Some times the essence of good leadership is to be a good follower. There was an old slogan that went “Lead, Follow, or Get Out Of The Way”. As a “leader” of me, myself, and I, I don’t have to have every great idea personally. Good leaders are good followers. Distilling “leadership”, it’s really about blocking and tackling for the folks who do the work.
In this particular case, KentB has declared a good strategy that we should all get behind.
I’ll go a step further. I’ll denounce it here on my blog for what it is “the aggressive initiation of force on another person”. As a Libertarian, that goes against my basic beliefs. I’ll rally to defend my “neighbor” regardless if they are living next to me, driving next to me, or blogging “next” to me.
Kudos to KentB for hitting the nail on the head. I’m pleased to help hammer it home.
Certain conduct is unacceptable. It won’t be tolerates. And, I’ll ostracize anyone who tries it on any neighbor of mine.

How about those Rutgers dames! You gotta believe they can take it all, youngsters or not.
Carolina-Barrelina, Tennessee-Wannasee…who cares about them, they got nothing but a name. Bring ’em on. It’s the Scarlett Knights of Rutgers that they should fear. GO RUTGERS!
P.S. I am out in LV on business, watched them play from the Hard Rock Hotel bar….but I should have put my money where my mouth is! I was telling everyone around me that I knew two avid fans and season ticket holders! :-)

>How about those Rutgers dames!
The game was ugly. They’ll have to do better to get by LSU.
>Carolina-Barrelina, Tennessee-Wannasee…who cares about them, they got nothing but a name.
LSU’s Fowles (a true 5), Carolina’s Latta (a true 2), and Tennesee’s Redding (a true 4) are the imho the keys to the game. RU matches up pretty well.
Luckily, RU only has to face two of the three.
LSU Fowles beat UCONN single-handedly. But UConn doesn’t have 5. Gino goes small and fast. RU can’t afford to double her and Kia Vaughn will have her hands full. She has to stay out of foul trouble and contain Fowles.
It’s possible. That’s why they play the games. But, it’s no lock.
>P.S. I am out in
BTW did you see Corzine with his RU shirt as the #1 fan. Arghhh. Trust a politician to find a parade to get in front of!
>I was telling everyone around me that I knew two avid fans and season ticket holders! :-)
Nahh, it’s only one rabid fan. I just go to be social able. It’s Frau who is living her fantasy of what could have been. Damn she was good in her prime. I only got to see her play once before the quad separation and she was a deadly shooter. Her brother told me she was “better” in high school. Hard to believe. Forty years before her time. It’s sad. She might have been Nancy Lieberman. Like Rocky, “I coulda been a contender”. At least, she has a fantasy. All I have is my blog. ;-) (Although I am getting 200 readers per day.)

I just thought this was funny. Obviously, this was the work of “leadership”. The McJob types don’t get to play with laser printers. But the creator didn’t think much about “doing it write”. ;-) No wonder that 50% of my Sunday morning orders have a defect.

Hi
I read your comment on the Linkedin power forum on ostracism which gave me a chuckle. I thought you might have been an Aussie ;-)
Your profile is entertaining. Are you finding that LinkedIn and Ryze are worthwhile?

G’day Mate, No, not an awesie, but I watched Crock-a-dile dundee a few times. Does that count? Glad you were amused. I think that inet’s “hidden nature” allows people to be butt heads and think there are no consequences. Putting bozos on the virtual iceberg and giving them a healthy shove out to the proverbial sea will send a quick chilling message. Glad to be entertaining. I had an injineering prof say “if you can’t get the answer right, at least be entertaining”.
OK, seriously now, I think the jury is still out on the whole social networking genre. I really don’t have time to master multiple sites in the niche. I chose LinkedIn over Ryze for my efforts because Ryze was overrun with MLMers and “kiddies”. I have yet to say “wow, that was because of LinkedIn that I made that $5”. OTOH I have connected with lots of people, earned a little following on my blog, and did publish a “vanity” of my blog in 2006. I’d say that was all driven from LinkedIn. I’m not sure that I say it was “worthwhile” yet. But, I haven’t written it off yet. It’s still a “work in progress”. The genre is still “silo-ed” imho. That is that tools don’t interoperate yet. If ever. I still have a lot of “hand operated” stuff. If I could logically add Act – Outlook – Plaxo – LinkedIn – Skype – Corex Cardscan – AOLIM – MySql – Gmail – Greader – Gpage all into one black box that synced flawlessly, then I’d say “worthwhile”.
Thanks for a great question that allowed me to summarize my thoughts. I’ll blog it when I get time.
So what do you think? Are they “worthwhile”?

