Why Chicago shooting deflates anti-gun philosophy everywhere…including Seattle

In the aftermath, gun prohibitionist groups are silent. It appears clear the older man will not be charged for violating the city’s handgun ban, thanks to a 2004 Illinois statute that protects homeowners who use handguns to defend themselves, even if having the gun violates a local handgun ban ordinance. Known as the “Hale DeMar Act” for a Wilmette man who shot a burglar in his home and was temporarily charged for violating the Wilmette handgun ban (until public outrage caused the Cook County prosecutor to drop the charge), the law was passed by a legislative veto override in November 2004. Then-Gov. Rod Blagojevich had vetoed the bill, after then-State Sen. Barack Hussein Obama had voted against the legislation twice.

Sorry, but the right of self defense is meaningless without the RKBA. The Second Amendment is the palladium of liberty.

You only have to ask one question to determine if the person is a libertarian or a control freak.

“What about guns?”

Any other answer than “I trust the people with guns” means you have a very dangerous person answering. They want to control you.

Be afraid. Be very afraid.

Criminals and gooferment will be in control of your life!

Guns as Equalizers

*** begin quote ***

I am reminded of the classical definition of a liberal: someone who would rather see a woman raped and strangled with her own panty-house rather than defend herself with a handgun.

I trust a woman with a gun more than any cop or politician!

GUNS: Teach the young for their own good

Tuesday, March 23, 2010

“As I looked at my two young sons, each with his gun, and considered how much the safety of the party depended on these little fellows, I felt grateful to you, dear husband, for having acquainted them in childhood with the use of firearms.” – Elisabeth Robinson, narrating in “The Swiss Family Robinson” by Johann David Wyss

# – # – #

Every time I read about an “accidental shooting” by a child, I wonder how much of it is TV. People get shot on TV all the time and shrug it off. In real life, you get shot with virtually anything larger than a 22 and you ain’t getting up any time soon. Firearms are a tool. Children need to be taught. Just like with any tool, it’s about respect. That’s what Dad’s are supposed to do. Aren’t they? Do they?

“Every person has a natural, fundamental and inalienable human, individual, civil and Constitutional right to obtain and carry their weapon of choice without asking anyone’s permission.”

GUNS: Everyone NEEDS an AK47

Automatic for the People: The AK-47
by C.J. Maloney

*** begin quote ***

Alexander Hamilton wrote in The Federalist No. 29 that should the federal government ever turn despotic it “can never be formidable to the liberties of the people while there is a large body of citizens, little, if at all, inferior to them in discipline and the use of arms.” If every American family had an AK-47 hanging on the wall over the 46” wide-screen plasma, that’d force enough to give any army pause.

So next May Day, assuming you remember it at all, take a moment to honor the memory of the millions slaughtered over the lethally stupid idea of communism, but give a nod to God’s great mercy, to His mysterious way that willed that very same idea to birth the AK-47. It gave to the working masses the ability to defend themselves from the more virulent strain of politicians; it is the sword of the common man. Of all the firearms yet dreamed up by mankind, it is the automatic for the people.

*** end quote ***

Why you might ask?

One: Do you think the politicians or the police fear the people?

Two: See the rising crime rate in unarmed Britan? And the number of home invasions?

Third, See the Tea Party rallies? Congressional Town Halls? They do any good?

Fourth. Dial 911 and die!

Nope, it’s time to defend yourself!

GUNS: To preserve the peace

My gun: A most necessary tool

*** begin quote ***

Until we, as a society, relearn that guns are tools, we will continue to put armed citizens like Roderick Scott on trial. Until we, as a people, remember that guns are technology – that they are neither good nor evil, possessing neither volition nor intent as inanimate objects – we will continue to uphold victimhood as morally preferable to using force in self-defense. Until we, as a society, stop vilifying law-abiding, productive members of society who take responsibility for the protection of their homes, their families and their property, we will continue contributing to the problem of crime in an increasingly out-of-control nation.

*** end quote ***

It may seem incongruous to talk about guns on the birthday of the Prince of Peace.

BUT, (there is always a big butt), how do we have peace?

By being “peaceful”. And that translates to everyone having a “piece”.

Heinlein said it best: “An armed society is a polite society.”

GUNS: Fort Hood is a gun free zone?

Tuesday, November 17, 2009

Updated November 10, 2009
Time to Put An End to Army Bases as Gun-Free Zones
John R. Lott, Jr.

*** begin quote ***

For the safety of our soldiers and citizens, we hope that this simple fact about the Ft. Hood attack and the role that gun-free zones played in allowing yet another multiple victim public shooting becomes part of the news coverage itself. The political debate about guns would be quite different if even once in a while a news story clearly explained that there has been another multiple victim public shooting in a gun-free zone.

*** end quote ***

I don’t understand. Like arming the commercial air line pilots, don’t we trust these guys? Hard to imagine a worse outcome. Terrorists and criminals don’t observe laws; honest people do. For that, we give them a death sentence.

But, then you know I want to arm the school principals, janitors, and teachers.

The gun is just a tool to dispose of varmints — two legged and four legged.

I trust my fellow citizens. Don’t you?
