The Grim Lessons of Charles Whitman
By Steve Campbell

*** begin quote ***

The era of mass public shootings began with Charles Whitman in 1966.  He taught us all we need to know to prevent or minimize such events.  We ignored his lessons.

On August first of that year,Whitman rode the elevator to the top of the Clock Tower at the University of Texas at Austin.  He rolled a hand truck along with him that carried a footlocker full of guns and ammunition.  Soon after ensued the first mass murder in a public place in America.

I. There will be warnings.

II. There are reasons.

III. Help will not be in time to save you.

IV. Do not dwell on the tragedy.

The current state of affairs: Paralysis

There have been more and more arms restrictions and regulation.  The role of defenders has been taken away from the people and deposited with SWAT teams.  Has it improved the situation?  Not at all!

Perpetrators are being spotted in advance, but their actions and words are ignored by the very authorities charged with defending the public.  Schools are institutionally disarmed and advertised as such.  Crimes that would disqualify perpetrators from purchasing weapons under existing laws are not being prosecuted.  And some of these shooters seem to have been taking drugs with dangerous side-effects.

*** end quote ***

I found this very persuasive.

We know that there were so many warning signs that the Gooferment, Gooferment Skrules, and society ignored.

We need to looking into the SSRI drugs as the proximate cause of these shooting rampages.

“We, The Sheeple” can’t allow themselves to be stampeded into disarming themselves. We know for a fact that genocide follows citizen disarmament.

We need to emulate Israel and allow ARMED teachers, school staff, and grandparents to protect Gooferment Skrules. “Gun free zones” are just stupid magical thinking.

And, we need to stop depending upon the police and Gooferment bureaucrats as the “first responders” — the People are the true “first responders”.

WSJ: “Stormy Weather” — should have a blog category “who cares”! HBDC

Tuesday, March 20, 2018

FROM THE WALL STREET JOURNAL “The 10-Point”

*** begin quote ***

Stormy Weather

Confidential documents obtained by the Journal for the first time tie President Trump’s flagship holding company to the continuing effort to silence a former adult-film actress who says she had an affair with Mr. Trump. A Trump Organization lawyer, Jill A. Martin, is listed as counsel in an arbitration demand for Essential Consultants, a Delaware company formed by Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer and used to pay $130,000 to Stephanie Clifford in exchange for her silence, according to Feb. 22 arbitration documents filed in Orange County, Calif. At issue is a high-profile battle between Mr. Trump’s personal lawyer and Ms. Clifford, also known as Stormy Daniels. Michael Cohen, Mr. Trump’s lawyer, has obtained a temporary restraining order against Ms. Clifford in the arbitration to stop her from talking about an alleged 2006 sexual encounter with Mr. Trump. Ms. Clifford has asked a judge to declare the nondisclosure agreement invalid. The White House and Mr. Cohen have sought to distance the president from the porn-star pact and payment. Mr. Cohen has maintained he was acting on his own and has called it a “private transaction.” Mr. Cohen and White House representatives have denied any sexual encounter took place between Mr. Trump and Ms. Clifford.

Who CARES!

Between the sexual revelations of Ike, JFK, and Clinton, the national naiveté about the alley cat morals of “presidents” is assuredly “buffed out”.

The national left-wing media is so obsessed with bring DJT45 down a few notches that the see nothing else.

And, how come we NEVER hear about BHO44 dating life? Or even his college records?

No, their selective myopia makes them almost completely unreliable.

About the only President who was honest about sex was Jimmy Carter.

PEACE: How do “we” get out of the Afghanistan quagmire

WORLD
A War without an Objective, 6,000 Days In
By GEORGE WILL
March 11, 2018 6:30 AM

*** begin quote ***

It would be helpful to know just what is America’s interest in Afghanistan.‘The war is over.”
— Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld in Afghanistan (April 2002)

“I believe victory is closer than ever before.”
— Vice President Mike Pence in Afghanistan (December 2017)

With metronomic regularity, every thousand days or so, Americans should give some thought to the longest war in their nation’s history. The war in Afghanistan, which is becoming one of the longest in world history, reaches its 6,000th day on Monday, when it will have ground on for substantially more than four times longer than U.S. involvement in World War II from Pearl Harbor to V-J Day (1,346 days).

America went to war in Afghanistan because that not-really-governed nation was the safe haven from which al-Qaeda planned the 9/11 attacks. It was not mission creep but mission gallop that turned the intervention into a war against the Taliban who had provided, or at least not prevented, the safe haven. So, the United States was on a mission opposed by a supposed ally next door — Pakistan, which through Directorate S of its intelligence service has supported the Taliban.

