Exclusive: Feds and State AG Investigate an Alleged Human Trafficking Empire Run in Springfield, Ohio, for Years by ‘King George’
*** begin quote ***
Dispatches from Springfield, Ohio – The story in this town is not about cats or dogs. It’s about mules. It’s a twin tragedy of migrant workers from Haiti exploited and locals from Springfield marginalized. Just about every week since 2019, First Diversity Staffing Group Inc. has shuttled vulnerable Haitian migrants in unmarked white Ford and Chevy vans from Florida to Ohio, where they are allegedly exploited for cheap labor by companies like Dole Food Company Inc. It is a secretive and sinister operation that has gone unchecked for more than five years. The mastermind behind this scheme lives in a $1.35 million mansion on Pawleys Plantation Court. His name is George Ten, but in that underworld, his nickname is “King George,” because of his opulent lifestyle of luxury cars, cash handouts and fast-talk. For years, he has operated his reign of alleged exploitation openly and freely out of a former mansion on E. High Street.

*** and ***
What began as my efforts to track down a rumor about animal cruelty has turned into an investigation that reveals a malignant system of labor exploitation involving a local businessman, George Ten, whom Haitians and local residents call “King George,” the chief executive at First Diversity Staffing Group Inc., a Springfield company that has been the tip of the spear in the alleged trafficking operation of Haitians to the town.
While Haitians have lived in homes condemned now with an “X” on the front door, he lives in a $1.35 million mansion on Pawleys Plantation Court in a ritzy neighborhood called “Estates at Country Club of the North.”
*** and ***
This is a story of unchecked greed and cruelty, committed not by the immigrants, but to the immigrants, with local residents of Springfield also a casualty.
As most journalists learn through experience, things are rarely as they seem. When the allegation of migrants eating cats and dogs exploded across the media, I knew there was more beneath the surface. What began as an investigation into animal cruelty quickly revealed a much darker reality—a large-scale human trafficking operation.
I arrived in Springfield from my home in Morgantown, W.V., a town much like Springfield in size and scale. I wanted to get to the bottom of this story. I came to Springfield because I felt a connection to the immigrants and the locals here, both their stories echoing my own experience growing up uniting two worlds. I moved to the U.S. with my brother when I was four years old, joining our parents as they made the difficult move in search of a better life, and when I was 10, we settled in West Virginia.

Maybe DJT45 may have gotten the story wrong about animal cruelty, there is an underlying story that’s a lot worse.

The problem with the death penalty is that there is no “undo” function and mistakes happen. Whatever the reason — an “honest” mistake or some sort of discrimination — a mistake can be corrected. But not if the mistake is deadly.

Automattic CEO Matt Mullenweg said on Thursday that 159 employees (roughly 8.4% of staff) accepted a severance package that the company had offered to those who disagreed with his direction of WordPress and his handling of the tussle with web hosting provider WP Engine.
In a blog post, Mullenweg said the package offered $30,000 or six months of salary, whichever is higher, but the employees who took it would not be eligible to be re-hired by Automattic.
Nearly 80% of people who took the offer worked in the company’s Ecosystem / WordPress division, and the rest were in Automattic’s Cosmos businesses, consisting of apps like Pocket Casts, Day One, Tumblr and Cloudup.

Once again, wage slaves must always be looking for their next job or gig. Unless they have their FU money in a safe store like an annuity, they must be ready when their CEO, organization, or a regulatory agency loses their mind and commits suicide or murder.
When this happens it is NOT the time to begin to think about your resume. Back when I was first fired — and I was 4½ times — I was only surprised the FIRST time. Thanks to that employers’ outplacement, I learned a valuable lesson. I am the Captain of My Own Ship, the CEO, CFO, CTO, Marketing Manager, Sales Manager, Sales Person, and Product De Jour. I even had a “VP of Product Development” reporting to the CFO! From that day forward, until the day I retired, I had a monthly “meeting” on the First Sunday of every month early in the morning. First thing, without fail, although I did serve coffee, I would put on each of my metaphorical hats and review my work in that role. Was I always happy as I reviewed my “subordinate personality’s” accomplishments? No, but I was never “surprised” again.
When presented with a “surprise”, I immediately shifted gears seamlessly into “active job search” from “passive job search”. Was I stressed by the “surprise”? Yes, but my first action after filing for unemployment (Have to “steal” back as much as possible from what the various Gooferments “stole” from me!), was to take a week of vacation. Calms the soul and refreshes the spirit.
YMMV but be ever vigilant.

Here is a previous open letter that was sent to you two years ago just before the highly weaponized Hurricane Ian ravaged the state of Florida quite deliberately before Election Day.

