Manhattan bodega worker, 51, knifes gangster, 37, to death after he jumped counter and attacked him over cost of bag of chips: Locals demand he’s released from Rikers Island where he is held on $250,000 bond
- Surveillance footage caught the moment a New York City bodega worker allegedly stabbed a customer to death after the man pushed him
- Jose Alba, 51, was seen sitting behind a counter at the Blue Moon Convenient Store when 37-year-old Austin Simon confronted him
- Simon then pushed the man into a shelf before yelling at another customer trying to purchase something from the store
- He then pulls Alba out of the chair, at which point Alba allegedly pulls out a large knife, which he plunges into Simon’s neck and chest at least five times
- Simon was later pronounced dead at a local hospital

NJ Democrat Gov. Phil Murphy Signs ‘Gun Safety Package 3.0,’ Requiring Database of All Ammo Sold in State
AWR Hawkins 5 Jul 2022

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy (D) signed “Gun Safety Package 3.0” Tuesday, creating a database of all ammo sold in the state and putting six other new gun controls in place.
NJ.com notes that the legislation also bans .50 caliber rifles, requires “micro-stamping technology” on certain new firearms, and “[makes] it easier to sue gun manufacturers and dealers over gun crimes in the state.”
Murphy referred to the seven new gun laws as “commonsense” and “smart.”
He tweeted a video of himself signing the gun control legislation:

Man sucker-punches woman, 89, in face on Manhattan street

An 89-year-old woman was sucker-punched in the face by a man as she walked on an Upper Manhattan street this week, police said. The NYPD released images Friday of the suspect in Monday’s assault in Washington Heights. Police said the victim was walking with her family on W. 161st Street, near Broadway, around 4:30 p.m. when the man came up and slugged her in the face. The victim suffered an injury to her right eye and cheek. She refused medical attention, according to police. The assailant was last seen fleeing eastbound on W. 161st Street. Police believe he’s between 20…

Celebrate the True Meaning of Freedom on Independence Day
*** begin quote ***
For some, freedom means the right to vote, for others it represents the opportunity for an education. Two months ago the VLB Voices of Veterans Oral History Program launched a video project called “What Freedom Means” as a way to honor our Veterans and military members on this upcoming Independence Day. We asked Texas Veterans, military members and their supporters to share their thoughts and feelings about freedom and why it’s meaningful to them.
*** and ***
All of these ideas about the liberty we enjoy remind us that we owe a lot to our Veterans and military members without whom none of these freedoms would exist. They are proud to wear their uniforms and serve this great nation, and in turn, we are proud to honor and serve them.
On this Fourth of July, as you reflect upon the anniversary of our independence, we ask that you express your gratitude to a Veteran or military member for the great sacrifices they have made for our country.
We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!
*** end quote ***
I wonder how many people even think about how many have died or worse to “give” us out “freedom”?
I’m sure all the politicians and bureaucrats will out in force to lead parades. But have been selling us into bondage.

We Should Immediately End Nationalized Funding of Student Tuition
By Jerome Corsi
*** begin quote ***
On March 30, 2010, Obama signed the Health Care and Education Act charging the U.S. Department of Education to make 100 percent of all government-funded college loans, effective on July 1 of that year. In 2010, student loan debt totaled $760 billion. In 2022, the total outstanding student loan debt will more than double to a record $1.7 trillion. In 2017, a study by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York concluded that “more federal aid to students enables colleges to raise tuition more.” Raising U.S. higher education tuition costs to a level middle-class families cannot afford is not a problem as long as the government makes the taxpayer pay the price.

Comcast-less in Seattle —
Jon Brodkin – 6/29/2022, 7:30 AM
Couple bought home in Seattle, then learned Comcast Internet would cost $27,000
*** begin quote ***
When Zachary Cohn and his wife bought a house in the Northgate neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, they didn’t expect any trouble getting home Internet service. It was only after closing on the house in July 2019 that they learned the bad news. “All six neighbors I share a property line with are wired for Comcast, but our house never was,” Cohn told Ars.
Comcast’s predecessor company had wired up the neighborhood with cable decades earlier and the ISP provides high-speed broadband to the abutting properties. But the cable TV and Internet service provider never extended a line to the house purchased by Cohn and his wife, Lauryl Zenobi.
Cohn spent many months trying to get answers from Comcast on how he and Zenobi could get Internet service. Eventually, he contacted his City Councillor’s office, which was able to get a real response from Comcast.
Comcast ultimately said it would require installing 181 feet of underground cable to connect the house and that the couple would have to pay Comcast over $27,000 to make that happen. Cohn and Zenobi did not pay the $27,000, and they’ve been relying on a 4G hotspot ever since.