*** end quote ***

Whatever the tactical or strategic objectives in Afghanistan is, I don’t know what it is.

I blame Congress for its continued abdication of its “war making” power. I blame the various Presidents for not just declaring “victory” and marching out.

“Yes. In the end, you will walk out. Because 100,000 Englishmen simply cannot control 350 million Indians, if those Indians refuse to cooperate.” — movie Gandhi (1983)

So to, if “We, The Sheeple” refuse to support it, what will the warfare state do?

TINFOILHAT: Playing 20 questions with the Las Vegas mass shooting

Sunday, March 18, 2018

Exposé: What Really Happened?
March 13, 2018 by Assistant Editor
What Really Happened in Vegas on October 1st? Was ISIS involved?
By Wayne Allyn Root

*** begin quote ***

The Vegas Massacre is clearly the new “JFK Murder Conspiracy” updated for the 21st century. The whole story stinks to high heaven. It’s rancid. Clearly, our own government, FBI and Las Vegas police are involved in some sort of cover-up. The question is- what are they covering up?

Las Vegas is my home. I have the top radio talk show in this town. Many dozens of Vegas residents have gotten in touch with me to give me their take on the Vegas Massacre. Included in that group has been MGM employees, top MGM executives, survivors of the worst mass shooting in US history, as well as law enforcement and retired homicide detectives. From my own gut instincts, investigation and these interviews with key players, I’ve pieced together this story. It’s not a pretty picture.

Like any good detective, I have lots of working theories. A good detective doesn’t rule anything out. Maybe it really is as simple and clean as “Stephen Paddock did it, case closed.” But there are way too many unanswered questions, problems and mysteries with that storyline.

So here are my “Top 20” nagging questions, inconsistencies and theories about the Vegas Massacre…

#1) RAMBO.

#2) The Constantly Changing Timeline.

#3) The Police Homicide Division isn’t Investigating the worst mass shooting in U.S. history?

#4) The Vegas Sheriff.

#5) Where’s the video?

#6) The girlfriend.

#7) Money laundering.

#8) Rich or “Heavily in Debt?”

#9) Paddock Paid Off His Marker?

#10) Child porn.

#11) Every single witness from that concert that I spoke to, or heard, claimed there were multiple shooters.

#12) Jesus Campos. The “hero” security guard. Did he show up before…during…or after the massacre?

#13) Terrible & faulty security at MGM.

#14) The mysterious stock sales patterns of Jim Murren and top MGM execs and Board of Directors in the days before the Vegas Massacre.

#15) ISIS.

#16) Did CEO Murren & MGM pay for a terrorism insurance rider?

#17) The autopsies.

#18) Trump.

#19) To sum it all up… We’re almost at the 6-month mark. And we know as little now as the day after the massacre.

#20) Now here’s my biggest theory/mystery of all… the Saudi Arabia connection

INTERESTING: Well we’ll see on Saint P’s day how many “clean lifers” there are?

Saturday, March 17, 2018

FROM THE WALL STREET JOURNAL “The 10-Point”

*** begin quote ***

Clean Living

They drink less alcohol, eat more vegetables and less meat, meditate often, enjoy knitting and make their own pour-over coffee. Meet the “clean lifers,” the young adults who revel in dodging the indulgences of their elders. These typically educated 20-to-29-year-olds pursue healthy living as a way of asserting control and finding comfort in an unstable world, says one market-research analyst, whose company identified the trend as one of the top 10 emerging forces shaping consumer behavior. That has led product makers to target young adults who aspire to moderation but still might want to buy a beer, brownie pan or a packaged salad. Having grown up during the recession, many of these 20-somethings pursue healthful living as a way to find balance amid the global uncertainty that continues today.

SURVIVAL: Everyone should have a “survival plan”; if not a pack!

Henry U.S. Survival Pack with AR-7 Takedown Rifle – Why You Need One
By Major Van Harl
AmmoLand.com

*** begin quote ***

Mike and I both know that an individual needs a survival kit. You have the right to survive but you also have the obligation to survive, others may depend on you. Hollywood sadly gives you the mistaken impression that one nuke will strike your country and everyone will be vaporized, so of course no one will survive. If that is the case then why practice the Boy Scout motto to “Be Prepared”?

*** end quote ***

Regardless of how you feel about “guns”, tin foil hat Conspiracy Theories, or dystopian novels, the recent snowstorm has illustrated just how “fragile” people are. Many folks were without power for a week. Some just lost TV and / or the internet. Now imagine if it was for an extended period of time?

