SURVIVAL: But we’re not a “serious species”

‘Sleeping giant’ off coast of California is due to wake any moment and could sink parts of US in just MINUTES | Daily Mail Online

While “global warming” is the latest version of the “plandemic”, it is not hard to imagine the West Coast having another earthquake.  If humans were a serious people, then there would be some “incentives” to move away from the danger zone (i.e., not permitting new development or expansion in that area; tax and insurance rates to encourage movement; “buy” endangered property owners out to make parks).  But we’re not a “serious species” probably doing nothing, and then be “shocked” when a predicted disaster happens.  Argh!

RANT: Where was the predicted “heavy fog” this morning?

Friday, September 13, 2024

Where was the predicted “heavy fog” this morning? I am always amazed that “they” can’t predict weather 12 hours ahead, but “climate change, global warming, global cooling” will wipe humanity out in five, ten, twenty, fifty years! Argh!

INSPIRATIONAL: Amazing how the ecology adapts to change; it’s not all doom ‘n’ gloom

Once Devastated Pacific Reefs See Amazing Rebirth, Recovering With ‘Shocking Speed’
By Andy Corbley – Dec 7, 2022

*** begin quote ***

“The corals that were resistant to the phenomenal 2015-16 El Niño provided the reefs’ resilience,” wrote Sala. “The Southern Line Islands lie in one of the hottest hot spots of warming in the Pacific Ocean, so the corals apparently have adapted to heat.”

Remember when “everyone” was in “the sky is falling” mode about the reefs and oceans.

It’s like the Creator put in a a feedback loop called “adaption” into “his/her” “Creation”.

Guess that the Earth will survive for another bullion years regardless of what us puny humans do!

RANT: Al Gore still pitching

The New Global Deal

The farmer began to tell a long, involved story of the events of the car accident, culminating with the other vehicle hitting him and his cow. When the police arrived on the scene, they saw the injured cow and mercifully shot him. “So when the police asked the farmer how he felt, he said, ‘I feel fine.’ Many of us are feeling like that, said Gore.”

*** and ***

Gore cited three major contributors to the climate crisis:
* the global population explosion, which taxes resources
* the dramatic expansion of the power-draining technologies we use
* the way we think about capitalism
*** and ***Gore urged World Business Forum delegates to affect change through political action, and pressure the Senate to release its use of filibusters to place a stranglehold on policies, which, he said, are influenced by special interest groups. “It’s important to change light bulbs, but it’s more important to change the laws.”

Dear Ms Robyn,

May I respectfully suggest that that proverbial cow was lucky. It didn’t have to listen to Al Gore.

You, unfortunately, have parse out fact and fiction. “Global Warming”, “Global Cooling”, and all the fads in between are just attempts to “sell” us on a meme that allows them to control us and enriches them. It’s well documented just how much old Al has made from his “Global Warming” efforts. So how do you know where the conflict of interest ends. “Population Overgrowth” aka Malthusianism, “power draining tech” aka Peak Power, and “capitalism” which is not what we have now are all just justifications for the Mundanes to be led by the Elite. Of course, Gore is just one of the Elites to “lead” any that will follow.

The Elite always want to erode anything that stands in the way of following their agenda. Space doesn’t permit a comment to go into depth. And, I’m not sure I have the credentials to do it. But, I do know, what is being shoveled, that poor proverbial cow could produce as well.

RANT: Gore gets to limit his press coverage?

Gore gets camera-shy for N.C. speech, limits media
Posted: March 30

“A Gore aide said Tuesday that media members will only be allowed to record video and audio of the first five minutes of Gore’s talk at Duke University on April 8. Photography will also be limited. Gore spokeswoman Kalee Kreider said the restrictions are standard for his talks but she wouldn’t say why they are in place.”

*** end quote ***

Guess when he gets really loony about the whole “global warming thing” he doesn’t want any refutation in the blogs.

That’s what passes for journalism these days. The lame street media doesn’t do anything but pass along the “barbara streisand” they get handed. Hard hitting journalism is reserved for when the “wrong team” is in the White House. Or the conservatives rally. Even then it gets made up like the spitting and name calling incidents.

