I think these things are funny,  In this story, the fellow was able to change his life style and purportedly get a lot more time to spend with his family,  (Until he steps off a curb and gets hit by the metaphorical bus.  Let’s see AI predict that!)

So since I’ve already outlasted the prediction, on to 132. (When I can have finally stolen back my social security “contribution” on a dollar for dollar basis.  Ignoring that I “contributed” good strong dollars and received poor weak dollars that are but a shadow of their former purchasing power.)

More than 65 years ago, two Wisconsin parents dumped the dead body of their adopted son Chester Breiney on the side of the road and fled the state out of fear of punishment. 

They evaded prosecution over a technicality – despite a confession, a judge claimed prosecutors lacked evidence – but years after their death, DNA testing finally proved the sinister crime they committed in 1959. 

In 2023, professors at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh studied the skeletal remains believed to have belong to Breiney using advanced genealogy.

It brings to mind rhetorical oft repeated claim that several hundred thousand children have been trafficked in the recent US border chaos.  What about all those children?

This is the moment a boy was found inside a bubble adrift in a Brazilian sea.

Video footage showed a person on a boat strapping a rope around the bubble and dragging it to the shore at Lázaro Beach in Ubatuba, São Paulo, where the child, who is around eight years old, was reunited with his parents.

Rafael do Prado told Metropoles news outlet that the child was in the bubble playing in the beach when its cable snapped and got dragged further out to sea.

The fire department official added that the bubble the boy was found in provides ‘a false sense of security.’

‘For every three deaths at sea, a drowning process begins with floating objects,’ Magalhães said.

‘Whether it’s a surfboard, an inflatable mattress, or these buoys, floating objects at sea are not safe.’

Hopefully this story makes an impression on all the beach authorities around the world.  

While I’m not a big fan of beaches in general, I have seen children of all ages on inflatable toys in the surf by themselves.  (Knowing how quick children can get into trouble, I’m never more than an arm’s length away from any that I’m responsible for.  Hate to lose anyone’s.)

Stephen A. Smith has blasted Pete Rose’s MLB ban following the baseball icon’s death at the age of 83, saying that ‘murderers have been let off quicker’ than he has.

Rose, MLB’s all-time hits leader, was handed a lifetime ban in 1989 after he was found to have bet on the Cincinnati Reds as both a player and manager of the team.

That meant that the baseball icon was never inducted into baseball’s Hall of Fame before his death, and ESPN’s Smith raged against the treatment Rose was shown on Tuesday morning.

I’d have to rate it as a “5. Possible”.   

I have no doubt that she received the questions ahead of time.  Not that it can be proven.  But baring putting the candidates in a soundproof Faraday cage booth and picking questions from a spun barrel, I wouldn’t believe that they weren’t leaked.  Where’s the audit firms’, like Price Waterhouse, opinions on the fairness of the debate.  They do it for the Oscars and some quiz shows; so why not here.