Either way, if you don’t believe that a complete collapse transporting everyone back to the caveman age is possible, then dial it back to a temporary interruption and ask “how do I survive”!

Folks are ill-prepared for any disruption. And, the supplies are all “just in time”.

Better have a plan!

ECONOMICS: Aren’t “tariffs” just taxes on “We, The Sheeple”?

John Stossel: Mr. Trump, if you raise tariffs on steel and aluminum, you punish consumers
By John Stossel | Fox News

No, President Trump, it’s not true that if you tax imported steel, we “will have protection for the first time in a long while.”

The opposite is true. If you raise tariffs on steel and aluminum, you punish consumers.

Isn’t this just a tax increase in disguise?

Maybe “We, The Sheeple” should subsidize the biggie whip makers?

Sorry, but tariffs are just stupid ekkynomics!

SECURITY: FBI paid Geek Squad employees as informants

Tuesday, March 13, 2018

http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2018/03/07/fbi-paid-geek-squad-employees-as-informants.html

The FBI paid Geek Squad employees as informants

*** begin quote ***

The FBI has been in cahoots with Best Buy’s Geek Squad for at least the past decade, new documents obtained by the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) via a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit reveal.

An FBI memo obtained by the nonprofit digital rights group reveals that Best Buy in September 2008 hosted a meeting of the law enforcement agency’s Cyber Working Group at a Geek Squad repair facility in Kentucky. The memo indicates that the local FBI division “has maintained close liaison with the Geek Squad’s management in an effort to glean case initiations and to support the division’s Computer Intrusion and Cyber Crime programs.”

*** end quote ***

While I have no love for child porn, its producers, to its consumers, I am concerned about the Fourth Amendment. It would seem that the Geek Squad has become agents of the police and subject to the usual requirements of warrants.

It sets up a very suspect set of circumstances.

How does one ensure that the evidence was planted?

Does Best Buy have a secure image taken before the staff works on it? Are patrons advised to take an image before submitting a computer for service?

Makes one think doesn’t it?

LIBERTARIAN: What Kind of Libertarian … … am I?

Monday, March 12, 2018

https://www.libertarianism.org/columns/what-kind-libertarian-are-you

MAR 7, 2018
What Kind of Libertarian Are You?
by Aaron Ross Powell  Facebook

Libertarianism comes in many varieties. Here, Powell sets out his own off-the-beaten-path version, with intellectual roots among the Ancient Greeks.

*** begin quote ***

I was recently asked on Twitter whether my libertarianism is of the consequentialist or deontological variety. For those not hip to the terminology, the question is about what sort of moral theory underpins my political theory. Those two—consequentialism and deontology—are, for many, the default choices when it comes to libertarianism. You can believe in political liberty because free people in free markets lead to the most wealth and happiness—and so liberty is valuable because of that, in which case you’re a consequentialist. Or you believe that there exist hard and fast, unavoidable moral rules—about obligations or prohibitions or rights—that we must respect, and doing so demands, at least in part, respecting the liberty of individuals. If that’s your line of thinking, you’re a deontologist.

My answer to the question-as-framed is “Neither.” I’m not a consequentialist, nor am I a deontologist. I believe, of course, that the consequences of actions and of political systems matter a great deal. But I don’t believe that consequences are all that matters in moral or political considerations. And I believe, of course, that we live with certain obligations towards others, among these a respect for rights. But I don’t believe that articulating a set of rules and then following them is the most fruitful or psychologically authentic way to think about morality.

*** and ***

My libertarianism, with its virtue ethical foundations, thus boils down to a deep conviction that good people, acting out of virtue, will treat each other will kindness, benevolence, respect, and so on. They will seek to engage each other through our most human of faculties, namely conversation and persuasion, and will not seek to get their way as animals do, with violence and threats. A political system built on that will be one of liberty, not coercion. That’s the kind of libertarian I am.

*** end quote ***

My libertarianism is rooted in my early Catholic grammar school being taught by the good Christian Brothers. These war vets were definitely scared by that experience and communicated it to their students. Not that they were pacifists, just that any war should be for only great reasons. And, that we all had a moral duty to the Works of Mercy — charity is one. It was emphasized that it was an individual; not a collective obligation. They were very contemptuous of Government “charity” as immoral, ineffective, and inefficient.

I’m not so sure I drank the Kool Aid of “religion”, but the “morality” did stick. In my lessons, I distilled that “capitalism” has lifted humanity out of the abject substance poverty around the globe. Hence that led me to Austrian economics and the whole travesty of Government abuse of Constitutional “money”.

That’s my journey to Libertarianism.

I’m not sure what kind of libertarian I am.