If you think Joe Biden’s bad, just imagine President Kamala …
By Piers Morgan
June 28, 2022
*** begin quote ***
Picture the scene:
It’s July 4, 2023, and President Kamala Harris is about to address the American people about Vladimir Putin’s decision to invade Poland.
She’s been leader of the free world for six months since Joe Biden, implementing the 25th Amendment, abruptly resigned on the grounds of physical and mental incapacity after the Democrats suffered the worst midterm election mauling in history, losing 120 House seats and eight Senate seats.
This beat President Grover Cleveland’s long-held ignominious 1892 record of “biggest midterm wipe-out ever” and meant the Republicans seized back full control of Congress with paralyzing, agenda-wrecking majorities.
(It was reported that Biden fell into a spontaneous catatonic state after seeing the sheer size of his failure to persuade Americans he was doing a good job, though it took White House aides several days to realize he wasn’t acting normally.)
President Harris’ tenure in office has bordered on the miraculous, in that she has managed to be even worse than her predecessor — something political experts didn’t think was possible.
In fact, her presidency has been a catalog of calamities, dominated by woke-ravaged lunacy.
Her first decision was to make freshperson Congressperson Megan Rapinoe her vice president, saying how delighted she was to appoint the first gay woman to such high office — only for Rapinoe to wreck the historic moment by issuing a furious statement saying she now identified as a non-binary bisexual womb-carrier, so had never been so offended and was quitting before she even started.
*** end quote ***
Well, since we know Slo Joe isn’t running things, who’s running the show now?
Maybe Kamala might be slightly better?

French President Macron: abortion is a fundamental right for women
# – # – # – # – #
As a fat old white guy injineer, I struggle when people use words that make no sense. When they add adjectives, they don’t seem to help my understanding.
A “right” is a meme that humans have agreed that everyone “has” by virtue of their humanity with respect to other humans.
You can chat with a lion, bear, or tiger, about your “rights”. “Rights” have to be backed up with or enforced by force. In polite society, “rights” are mutually agreed after a long violent process of “adjudication”.
Now we can discuss “positive” and “negative” rights. If you have a “negative” right, it’s somethings others agree not to interfere with (i.e., “free speech”). If you have a positive “right”, then who has an obligation to provide it?
Hence, little L libertarians don’t believe there are any “positive” rights.
Now let us parse Macron’s statement: “fundamental right”.
Clearly, he is stating a case for a “positive” right. Who pays? Who is FORCED to provide this service?
I don’t understand what “fundamental” adds to the equation.
And, we have to understand that “abortion” is killing a living human being. Seriously, does anyone believe that life doesn’t NOT begin at conception.
Finally, how about that human life that is being killed? When do that young human get their “rights”? If you have to draw lines, the ones that have been suggested are: conception, first heartbeat, end of the first trimester, when “born”. From my pov as a fat old white guy injineer, it when that child can defend his “rights” — for sure!
Sigh!

Ford eliminates end-of-lease purchase option for EVs

The “game” may be having a “rules” change because used cars are more valuable than the lease’s return price.
So that means you the leaser (i.e., sucker) paid more for the value of the lease than calculated and you can’t recapture that at the end of the lease by selling the “pig” privately.
Seems like something akin to theft by fraud.

D.C. woman leaves town to help mother, returns home to destroyed Jeep
By Matt Delaney – The Washington Times – Thursday, June 23, 2022
*** begin quote ***
A D.C. resident received an unwelcome surprise when she returned home after spending months away: her Jeep had been destroyed.
Susan Hekhuis left the area at the end of February to take care of her elderly mother, who had broken her leg. But when Ms. Hekhuis sent a friend to check on her Jeep a few weeks ago, that’s when her sorry tale began, Washington NBC TV affiliate WRC-4 reported.
“There I am trying to take care of my mom and do my job and take care of a million other things, and the last thing on my mind was that you towed my car and destroyed it,” she said.
News4 reported that D.C.’s Department of Public Works had towed Ms. Hekhuis’ vehicle from its original spot on Calvert Street NW since it was along the Rock n’ Roll Half Marathon route.
The only problem is that the Jeep was towed to Connecticut Avenue NW, where street parking isn’t allowed during rush hour. The car racked up five tickets in two weeks, causing it to get towed again, this time to DPW’s impound lot in Blue Plains.
*** end quote ***
Sounds like the D.C.’s Department of Public Works owes her a new car and an apology.
When they towed her car, doesn’t that mean they have a duty to protect that asset until it’s returned to its rightful owner.
Sounds like a Fifth Amendment claim.
Argh!