You’ll be happy to know that I have taken my own advice. All passwords, that were previously saved in ROBOFORM on my platform, have been moved off to a fob.
I recommend this as one of the things you should spend money on. (Hey forty bucks ain’t gonna break you.) And, should the notebook get stolen, the thieves can’t steal your identity.
Should they get loveable LUGGABLE, it’s not like I’m not going to notice. While it will take some time to change over a thousand passwords, it’s just a pia.
Should they get the fob, it’s the same problem. BUT, they first have to crack ROBOFORM’s encryption, before I change all the passwords.

Death Squad in Delaware: The Case of the Murdered Marine
by William Norman Grigg

According to the lawsuit, Lt. Brown, Derek’s murderer, “has violated the constitutional rights of others in the past through the improper use of deadly force and has coached other WPD officers on how to lie about and/or justify the improper use of deadly force.” Rather than being cashiered, Brown was promoted – just as one would expect of any other dishonest, cowardly thug in the service of any other Third World death squad. Derek J. Hale survived two tours of duty in Iraq, a country teeming with Pentagon-trained death squads, only to be murdered by their home-grown equivalent.

Step 3: Change all passwords that you use online as you walk through the next 21 steps.
While you search for business contacts and download forms to fill out in this recovery process, begin to change all your online passwords (this is assuming your computer wasn’t stolen!). Thieves may have acquired your information through an online password-protected account. Use new and different passwords for each account, and stop saving your passwords online or on your computer.

Every password should be unique!
Keeping the passwords stored separately from the computer is a lesson that I could learn.
I’m gradually bringing LUGGABLE back from “hunka junk” to “functioning”. My plan to reformat was significantly delayed by DELL. In the interim, I’ve been trying to solve the problems. WORD2003 was locking up on startup. I repaired twice. Did everything else I could think of. Sacrificed a chicken. And, finally hit on the idea of nuking all the printers defined to XP. When PUBLISHER2003 locked up in the same way, that’s what clued me in. Nuking all the printers brought it back to life.

I wanted to reformat LUGGABLE’s drive to reinstall and get rid of the winrot that’s been plaguing me. Argh! So I ordered a DELL XPS drive and the external enclosure. (DELL didn’t meet my dates, expectations, or such but that’s another story.) So, last night, I got around to trying it.
Guess what?
The drive is too big for the enclosure.
Argh!
I pinged for an “return”. How much fun is that going to be.
I may never buy anything online again! Certainly not from DELL.
Freeloader Reinke reporting in with a new thought. (It’s so rare I have them I just had to share it. Besides I couldn’t sleep tonight so if I’m up everyone should be up.) (I tried to put this in last time I thought of it but you closed the feedback door, I forgot about it, and the delay is all your fault.)
Long urls.
Don’t get me wrong, I love WordPress. But the urls that you produce are too long imho. I use tinyurl a lot when I blog, email, or comment. Only because the likelihood of getting one right is lowered by length. If transcription is involved, forget about it.
Here’s an illustration.
https://reinkefj.wordpress.com/2007/03/27/
technology-an-impressive-mindmap-of-blogging-platforms/
has a length of 96 characters and resulted in the following TinyURL which has a length of 25 characters:
Now, I bet that WordPress has an underlying database there somewhere. And further I bet it has an index in there somewhere. And I’ll be that ReinkeFacesLife maps to USER#123456 and “3dscft” maps to post #1492.
Finally I’d guess that it might be possible to expose a url like http://www.wordpress.com/123456/1492 if you really wanted to.
Tell me that this is already available and I’ll be really embarrassed. I thought I read ALL the doc.
Any way, here’s my insomnia fueled idea fwiw.

Hi,
It’s not already there.
The permalink is created using the most friendly option.
It tells a real person the date / title at a glance and it also is good for search engines.
You can shorten yours though – http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/10/23/post-options-post-slug/
