A US high school girls basketball team is said to have proved “there are still good people in this world” after taking the unprecedented step of returning a championship it had won after realizing they had actually lost the title-clinching game.

The story stems from the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association, where a crucial scoreboard error early in the game gave the girls basketball team at Academy of Classical Christian Studies the edge over its Apache high school counterpart, as CBS News recently reported.

“Let us remember we are in the Holy Presence of God. For more days than I’d care to count, those words were said in my presence. Not until now do I think I begin to understand them.” — character “John” in CHURCH 10●19●62 Volume 2 Page 371

Here’s a classic case of “doing what’s right” when it would be easier to do nothing.  But forever, that coach and team would know that they did NOT win.  In essence, they would be cheating themselves out of an opportunity to grow up.

“Your habits will determine your future.” — Jack Canfield in The Power of Focus

I hope that everyone make a big fuss and an exemplar of what “good American character” looks like.  The most comperable example is when those Japanese sports fans at the Olympics cleaned up after themselves.

We can all learn some lessons here.

RANT: Tell John Oliver that Illegals do comit crimes

Illegal Migrants Less Likely to Commit Crime? Guess Again.

In June, Victor Martinez-Hernandez was charged with the murder of Rachel Morin, a mother of five in Maryland. Police in Oklahoma tracked the accused repeat offender down with a sample of his DNA recovered from a Los Angeles home invasion in which a nine-year-old girl and her mother were assaulted. Police say he came to the U.S. illegally to escape prosecution for at least one other murder in his native El Salvador in December 2022.

“That should never have been allowed to happen,” said Sheriff Jeffrey Gahler, referring to the numerous missed red flags the case presented. His office apprehended Hernandez in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

John Oliver discusses the wave of people claiming there’s a wave of “migrant crime,” where the term came from, and what we can do next.

When I listened to John Oliver’s show, I was admonished that there was no such thing as “migrant crime” and the term came from the evil Republicans.

Well here is one specific example that counters that argument.

Any even the liberal media has reported a lot of “migrant crime”!

Surly, this deserves an “update” when he comes back from his end-of-season break?

I hope that all the bad guys can be deported and we can get back to some peace in our country,

GOVERNACIDE: The Gooferment has no right to kill anyone … almost never.

Will the Supreme Court Save Richard Glossip?

  • The fate of the death row inmate—who almost everyone believes is innocent—is finally being decided by the highest court in the land.

By Rupa Subramanya

“No matter which side of the Glossip case the Supreme Court ultimately agrees with, state leaders will be forced to answer why Oklahoma has insisted on executing a man without considering new and potentially exculpatory evidence,” Brett Farley, the executive director of Catholic Conference of Oklahoma, which opposes the death penalty, told The Free Press. “It’s simply indefensible.”

*** end quote ***

Sorry but until we can undo a “death sentence” “We, The Sheeple” should NEVER permit the Gooferment to kill.  Humans make mistakes; it’s inevitable.  Thus, “innocence” should always be grounds for an appeal.  I don’t care about the “rules of procedure”.  If one can advance evidence of innocence, then that should always DEMAND a judicial review.

As I have blogged before, the only reason for the Gooferment to be permitted to kill a human is if that human is too dangerous to exist (i.e., a convicted murdered kills a guard).  I like the French’s Devil’s Island.  Surely we have some vacant land out in the wilderness for a version of this?

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: “Pass the trash” right into a jail cell

The Sad Lesson of School Sex Abuse: It’s Pass the Trash, Not Catch the Trash (Part 3 of a Series)
By James Varney, RealClearInvestigations

Ashley quickly told her mother and school officials, including a school security officer she confused with a police officer. They assured her the matter would be handled. But Allen was never arrested or charged with any crime. He resigned quietly from Little Axe in 2002. In the years since, he has coached or taught at seven other Oklahoma high schools, according to state records, a development Ashley found appalling.

“I watched them pass the trash right in front of me,” said the woman, now Ashley Rolen, 39, an Oklahoma City entrepreneur married to a pastor. She is working to publicize the problem of sexual misconduct, particularly among K-12 school employees. “My story is significant but not unique,” she notes ruefully.

*** end quote ***

Sorry, but this should NOT happen. All resignations, “quiet” or otherwise, should be reported to the press and investigated by the police.  Bring the bureaucrats (i.e., principal; the vice; and anyone else in the chain of command) down to the police station, put them in an interrogation room, and ask “routine questions”.  Anyone that doesn’t cooperate is immediately suspended pending an appearance at a Grand Jury.  If crossing state lines is involved the FBI should be conducting the investigation.  I’d insist on an audio and video record be kept.

This <synonym for excrement> would quickly stop.  No “education” bureaucrat would risk their job, pension, and possible jail time to cover for a criminal.  I suspect that there would enthusiastic cooperation.

And, anyone convicted or loses misconduct suit in court is FOREVER banned from school or Gooferment employment at any level.

Argh!

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Why does PBS get Taxpayer money?

Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt defends decision to close state’s PBS station OETA over ‘indoctrination and over-sexualization of children’ including reading of kids’ book about drag queen’s hips

  •     Shows on the network include ‘Sesame Street,’ ‘Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood,’ and ‘Clifford The Big Red Dog’
  •     Gov. Stitt’s veto means that the network will cease operations this year unless legislature overrides it
  •     He also criticized a Newshour feature that included parents’ support for gender-affirming treatments – including puberty blockers

Of course, both the article and the Governor miss the point.  Why is the Gooferment subsidizing a TV network?  Does anyone think that Sesame Street can’t get on a network without the Gooferment money?

If the Taxpayers of Oklahoma want to subsidize PBS, then let them VOLUNTARILY contribute to the PBS negations that run regularly.

Argh!

POLITICAL: I thought “all powers not enumerated were reserved to the States or the People”?

Despite Secession Talk, Breaking Up Is Hard To Do
May 04, 2017 By Mindy Fetterman

*** begin quote ***

Recently, these efforts have ranged from fairly large, ongoing campaigns in Texas and California to smaller pushes in Oklahoma, Maine, Utah, West Virginia and New York’s Long Island, among others.

Just last month, a longshot effort to allow Californians to vote on seceding fell apart after one of the founders dropped out amid criticism of his ties to Russia. But a new group pushing secession has vowed to collect the nearly 600,000 signatures required by July to put the measure on the November 2018 ballot.

Last May, the Texas Nationalist Movement came within two votes of adding Texas independence language to the state’s Republican platform. And in Oklahoma, Republican state Sen. Joseph Silk in January introduced a bill to remove the word “inseparable” from the sentence in the state constitution describing Oklahoma as “an inseparable part of the Federal Union.”

The move for independence, whether it’s from the right of the political spectrum as in Texas, or the left as in California, reflects the political division felt across the country, said Edward Meisse, a supporter of the Yes California secession group that just disbanded. “We have two diametrically opposed philosophies in our country, and we’re just not getting anywhere,” he said. “I think we should allow states to secede so California can be California and Texas can be Texas.”

*** end quote ***

Yeah, right! Unfortunately, once the Gooferment gets power, it will never relinquish it voluntarily. People can NOT be held against their will. If an individual did it, then it’d be called “kidnapping”. But when the Gooferment does it, it’s call “jurisdiction”. Of course, once people start to refuse their cooperation to the Gooferment, it’ll collapse. It happened to the old Soviet Union; it’ll happen here too.

With all the out of control spending, unfunded and underfunded pensions, soaring “entitlement” costs, the collapse is inevitable. The only question is “who takes the ‘haircut’?”

Argh!

Secession is the only LOGICAL solution.
