Six Facts the Left Doesn’t Want You To Know About Global Warming
By David Simon — July 12, 2021

*** begin quote ***

  1. Obama Administration Department of Energy chief scientist Steven Koonin shows that the models relied upon by the Left to predict future global warming are so poor that they cannot even reproduce the temperature changes in the 20th century.
  2. Koonin’s book also documents that the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change’s own analysis indicates that any negative economic impact that global warming eventually may have will be so modest that it warrants no action.
  3. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the UN IPPC do not claim that a link has been established between global warming and natural disasters.
  4. as the earth’s temperature has risen, natural disasters have become far less deadly.
  5. some of the world’s best scientists believe that global warming will be beneficial rather than harmful.
  6. global warming saves lives. A study published in 2015 by the British medical journal The Lancet found that cold kills over 17 times more people than heat.

“Hystericized/grossly exaggerated “climate change” scenarios are being used to get the general public to accept what has to date not sold well: Global control by a global elite, who will control almost every aspect of everyone’s life . . . in the name of the “environment” rather than the proletariat. Of course, the global controllers will not be subject to energy austerity and collectivized “solutions.” Those are reserved for us!” — Eric Peter EP Autos blog

Psaki says WH ‘flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation’

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Thursday the Biden administration is identifying “problematic” posts for Facebook to censor because they contain “misinformation” about COVID-19.

Psaki disclosed the government’s role in policing social media during her daily press briefing after Surgeon General Vivek Murthy called on companies to purge more pandemic posts.

The demand for censorship — and Psaki’s admission of government involvement — follows a series of flip-flops from health officials who contradicted themselves throughout the pandemic on issues such as mask efficacy, as well as censorship of claims that later gained credibility, such as the theory that COVID-19 leaked from a Chinese lab.

“We are in regular touch with the social media platforms and those engagements typically happen through members of our senior staff and also members of our COVID-19 team — given as Dr. Murthy conveyed, this is a big issue, of misinformation, specifically on the pandemic,” Psaki said.

So FACEBOOK is the Biden’s Goebbels?

Where does the Gooferment get off deciding to censor anyone’s free speech?

Not even a fig leaf for this action.

APPLE: Got back an empty repaired MACBOOKAIR (#3)

Monday, July 19, 2021

And, it was back to a factory reset.

No problem!  Initialized it like a good little User.

“Wanna use a time machine to get your image back?”

Yeah, sure, that’s was my plan.

PROBLEM

It’ll take an estimated ~6 hours to restore.

Argh!

We’ll see what that translated IRL time.

Sigh!

RANT: “Drug Stores”

Sunday, July 18, 2021

How did the Gooferment get involved in our getting “drug” from the “drug store”?

My fiancé, who’s an amputee and has constant phantom pain, was having trouble getting approval to try Lyrica.  She happened to take a trip to Egypt and, while in town, she stopped into the local “drug store”.  She asked the pharmacist about Lyrica and it turns out it, like most non-abused drugs, is available over the counter without a prescription.

Why can’t we have that service here in the USA?

“We’re flagging problematic posts for Facebook that spread disinformation,” the White House press secretary said.

Time to view these large corporations as “just another branch” of the Gooferment.

And home them accountable in the same way.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: “secrecy is transparency” strategy?

Hunter Biden’s Art Sales: Ethical Mess Made Worse by White House
Tim Murtaugh / @TimMurtaugh / July 13, 2021

*** begin quote ***

Allow me to join the chorus of voices congratulating Hunter Biden for waking up one day recently as an accomplished and commercially successful artist, a sudden event that curiously corresponded with his father’s becoming president of the United States.

This is surely a coincidence, and certainly only represents the latest shift in Hunter’s colorful career path.

In his latest endeavor, he has moved from trading on his father’s name to siphon a fortune from shady foreign businessmen to trading on his father’s name to siphon a fortune from shady “art collectors” from places unknown.

In case you missed the news, President Joe Biden’s son is now a hot commodity in the art world. Though Hunter Biden hasn’t publicly presented his work for sale before, New York City art dealer Georges Berges will conduct two exhibitions this fall—in Los Angeles and New York. Berges projects the pieces will sell at prices ranging from $75,000 for drawings on paper to $500,000 for large paintings.

But if you’re concerned that this represents an opportunity for nefarious characters to covertly line Hunter’s pockets in efforts to influence his father, never fear, the White House has a solution: All details of the transactions will be shrouded completely from public view.

Sorry, “We, The Sheeple”, but you voted for this nonsense.

NYC sheriffs seize 43 vehicles with fake paper license plates

Saturday, July 17, 2021

Illegal or counterfeit license plates allow vehicles to circumvent speed cameras in school zones, red light cameras, bus lane cameras and other public safety programs, according to Fucito. The illicit plates are also used to evade tolls at the city’s bridge and tunnel crossings.

POLITICAL: Voting Rights = Ballot Harvesting?

Fact-Checking 6 Big Claims in Biden’s Partisan-Tinged Speech on Voting
Fred Lucas / @FredLucasWH / July 13, 2021

*** begin quote ***

6. Supreme Court ‘Weakened Voting Rights Act’

Last week, Biden also said, “the Supreme Court once again weakened the Voting Rights Act.”

“The court’s decision—as harmful as it is—does not limit the Congress’ ability to repair the damage done,” he said. “It puts the burden back on Congress to restore the Voting Rights Act to its intended strength.”

The high court ruled 6-3 in the case of Brnovich v. Democratic National Committee to uphold a law preventing ballot harvesting and requiring residents to vote in their home precinct.

The high court did not weaken the Voting Rights Act, as the president said, but determined that two provisions of Arizona state law in question did not violate it.

One requirement specifies that a ballot cast by someone on Election Day will not be counted if cast outside of that person’s assigned precinct. The other stipulates that only an election official, mail carrier, or a voter’s relative, household member, or caregiver may collect and deliver someone else’s mail-in ballot.

Seems that “ballot harvesting” equals fraud; not voting rights?

INTERESTING: Donate Your Body to Science

Everything You’ve Ever Wanted to Know About Donating Your Body to Science
BY EMILY PETSKO — MAY 31, 2019

*** begin quote ***

“I’d much rather be used for medical research than be buried,” Poulakos, 64, tells Mental Floss. “We’re not going to be using our bodies anymore anyway, so they might as well use it for whatever they need.”

*** and ***

These deceased donors help to save lives. Medical students dissect cadavers to learn about anatomy. Researchers use them to study diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Surgeons use corpses to refine new procedures like face transplants. And cadavers have even aided the advancement of surgical robots.

Yet corpses can be hard to come by: An estimated 20,000 Americans donate their bodies to science each year, which equates to less than 1 percent of the 2.7 million Americans who die annually. Put simply, the demand is far greater than the supply.

*** end quote ***

I feel the same way.  I’ve instructed my primary survivor (i.e., POS, HAP, AD) when she pulls the plug to do this but she thinks it “gross”. I hope she will.

It seems such a waste to bury spare parts.  And, if it can’t be used for parts, at least let the med students practice.

If I can’t do anything else right for humanity, I can do this.
