Protect wolves from humans with punishing legislation, prevent them from being shot, trapped, snared, or poisoned, and they lose fear and respect for humans. They are subject to the immutable laws of physics. They have developed a healthy fear of cars, which have become their main “predator.”

There is no way I’d go trapping around the countryside unarmed. Reports are common about bears, coyotes, and other predators in non-urban areas. And even some urban ones.
Of course, “protect nature” has led to complacent humans.
And not only do we have to blame the “protect the bears and wolves” people, but also the politicians, bureaucrats, and judges (but I repeat myself) who protect the urban version of “wolves and bears”.
If you can carry a firearm, you are at risk from all sorts af “animals” as well as tyrants who would disarm and shackle you into slavery. (Figure out your “taxes” and you’ll know how much of a slave you are!)
