Well, I’d need to “vet” that this is bonafide before I’d start jumping up an down.

(It certainly is a telling indictment of the gooferment education system.)

But, if this fellow wasn’t in the military, he certainly captured the ability of most military vets to identify “barbara streisand” when they see it.

And, in ten minutes of broken and bad English, he does make enough points to make it time well spent.

It should be “mandatory listening” before voters vote!

Those with the least amount of talent use vulgarity to shock their way to fame and fortune. Partially nude bodies, undulating in paroxysms of feigned passion was once restricted to X-rated movies on the side streets of the big cities. Now, it’s available with a stroke of the remote or thrust into plain view with a click of the mouse.

When one thinks of the end of the Roman Empire, debauchery, debased currency, the absence of civic virtue, and the mob in the Colosseum come to mind.

But, it always starts much much earlier.

A jump in ATM fraud led Citibank to slash the maximum amount of cash available to customers from their accounts – a security move greeted warily Wednesday by its patrons.

The new cap on cash kicked out by the company’s ATMs began in mid-December after what Citibank called “isolated fraudulent activity” around the city.

Hmm, interesting. With the subprime mortgage mess on everyone’s mind, might an ATM be a new way that there’s a “run on the bank”?

Now we know that the Federal Reserve Bank (which is neither “federal”, a “bank”, or a “reserve” of anything but assurances) can supply all the little green pieces of paper one could ever want. (Remember I think it was Mises who said “only a government can take something valuable like paper and make it worthless by printing on it”.) That guarantee didn’t stop half of NYC’s Chinatown from lining up outside one their banks recently when a bank officer took off with some dough. After all those were just illiterate (in English?) Chinese (illegal?) immigrants who didn’t understand that things are different in the “Pepuls Paradise of the USA”. (Are they really?)

Seriously, while it may be fraud prevention, it certainly doesn’t inspire confidence when this is how you find out about it. What did they lose? How did they lose it? (Personally, some IT guy mailing a file of name, rank, serial number, ssn, card number, mothersmaidenname, and pin to a backup location is not outside the realm of possibility. Like the bloke in England did.)

My first caucus experience was pretty awesome. Although I might be a little biased, since I’m for Obama and he did extremely well in Iowa. But that aside, it was just really cool to see people – especially people my age, who historically have been rather blasé about elections – out there caucusing and making themselves heard. With all due respect, charity, and fellowship, Obama as President! Have you lost your mind?

The only rationale, given his lack of accomplishments, is that you have looked at all the candidates and found them all so lacking that you would prefer a complete novice to lead us.

While politicians are particularly … revolting, I think that there are more qualified people. I too am reviled at the choices other than Ron Paul. But no one, other than him, gets us out of our current messes with a detailed description. Sorry, but I just think that Obama is too light weight to lead.

Personally, I’d rather pick a state guv at random. At least then there’d be some experience to judge by.

Upon reflection, maybe that’s a good idea. Change the Constitution to allow the electorate to chose among the Governors of one of the States. Real easy to implement. Maybe we can have Instant Runoff elections?

POLITICAL: Republicans want to win elections

My advice to Paul is to take direct aim at McCain. Sharpen the differences between the two camps. Show how McCain is a loser against either Clinton or Obama.

Emphasize strongly that the electorate is aiming to pick Clinton or Obama at present (this is very clear!) Then sell yourself as the only Republican who has a chance to beat them by mobilizing both young people and independents and democrats.

Republicans want to win elections, but they have lost their libertarian soul and gained a harmful war-supporting evangelical component. They must be steered away from their instinctive support of people like Huckabee and McCain and toward a more strategic view of who can beat Clinton and Obama. In a sense, go above the heads of the Republican primary voter to the general electorate.

What positions should be emphasized that will resonate with the public? Make every effort to find out, and then focus on no more than three of these issues, such as (1) ending the Iraq War and avoiding other such debacles, (2) putting the economy in order and taking down the horrendous government debt, (3) avoiding the coming crash of Medicare and bringing great medical advancements by freeing up the health care system. I do not know what these issues are, I am guessing, but any successful politician has to find and stress them.

I agree. Hit the point that only Ron Paul offers the American electorate a clear choice on these issues. And, since in Regan’s sage advice that a President can only have three objective and does well to accomplish two, focus is essential.

First principle is that government has only one mission: to protect rights. Among these are the right to life. So clearly, gooferment has some role in protecting people’s lives. We as a people have to determine what that means. But that is a completely different discussion than the one we have been having. Groups warring over who’s going to to tell who what to do.

We need a lot less “telling” and a lot more “listening”.

That phrase about the consent of the governed is very important.

What if someone doesn’t consent?

I bet some entrepreneurial ethnic group (i.e., Hutus; the Montenyards; the Kurds, the Irish; the Chinese), who are persecuted in their home land, could shoot thru the Golden Door and turn these places into “gold mines”. Liberty does wonders.

But, we’ll never know because we are busy building fences to keep “outsiders” out. (And, “insiders” in?)
