LIBERTY: Glenn Beck began calling himself a “libertarian”
Monday, February 16, 2009BTW, Glenn recently stopped calling himself a “conservative” and began calling himself a “libertarian”. (Change of network. Change of time slot. Change of label?) As a little Llibertarian, I’ll wait to hear more before I agree with the label. Just like Bob Barr (the recent big L libertarian presidential candidate, it takes more than a miracle on the proverbial road to Damascus to make one a real libertarian. Zero Aggression Principle? MYOB? Make peace; not war. (That’s not pacifism; just don’t start trouble.) Ignore people’s private decisions. Yes, it’s a LONG way from so called “conservatism” to “libertarianism”. Well, we’ll see about Glenn’s relabeling.

While we stumble along economically with bailouts, buyouts, and poor sales in almost all sectors, two products in America are seeing dramatic increases in sales: guns and ammo. People who never owned a gun before are buying; people are buying multiples of military style weapons and ammo is being bought by the case instead of by the box.

Forewarned is forearmed. The encrouchments continue. Watched Mel Gibson’s “the patriot” again last night. Seems so obvious. Why can we only learn the lessons of history after something bad happens to us. Look at the TSA and ask “how the hell did this happen?”. I’d suggest it was when the FAA disarmed the pilots. But you might have other opinions.
The RIGHT to Keep and Bear Arms — RKBA — should have been the First Amendment! Ask any tyrant or dictator.
It’s really the litmus test for a politician. Ask that one question and you can tell if they are a socialist or not.

AND, the Democrats and Republicans are two sides of the same coin — power to the government.

When will folks recognize that GOVERNEMENT IS THE PROBLEM.
It starts from a flawed set of paradigms (i.e., perceptions) and memes (i.e., ideas).
One flawed paradigm / perception is that the “benefits bestowed” come like magic rainfall from the heavens. It’s a miracle. What we don’t see, or chose not to see, is the sausage being made. Money extracted by force (Who voluntarily pays the mob in gooferment?) to fund the “benefits”. Minus of course the huge “handling fee” to do the “extracting” and “bestowing”!
One flawed meme is that there is such a thing as “government”. In our minds, we create the Wizard of Oz illusion that there something, (or even more laughable, that we are part of something), bigger than ourselves. No, what I see are craven immoral human beings dress up in fancy clothes pretending to have power over us. To “govern” us.
In the beginnings of human civilization, there were Tyrants. Then, came Kings. Now, we have Politicians.
There are all just people. Give them no more defference than you would a street thug. Be careful they can hurt you. But, don’t kid yourself that the Politician is any different than the Mafia Don.
Keep your pitchfork and torch at hand. Their time is coming.

I blogged about this when I first heard it.
It’s not “gun control”; it’s “victim disarmament”!
Interesting how Colonial Laws from one set of politicians are quickly “updated” by another set of politicians. They all fear an armed people.
Riots? The Korean grocers showed how to end mob rule very quickly.
Gun rights, aka the right to defend yourself, is actually also a “women’s rights” issue.
The Holocaust demonstrated what happens when scapegoats are unarmed.
British home invasions, when the homes are occupied, skyrocket with “victim disarmament”!
Apparently the Indian slaughter in Mumbai was pulled off by 10 criminals. Reports have armed police refusing to fire on them. And, the “crack commandos” were like the Keystone Kops. (Remember Columbine, where the “heroic” police encircled the school, until the criminals finished killing everyone and themselves?)
Remember how Israeli schools and daycare centers were targeted until armed grandparents started providing security. And, the last massacre was on a school trip where guns were not permitted.
Wake up folks! Criminals don’t obey laws. Kops are just gooferment bureaucrats who are there to clean up the bodies and fill out paperwork. Dial 911 and die.
Of interest was in the 2006 article, the Indian writer cited Gandhi, the Dali Lama, Lenin, and a slew of the DOWGs! Fascinating.

Mumbai’s Harsh Lesson on Gun Control

At the Jewish outreach centre, bystanders pelted the terrorists with stones in a vain attempt to ward off the attack, but had to retreat when the terrorists opened fire with automatic rifles. Our citizens were trying to ward off the terrorists with stones! I cannot think of a more extreme example of how helpless the government has rendered it’s own citizens. In the absence of guns, and thus incapable of offering any resistance, they were simply like lambs to the slaughter. On that fateful day, this was a story repeated again and again all over Mumbai: unarmed civilians, slow & inept emergency services, and mindless slaughter of innocents.
But we live in a democracy; hence at the end of the day it is each one of us who is to blame. It is we the people who must ask our representatives hard questions; it is we who must bring the right to bear arms to the forefront of the political agenda. We have the power to effect change through our votes and with elections just a few months away, let us not forget the lessons of Mumbai, let us not forget those that lost their lives there, many of who could have been saved if just a few of us were armed.
