ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has a plan to spend $2 billion to address water contamination and the state’s aging, leaky pipes.

While that sounds like a lot of money, it’s only a fraction of the $80 billion the state’s own experts say will be needed in coming years.

The state has some of the oldest drinking water and sewer systems in the nation, and contaminants from decades of industrial activity pose another problem.

Sorry, but imagine a world where a private corporation was supplying water?

Don’t you think that they would have amortized the cost of replacements into a sinking fund. So that when it came time to replace old pipes, it would be “No Big Deal”. Depreciation is a real expense and only the Gooferment, its politicians and bureaucrats, and the general public seems to be ignorant of it.

Argh!

Privatize, privatize, and more privatization is needed.

In Seaside Heights, made infamous by the MTV reality show “Jersey Shore,” authorities still plan to rebuild an amusement park that had its roller coaster swept into the surf by the storm. But the town gave up on returning the park to a pier that jutted out into the water, opting instead for a new location on the beach.

Seaside Heights NJ 08751 will never be the same. It may never regain it past “glory”. Even though it survived MTV’s “Jersey Shore” reality show — where Brooklyn studs and sluts were portrayed as “Jerzee”. Argh!

Like “authorities still plan” and “the town gave up”!

Neither the citizens of nor the taxpayers to the “Borough of Seaside Heights” were ever polled. In fact, continuing a town tradition of rule by the elite, in the days after the storm, property “owners” were prevented from reentry. Who knows what happened during those weeks? But we do know from news footage that the boardwalk owners met often with the “town officials” about what would happen.

Argh!

It’s a sad state of affairs when the Sheeple are treated so badly.

Another time when I’m not so aggrieved, let’s talk about the phony “Federal Flood Insurance” program and the fraud it is.

As Dick Morris points out, it’s self-evident that they directed the unnamed (in the FBI report) to delete the emails. 

That’s a felony.

They should be indicted and, if found guilty, send to the Federal country club prison. Martha did a lot less!

At the very least, since Mills and Kendall are lawyers, they should be brought before the bar for censure or disbarment. (WJC was.)

Relying on the fear tactics and uninformed attitudes of a century ago, the DEA—reportedly leaning heavily on the FDA’s conclusions about cannabis—has rejected a 5-year-old petition to reclassify the drug from Schedule I, which lists drugs like heroin, to Schedule II, which includes oxycodone.

Whether or not the decision helps or harms patients in the long run remains unclear, but it certainly reflects a dangerous and hypocritical throwback attitude about cannabis that will only add to distrust of governmental oversight agencies, making their decisions look like political or moral judgments rather than being evidence based.

Intellectually, legally, and morally.

How can anyone say that Marijuana has no medicinal value?