The Truth Regarding Health Care
By Keith R. Jackson, M.D.
*** begin quote ***
There already exist many programs for the poor and uninsured. These could be streamlined and sensibly expanded. What would classify as a necessary addition to the equation would be possible assistance with deductibles and expansion of catastrophic insurance policies for the rest of us. Improving the portability of Health Savings Accounts, making them easier to understand and obtain, would address the former. A creative solution merging government assistance with HSAs and catastrophic insurance policies could go a long way toward appeasing both sides, even though they would scream that this “solution” is wrong. One avenue for saving is the cost of administration of the health care dollar. Private insurers’ administrative costs are surprisingly much higher than the government’s. There must be a “happy medium” there, with less bureaucracy in the former and more effective administration in the latter.
*** end quote ***
I think you can look at ANY Gooferment program and see a disaster.
As a first step, the current deductibility problem (i.e., healthcare expense is deductible to employers but not employees) has to be SOLVED.
Then let that work itself out by removing the Gooferment from the “health care system”.

I recently turned a fun event for my fiancée into a disaster when I couldn’t pick her up promptly after the Paul McCartney concert ended.
I had studied the map and instructions about drop off and pick off. I was very familiar with the venue giving that I’d live in the vicinity for decades.
So the drop off worked well. Lot C next to E. And we agreed that’s where we would meet.
After dropping her off, I scouted the area and figured out where I could wait. Got back about 10PM and the concert would end at 1030. About 10:15, the crowd started to break.
When I tried my path to the pickup, I found all roads blocked and made outbound only. Argh! For the better part of an hour, I tried different ways to get to the pickup point.
Finally, I went with the flow and circled around the venue on connecting roads about 2 miles out. Then I tried to reenter closest to the pickup lot. Cut through a blocked gate with I moved and used a handicapped ramp break in the curbing to get to the rendezvous point 90 mintiest after the concert ended. Argh!
AFTER ACTION REPORT
Found out that the parking lots were free after 8, so I could have just parked by the rendezvous point.
Upon reflection, I should have went to the rendezvous point long before traffic pattern was with to OUT ONLY.
All directions that I was given by the traffic folks was universally wrong except for the one guy who said: “You can’t there from here.”
Argh!

Ten Years Later: Over 53K Illegal Aliens Given DACA Despite Arrest Records Including for Murder, Rape, Kidnapping
John Binder — 17 Jun 20221
*** begin quote ***
Ten years ago, in 2012, former President Barack Obama created the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program via executive order that has allowed nearly 800,000 illegal aliens to evade arrest and deportation.
Standards for the Obama program were set so low that tens of thousands of illegal aliens with prior arrest records for crimes like murder, rape, and kidnapping were able to secure DACA status.
In 2018, then-President Trump’s administration released comprehensive data on DACA, previously hidden by the Obama administration, that revealed the extent to which the program had successfully helped shield criminal illegal aliens from arrest and deportation by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency.
From 2012 to 2018, about 53,792 illegal aliens were awarded DACA despite having prior arrest records. Meanwhile, nearly 8,000 illegal aliens awarded DACA were later arrested for crimes, the data shows.fe
*** end quote ***
This is more evidence that the Gooferment’s politicians and bureaucrats have a different agenda than “We, The Sheeple”. If they are not going to enforce the laws, then why do we bother to pretend.
At the every least DACA should not cover felons. And, probably not even those who make a “nuisance” of themselves.
I don’t think anyone opposes immigration of hard working people seeking a better life; everyone else should be shipped “home”.

A Stranger’s Kindness Helped Boy Escape the Nazis Who Would Go On to Win Nobel Prize–And He Never Knew it
By Andy Corbley – Jun 15, 2022
*** begin quote ***
What would you do if in the middle of the night, a stranger asked you to legally declare your financial support for an immigrant family that you would never meet—and hadn’t even arrived in your country yet?
That was essentially the proposition that Barnet Yudin, a Russian-American Jew, faced one night in 1938 when a stranger, who was going door-to-door, appealed to the man asking if he could help a Jewish family from Germany flee to North America.
While Yudin hadn’t gone on to be the doctor he dreamed of being, he and his family lived comfortably in Belleville, New Jersey—and his job as a paint salesmen brought in a healthy $120 a month.
*** and ***
“None of these people would exist today without Barnet Yudin,” David said, emphasizing the difference that Yudin’s choice made.
Joe Yudin, a great-grandson, told Nat Geo that his grandfather didn’t say, “Is this kid going to win the Nobel someday, or play shortstop for the Yankees? He did what he did because it was right and didn’t mention it to anybody. He definitely had this big picture of what humanity should be like.”
*** end quote ***
I heard stories about the “affidavit of support” and how difficult it was to get through the bureaucrats in the USA.
What a difference from today when criminals work across the southern border with impunity.
Here a fellow that did the right thing. Even though no one knew about it for generations later.
(Ever heard that old Irish adage about “good works only count if done in secret”. Funny, I learned that from my maternal English Protestant grandmother who wanted to teach me about my maternal grandfather’s “heathen Irish culture that has a few good points”. ROFL!)
Here’s an example!