No one claimed the money for video of it; guess it doesn’t exist. If it’s not videoed, it never happened. One of the congresscritters’ staff had a running vido as they took the historic walk. Wonder what that raw footage showed?

RANT: We Can’t Wish Al Gore Away

We Can’t Wish Away Climate Change
By AL GORE

*** begin quote ***

It would be an enormous relief if the recent attacks on the science of global warming actually indicated that we do not face an unimaginable calamity requiring large-scale, preventive measures to protect human civilization as we know it.

*** and ***

It is true that the climate panel published a flawed overestimate of the melting rate of debris-covered glaciers in the Himalayas, and used information about the Netherlands provided to it by the government, which was later found to be partly inaccurate. In addition, e-mail messages stolen from the University of East Anglia in Britain showed that scientists besieged by an onslaught of hostile, make-work demands from climate skeptics may not have adequately followed the requirements of the British freedom of information law.

But the scientific enterprise will never be completely free of mistakes. What is important is that the overwhelming consensus on global warming remains unchanged. It is also worth noting that the panel’s scientists — acting in good faith on the best information then available to them — probably underestimated the range of sea-level rise in this century, the speed with which the Arctic ice cap is disappearing and the speed with which some of the large glacial flows in Antarctica and Greenland are melting and racing to the sea.

*** end quote ***

Unfortunately, Al has made a LOT of money being “Mister Global Warming”. Without any academic credentials in the “global warming” field, he certainly has a lot ot say about it.

I find it interesting that this is a “watermelon” issue. The answer is always more gooferment control, higher taxes for gooferment spending, and a spectacular loss of freedom.

Sorry, but I’m a “climate skeptic”.

And, as Judge Judy says, “I wouldn’t believe you if your tongue came notarized!”

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Government isn’t transparent, but you can see right through them

The EPA Silences a Climate Skeptic
By KIMBERLEY A. STRASSEL
The professional penalty for offering a contrary view to elites like Al Gore is a smear campaign.

*** begin quote ***

Unable to defend the EPA’s actions, the climate-change crew — , led by anonymous EPA officials — is doing what it does best: trashing Mr. Carlin as a “denier.” He is, we are told, “only” an economist (he in fact holds a degree in physics from CalTech). It wasn’t his “job” to look at this issue (he in fact works in an office tasked with “informing important policy decisions with sound economics and other sciences.”) His study was full of sham science. (The majority of it in fact references peer-reviewed studies.) Where’s Mr. Hansen and his defense of scientific freedom when you really need him?

*** end quote ***

Yeah, I remember in the Eighties that “Global Cooling” was the reason that the government had to control whatever. Now it’s “Global Warming”. Although they have been trying to shift message to “Climate Change”. You really have to be stupid to NOT see that it’s all about CONTROL.

Sigh! Sheeple!!

RANT: My comments on “global warming”

Well, we know that the scientists tend to by myopic and not realize how exploit their findings. Or they don’t realize how to turn them into something practical. Or give practical advice. AND, , don’t limit themselves to the fields of expertise. Like Hollywood stars, they tend to dispense ECONOMIC or POLITICAL advice that has nothing to do with their expertise. Like a foot doctor giving advice on eye. He definitely has more data – information – knowledge – wisdom than a non-doctor. BUT, (there is always a big butt), it is not his FIELD of EXPERTISE. My illustration is a doctor tells us about the problems in healthcare and then makes the leap that we should have government healthcare. HE goes from medical expertise to economic prescriptions. A recitation of facts (which may well me indisputable) to urging socialism, which we know doesn’t work. ANd, the urging is done with the same air of authority. See us injineers know about boundry conditions. So to with “global something”, climatologists should halt at the boundry of their DIKW and let others pick up at theirs. A historian might point out that that climatologists had been scaring everyone about “global cooling” two decades ago. Hence their “facts” may need some checking. And, wasn’t there a warming in the Middle Ages where Iceland had farming? Some how that seems to have been omitted from the data. Guess it just was an oversight? Or, perhaps, like a student with a lab report on deadline, it was just “an inconvenient truth”?

But, then I’m just a fowg injineer.