The Penalty on American Savers and How USAs Fix It
By Adam N. Michel and Joshua Loucks
*** begin quote ***
For many young and low-income Americans, the limits discourage them from using the accounts at all. Americans who use these accounts and then have to access their money early for a family emergency or job loss face new layers of taxes. Many low-income workers are automatically enrolled in these programs by their employers, following government incentives or mandates.
Money deposited in qualified accounts cannot be used flexibly based on an individual’s or their family’s immediate needs. If someone cannot confidently commit to leaving their savings untouched until the government-designated time, it may be wiser for them to avoid using a qualified account altogether.
IRS data show that for the lowest-income taxpayers, penalties for improper use of retirement savings make up a significant portion of their tax liability. Using an average from tax years 2017–2019, Figure 1 shows that 43 percent of all taxes paid by taxpayers with adjusted gross income (AGI) below $5,000 went to penalties for accessing their own money. About 19 percent of income taxes paid by taxpayers with AGI less than $25,000 went to penalties on qualified accounts.

Because Libgen’s admins remain anonymous and elusive—and previously avoided paying a different set of publishers $15 million in 2017—McMahon granted publishers’ request for an uncommonly broad injunction that may empower publishers to go further than ever to destroy the shadow library.
Under the injunction, not only is Libgen banned from sharing copyrighted content, but so are “all those in active concert or participation with” anyone connected to Libgen. The order forbids anyone from hosting Libgen, registering Libgen domains, or providing cloud storage, file-sharing, or advertising services, among other restrictions. Even using tools to display links or enabling browser extensions linking to Libgen is forbidden under the order.
But even under such a broad injunction, the question remains whether publishers can succeed in taking down Libgen—which openly informs users that using its platform violates copyright laws and encourages them to pirate books anyway.

How Long is a “Lifetime”?
By Eric – September 25, 2024
*** begin quote ***
One of the great scams perpetrated on car buyers is selling them on the idea of “lifetime” fluids – such as transmission fluid, for instance. And coolant. Also oil changes that don’t require doing but once every 7,500 (or even more) miles.
It’s sold this way to sell them on “low maintenance costs” – and that’s true. You just pay for it later, in the form of expensive repair costs caused or hastened by those “low maintenance costs.”
The trick works like this:
Advertise “lifetime” fluids – which leads the mark to believe that means forever. As in the fluid never needs to be changed. What it actually means is for the lifetime . . . of the warranty coverage. And that’s probably true. Those numbers – ten years, 100,000 miles as an example – are not picked out of a hat. They are arrived at after extensive durability studies that accurately foretell how long a component such as a transmission will probably last before it fails if it isn’t serviced during its “lifetime.”
*** and ***
It’s not so much that the fluids – such as the hydraulic fluid in an automatic transmission (or the gear oil in a manual transmission or engine oil) go bad. It is that they get contaminated with the byproducts of mechanical components meshing and unmeshing in an environment of high heat and pressure. Inevitably, the contaminants build up, inevitable reducing the anti-friction properties of the fluid. Fine particles accrue, like plaque inside our arteries, with the same inevitable result. A filter will filter out a lot of these small bits but what happens when the filter can no longer filter – because it’s full of those small bits and pieces?
It stops filtering.

10 Million Illegal Aliens: What Is to Be Done?
By Randall Childs
<< 2024-09Sep-25 Wed >>
*** begin quote ***
After the economy, illegal immigration ranks highest among voters’ concerns. President Trump has spoken of “mass deportations” of the more than ten million illegal aliens who have flooded our country under Biden-Harris. That’s appealing political rhetoric to the base, but he needs to build policy muscle upon the rhetorical bones.
First, the optics. We’re talking ten million people, and then some. Men, women, children, oldsters, families. Some are the “hardworking people seeking a better life,” as they claim; others are gangsters and terrorists, plus lots in between. Rounding them up and arranging transport of a population equal to Michigan will be no small feat. Prepare for nightmarish images of armed agents descending upon “immigrant” motels and shelters; rounding up families and frog-walking them onto buses, trucks, trains, and planes; and shipping them out. We can expect horrific portrayals of “children in cages” revisited, oldsters with ailments, detention centers portrayed as internment camps, all that. Wouldn’t the anti-Trump media have a field day? Families torn apart! Lives disrupted! Local economies hit hard. And what if their nations of origin refused their re-entry? More ugly media attention.
Candidate Trump needs to present a credible plan to repatriate these people in an orderly, efficient, humane, and politically palatable way. This can be done by arranging deportations in cohorts according to immigrants’ harm and costs to our nation.
We start with the criminal elements: murderers, rapists, drunk drivers, drug-dealers, and professional shoplifters. By legal and administrative means, illegals who have been involved in criminal activity will be prioritized in “grab” lists and subject to arrest and detention. Being flight risks, they must be denied bail, then given a simple choice: be prosecuted, or be deported with the understanding that re-entry will be a mandatory five-year felony. The point is to get bad actors out of the country.
*** end quote ***
Well, it seems like a no brainer to start with the high priority criminals.
I’m sure that would make a huge difference in “the problem”.
I like the idea of having a plan for the “sanctuary cities and states”. Cut off the federal funds seem like a way to get “cooperation”.

