Known as the “Hale DeMar Act” for a Wilmette man who shot a burglar in his home and was temporarily charged for violating the Wilmette handgun ban (until public outrage caused the Cook County prosecutor to drop the charge), the law was passed by a legislative veto override in November 2004. Then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich had vetoed the bill, after then-State Sen. Barack Hussein Obama had voted against the legislation twice.

Sorry, but the right of self defense is meaningless without the RKBA. The Second Amendment is the palladium of liberty.

You only have to ask one question to determine if the person is a libertarian or a control freak.

“What about guns?”

Any other answer than “I trust the people with guns” means you have a very dangerous person answering. They want to control you.

Every time I read about an “accidental shooting” by a child, I wonder how much of it is TV. People get shot on TV all the time and shrug it off. In real life, you get shot with virtually anything larger than a 22 and you ain’t getting up any time soon. Firearms are a tool. Children need to be taught. Just like with any tool, it’s about respect. That’s what Dad’s are supposed to do. Aren’t they? Do they?

“Charges are pending against a man who was shot in the chest by a Jarales resident while allegedly trying to break in.Valencia County Sheriff’s Deputy Chris Trujillo said the shooting occurred shortly after midnight on New Years Day at a house on Mill Road. According to the deputy, the homeowner, whose name has not been released, heard someone trying to break into his home and called 911. I don’t understand. Like arming the commercial air line pilots, don’t we trust these guys? Hard to imagine a worse outcome. Terrorists and criminals don’t observe laws; honest people do. For that, we give them a death sentence.

But, then you know I want to arm the school principals, janitors, and teachers.

The gun is just a tool to dispose of varmints — two legged and four legged.

I trust my fellow citizens. Don’t you?
