NJ election fraud: New charges brought against two Democrats over mail-in ballots, registrations

“Mendez’s campaign allegedly collected ballots that were not sealed by voters and examined them at the campaign headquarters to see if they were cast for Mendez. Ballots that were not cast for Mendez were allegedly destroyed and replaced with a ballot for him. The replacement ballots were allegedly stolen from voters’ mailboxes.”

LIBERTY: Would-be law student fights an uphill battle without significant legal help

Appeals court reinstates wrongly imprisoned student’s lawsuit against college for hiding evidence

  • Would-be law student, acquitted by second jury in 29 minutes, represents himself in civil case. Trial judge repeatedly botched statute of limitations, 3rd Circuit finds.

A student who spent 16 months in prison before a second jury exonerated him of sexual assault will get another chance to hold his public university accountable for withholding evidence during his first criminal trial, then refusing to give him a conduct hearing to clear his educational record.

The 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals vacated most of a trial judge’s ruling that dismissed Darold Palmore’s lawsuit against Clarion University – since renamed Pennsylvania Western University, or PennWest Clarion, after a merger – and officials including the campus police officer who withheld security footage.

The three-judge panel unanimously remanded Palmore’s malicious prosecution, Brady due process, 14th Amendment due process, Title IX, negligence, and breach of contract claims for further proceedings.

The ruling is all the more remarkable because Palmore, a D.C. native who had planned to go to law school after his expected graduation four years ago, has represented himself throughout the two-year civil case against Clarion, albeit with guidance from sympathetic lawyers.

How is this “fair”?

Where is the pro-bono legal help?  Isn’t that one reason that lawyers have a “bar association”?

Argh!

NEWJERSEY: Time to end public employee pensions; private industry has moved to 401Ks — so should the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerzee

New Jersey debt soars from public employee pensions, benefits

  • Most of the increase in nonbonded debt came from a $36.1 billion hike in state retirement benefits liabilities.

New Jersey’s debt obligation grew to more than $200 billion in part because the state Legislature passed a budget reflecting only the current year’s policy priorities, pension and benefit obligations before moving on to the next crisis, the director of a public policy center said.

In the state Treasury Department Fiscal Year 2021 Debt Report released July 1, state debt obligations grew from $204 million to $248 million from June 30 of 2020 to a year later.

“The overwhelming share of this debt is tied to public employee pensions and benefits. Most of it isn’t even bonded debt – it’s long-term obligations due to retirees and employees,” Micah Rasmussen told The Center Square. He’s director of the Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics. “So, it’s not directly tied into the state budget, except of course the state revenue we’re spending every year on servicing the debt.”

Old Wall Street axiom: “when you are in a hole, stop digging”.

Time for pensions has long past.

Unfortunately, the unions have the politicians and bureaucrats by the throats.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: What will it take to have the Biden Administration to follow the law on criminal aliens?

Federal court again rules against Biden on immigration, says can’t release illegals into U.S.

  • Court rules decision by Majorkas to release migrants who are supposed to be deported is “arbitrary and capricious, contrary to law.”

“The Biden Administration is refusing to take custody of criminal aliens despite federal statutes requiring it to do so. Instead, Defendants have issued and implemented unlawful agency memoranda that allow criminal aliens already convicted of felony offenses to roam free in the United States. Such aliens belong in federal custody, as Congress required,” they maintain.
