureaucrats?

The free market would use prices and profits to ensure that all needs are met.

POLITICAL: A political prosecutor should not get two bites at the same “apple”!

Donald Trump, Ivanka and Don Jr. must testify in Letitia James’ probe: judge
By Priscilla DeGregory

*** begin quote ***

Donald Trump and his kids Ivanka and Donald Jr. must testify in New York Attorney General Letitia James’ investigation into the Trump Organization’s business dealings, a Manhattan judge ruled Thursday.

The Trump family trio has been fighting to quash the subpoenas for their sworn testimony, arguing that James’ office is targeting the former president for “selective prosecution” for political reasons and to bolster her career.

Trump’s camp says the AG’s office will use the depositions from the family members to aid a parallel criminal investigation by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office in conjunction with the AG’s Office, rather than calling the family members before a grand jury — which would give them immunity from civil claims involving the same facts.

But Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron denied the motions to quash the subpoenas in a decision Thursday afternoon and said the three Trump family members must appear for depositions within 21 days.

*** and ***

“Let’s say your clients are compelled … to appear for a deposition,”  Engoron asked the lawyers for the Trumps. “Can’t they refuse to answer?”

“Isn’t that what Eric Trump did 500 times? Why can’t your clients protect themselves by refusing to answer questions?” Engoron said, referring to Eric Trump having already been deposed in the case.

But lawyers for the Trumps responded that a judge or jury could then draw an “adverse inference” at trial against them for choosing not to answer questions.

Ronald Fischetti, a criminal defense lawyer for Donald Trump, responded, “If he takes the Fifth, how am I going to pick a jury if it’s all over town?”

“You can’t put your civil hat on and then put your criminal district attorney hat on when it suits you,” Trump’s civil lawyer Alina Habba said.

“The civil and criminal actions involve the same subject material,” Habba said. “You’re putting my client in a position where they disclose evidence in a civil investigation or they have to invoke their rights and have an adverse inference. How is that fair, your honor?”

*** end quote ***

I’m not a fan of any politician or bureaucrat.  But this is obviously unfair.

The prosecutor should be forced to adjudicate the personal criminal case BEFORE getting to try the civil case.

Anything less is unfair to ANY defendant.

POLITICAL: Release ALL the past “visitor logs” for EVERY past President?

Biden rejects Trump’s executive privilege claim and orders the release of ALL White House visitor logs to the January 6 committee

  • Joe Biden rejected Trump’s executive privilege claim to stop the National Archives from releasing White House visitor logs to the January 6 panel
  • Is the former president’s second attempt to block the release of documents from the Archives to the panel
  • Unclear if Trump will take this case the federal court like he did the last
  • Court ordered the Archives last month to hand over to the panel a batch of documents and materials from Trump’s administration

Joe Biden is rejecting another executive privilege claim by Donald Trump as he tries to invoke the right in order to withhold the White House visitor logs from the House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol riot.

In a letter sent to the National Archives on Tuesday, Biden’s White House Counsel Dana Remus told the archivist of the U.S. David Ferriero the agency should provide the material to the panel within 15 days.

Former President Trump is attempting to invoke executive privilege to keep the panel form obtaining the logs, just as he did with other White House documents that were turned over to the committee earlier this month.

The White House plans to inform Trump Wednesday morning of the rejection for his executive privilege claim.

Trump could try to block or slow the release of the logs like he did with other White House documents and materials.

NOW, I want EVERY past President’s visitor logs published.

I think the Bush’s, Clinton’s, and Obama’s would be very enlightening.

“Real Time” host Bill Maher returned from his holiday break Friday and took aim at liberals for their responses to and handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

Along the way, the HBO host commented on U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, NBA player Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets and U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor.

Maher kicked off the show’s panel discussion by listing all the COVID restrictions the United Kingdom is lifting from mask mandates to vaccine passports, saying “They’re getting back to normal, we should follow this.”

Unfortunately, it appears that Joe Biden is using sex & race as a critical criteria for deciding who to nominate for the Breyer’s replacement.

And, worse, when selections are made for “appearance”, then we wind up with a Justice like Sonia Sotomayor.  Virtually illiterate about the facts around Covid.

Hopefully the Senate will do it’s job and maybe administer an IQ test.

The death knell sounded in 1971 when the United States government repudiated the last vestige of its promise to redeem its dollars for gold. Debt would be the coin of the realm. The bland term “financialization” hides the moral obscenity. Each year the nation’s debt has grown. Production, when netted against that debt, has shrunk, and an increasingly large portion of what remains is diverted to those who don’t produce. Washington decides who gets what, but it can’t command the what. That shrinks as productive virtue is penalized and theft, fraud, and violence are rewarded.

POLITICAL: I guess that a low-income student is subjected to the violent, chaotic “environment” of a failing inner-city school is fine?

What’s So Frightening about Parochial Schools?
By Shannon Whitworth
January 07, 2022

*** begin quote ***

Based on the questioning coming from the Court in the Maine case, the general consensus is that the Court is leaning toward striking down the law that bans vouchers from use in parochial schools. Predictably, the reaction by the public school establishment has been over the top. These parochial school critics don’t want to pay for a school to teach any religion (other than Atheism). They are characterizing religious schools as bastions of intolerance, indoctrinating mindless drones who will take the first opportunity to attack the nearest available marginalized group they can find. Taxpayer dollars, they argue, should not go toward educating a child in such an environment. But these critics don’t mind if that low-income student is subjected to the violent, chaotic “environment” of a failing inner-city school. How is that attitude serving children in need?

A former vice principal at Milwaukee Lutheran would end the days’ announcements with “I love you. More importantly, He loves you.”

Love is at the heart of any great education. In this respect, it is the power of a parochial school to restore not only one’s faith in God, but also a struggling child’s hope for the future—generally, with better academics thrown in as a bonus. Any rational thinker would think that is taxpayer money well spent.

*** end quote ***

As a taxpayer paying for this “national disaster”, I am shocked that Gooferment Skrules are allowed to abuse these poor children.