I found this fascinating and shows how dikw (i.e., data, information, knowledge, wisdom) has been lost. Wonder what else they knew that we don’t. Dental cement that lasts a thousand years?

‘GREAT SOCIETY’; Lyndon B. Johnson in 1965, this was the greatest devastation, wrong doing on the African-American society, it ‘broke’ them, damaged them; 100 years post slavery 1865 ending…
- From 1865-1965, 100 years, African-Americans were on their way up and out, doing tremendously well, only 1 in 4 homes was a single parent; then Lyndon’s program ‘helping’, destroyed them

‘Hollowed’ out African-Americans, cavitated the society, and did it under the guise of ‘doing good by you’. It is an incredible situation.
The truth is, African-Americans were outpacing whites even, based on pure hard work, skill, drive, capability, for the 1st 100 years post abolishment of slavery, 1865 to 1965. With nothing other than pure hard work. Love of America, its flag, using its customs and deep faith and love of family as its glue and fuel. The Great Society in 1965 then functioned to degrade everything that held Black America together as a coherent peoples who were ‘making’ it without any government intervention or help. Making it on their own strength.

“If the Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan wanted to sabotage black academic excellence, he could not find a more effective means to do so than the government school system in most cities.” — Walter Williams’s May 6th, 2010
I can testify to the destructiveness of LBJ’s “help”. We are now witnessing the fourth generation of “welfare farmers”. I see poor white and black welfare recipients being “held down by the Man”. Argh!
Parochial education is destroyed. Family values are denigrated. Churches are a hollow shell of what they once were.
We need to free the children — all the children — from the tyranny of Gooferment Skrules.
Remember the current “education system” was created by the Prussians to create cannon fodder for the Army, willing morons for the factories, and useful idiots to vote for and be led by the elite. Ask where the elite send their children to be educated? With the notable exception on Amy Carter, it ain’t to Gooferment Skrules.
Let’s start SEPARATING the Gooferment from running things. Starting with schools.
Argh!

Fusion Centers: A Dangerous Surveillance Partnership
By: jprivate|Published on: Apr 8, 2022|Categories: Surveillance

A damning report on the Maine Information Analysis Center (MIAC) or Fusion Center, reveals just how intertwined corporate and government surveillance of the public has become.
Fusion centers are notoriously secretive about public surveillance and what little we know can be summed up thusly: “official secrecy, moreover, cloaks fusion centers, so what little public information is available on a particular fusion center rarely provides much detail on its unique profile.”
The MIAC Shadow Report reveals how law enforcement goes out of their way to hide who’s actually in charge of public surveillance and is preoccupied with people committing conventional crimes.
The report begins by revealing what many of us already knew or suspected; fusion centers have been and continue to surveil protesters and activists.
“Fusion centers are the nerve system of mass criminalization” the report warns. A major concern of the authors is how fusion centers use private corporations to conduct secret facial recognition and social media surveillance of ‘people of interest’ and warns that self-governing fusion centers are fraught with peril.
Despite there being a statewide ban on using facial recognition to ID innocent people, in Maine, there is evidence MIAC uses data brokers to do an end-run around privacy bans.

Containing Gooferment bureaucrats is like trying to put toothpaste back in the tube.
This threat to our liberty needs to be addressed but the politicians and bureaucrats like it this way just fine.
Argh!

Second Graders Wrote Adorable Letters On Behalf Of Shelter Animals To Get Them Adopted, And It Worked Interview
*** begin quote ***
Kensey Jones, a volunteer at RACC (Richmond Animal Care & Control) and a second grade teacher, decided to combine her wholesome activities together. Despite their lack of language skills, children can be very persuasive. The second-graders at St. Michael’s Episcopal School in Richmond, Virginia, practiced their persuasive writing under a very peculiar set of circumstances.
What did they do, exactly? They tried writing from a shelter animal’s perspective to persuade potential adopters to, well, adopt. They wrote cute texts and drew portraits of the animals all by themselves. Scroll down to read the whole story, and see how it turned out! Spoilers: the mission was successful.

Give that teacher a raise. And, extend the idea across the nation.
I thought the idea was great and the results were even better.