Engineers 3D print sturdy glass bricks for building structures
Jennifer Chu | MIT News
Publication Date: September 20, 2024
*** begin quote ***
What if construction materials could be put together and taken apart as easily as LEGO bricks? Such reconfigurable masonry would be disassembled at the end of a building’s lifetime and reassembled into a new structure, in a sustainable cycle that could supply generations of buildings using the same physical building blocks.
That’s the idea behind circular construction, which aims to reuse and repurpose a building’s materials whenever possible, to minimize the manufacturing of new materials and reduce the construction industry’s “embodied carbon,” which refers to the greenhouse gas emissions associated with every process throughout a building’s construction, from manufacturing to demolition.
Now MIT engineers, motivated by circular construction’s eco potential, are developing a new kind of reconfigurable masonry made from 3D-printed, recycled glass. Using a custom 3D glass printing technology provided by MIT spinoff Evenline, the team has made strong, multilayered glass bricks, each in the shape of a figure eight, that are designed to interlock, much like LEGO bricks.

What’s So Goofy About Eliminating Taxes? – LewRockwell
By Laurence M. Vance
*** begin quote ***
As usual, Ron Paul gets it right:
It is common to describe tax cuts as “costing” the government. Saying tax cuts cost the government assumes that the government has a moral claim over an individual’s earnings, so anytime those running the government allow individuals to keep more of their money the rulers are being generous. The truth is that income belongs to the people who earn it and that saying tax cuts cost the government is like saying burglar alarms cost thieves. Therefore, any legislation that cuts taxes is a victory for liberty.
*** end quote ***
If the politicians and bureaucrats merely cut taxes, but don’t address Gooferment spending, then it just means bigger deficits, means more borrowing, means more money printing by the FED, means more currency debasement, means more inflation.
It’s just fraud being perpetrated on “We, The Sheeple”.
I’d prefer that the amount cut from taxes is immediately cut from the spending. Accross the board on a percentage basis.
I would further favor, any deficit means that the incumbents in Congress are ineligible for reelection. Bet that would fix the problem.
Also, taxpayers get a veto on all spending bills!
We need a third “house” elected by taxpayers, who get one vote for every dollar they pay in taxes.

Fentanyl – Which Candidate Can End the Scourge?
Trump and Harris place the blame and solution in different places.
John Klar — Sep 18, 2024
*** begin quote ***
Among the odd exchanges between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris at their first and perhaps only debate before Election Day was a dispute over who would better protect Americans from the growing scourge of illegal substances, especially fentanyl. This issue is of top concern to millions of Americans who have suffered the loss of a loved one to this deadly drug, largely imported from Mexico. How will these candidates measure up for this demographic in November?
As Americans weigh the respective offerings of the 2024 party platforms, differing prescriptions for abortion, economic growth, foreign policy, and border security vie for favoritism among voters. The irreversible, life-changing trauma of losing a child, parent, or sibling to pernicious fentanyl or other opioids is, for many, an issue of the highest priority – cutting across party loyalties and hardly confined to undecided independents.
*** end quote ***
As a little L libertarian, and having lost a family member to drugs and raising a child injured by per-natal drug use, I think and believe that the the Gooferment must admit it is powerless to “solve” the problem. “They” can’t keep drugs out of prison so how do they expect to do it in a free society? My “solution” is to let the free market operate. Walmart, Walgreens, and Amazon will make the “illegal drugs” clean, safe, and cheap. Then, we can focus all the wealth wasted of “prohibition” on making resources available to those who want to get “clean”. Will people still die from “drugs”? Absolutely! But they won’t be “accidental” from fentanyl in their heroin. Sorry to be the bearer of “bad news”, but it’s completely out of our control what free people can put in their own bodies. Let’s make addiction as “safe” as possible.

Can Data From Federally-Funded Study Be Kept Hidden?
In response to my request to see study supporting materials, data, and communications, which the public owns since it was a taxpayer-funded study (and the tenets of solid science require transparency so that any findings can be replicated), West Virginia University stalled and then eventually provided only heavily-redacted materials that revealed very little except that several other observers had also questioned the study.
According to Springer Nature, “Journal of Religion and Health has a research data policy which encourages authors to publish data in a public repository where possible, but does not require that they do so.”
The National Science Foundation, which used US taxpayer money to fund the questioned study, provided no meaningful information when asked.

And, most important of all, why were the most significant takeaways of international interest seemingly ignored including that the researchers found no evidence that the Amish suffered more harm for not having shut down schools, businesses and church; for not isolating, masking or social distancing; for not Covid testing and vaccinating; and for not having spent a great deal of public funds on various measures.

Harry Studley was just 18-months-old when a 24-year-old neighbor was cleaning his air rifle in 2016 and aimed it at the crying toddler, saying he thought it was unloaded. The pellet lodged in Harry’s brain causing a displaced skull fracture, as well as swelling and bleeding on the brain.
Harry was given a one percent chance of survival, but pulled through. He was left with serious conditions, though, and still suffers epilepsy, partial blindness, weakness, and some cognitive issues.

The fact that this occurred in the “gun control” UK is astonishing.
First rule of gun safety is that they are ALWAYS to be pointed in a safe direction. Second, they are always treated as if they are loaded and ready to fire.
Growing up, (mostly) boys brought guns to school as part of a shooting team. Guess in the name of “gun control”, now children don’t learn about these tools and the safety rules.
