American Legion seeking ‘new blood’
Maria Herlihy — May 5 2018 12:00 AM

*** begin quote ***

The American Legion was founded in 1919 in Paris and is a non-profit, patriotic, wartime vetrans organization and has since grown to be the nation’s largest wartime organization of 2.5 million worldwide members. It was  founded on the values, contributions and sacrificies of those who answered their country’s call to arms.

A person who is seeking to join must have served in the marine corps, coast guard, army or the air force. However, Pat Mulcahy explained that they did not have to have been in combat but they must have served in the army during war time.

“I’m afraid our members are dwindling downwards due to age and this year we lost four members,” he said.

Sadly true. Seems like the young vets don’t join either the AL or the VFW.

John Kerry Tries To Salvage Iran Deal Behind Trump’s Back; Secretly Meets With Top Iran Official

Saturday, May 5, 2018

Obama’s Secretary of State, John Kerry and a group of his former State Department officials, have been busy unofficial diplomats in recent weeks. While President Trump prepares to pull the plug on the infamous Iran deal, Kerry has been sneaking around the world trying to salvage the pact he presided over ahead of its May 12 renewal deadline, the Boston Globe reported Friday.

Kansas, Oklahoma Approve Religious Veto on LGBT Adoptions

Saturday, May 5, 2018

(From AP News) State lawmakers in Kansas and Oklahoma have approved legislation to grant legal protections to faith-based adoption agencies that cite their religious beliefs for not placing children in LGBT homes. Supporters of such measures argued that the core issue is protecting a group’s right to live out its religious faith, while critics saw them as attacks on LGBT rights.

I’m sure that it is MUCH more important to get children into loving homes; than to avoid LGBT homes.

To paraphrase Oprah, “you get a child, you get a child, and you get a child.”  Obviously, the recipients have to pass muster as good people, but that’s should be assumed.

Let’s get the children OUT of the State system.  Priority One.

“Money Is Gold — and Nothing Else”

Friday, May 4, 2018

This post “Money Is Gold — and Nothing Else” appeared first on Daily Reckoning . Following the Panic of 1907, John Pierpont Morgan was called to testify before Congress in 1912 on the subject of Wall Street manipulations and what was then called the “money trust” or banking monopoly of J. P. Morgan & Co. In the course of his testimony, Morgan made one of the most profound and lasting remarks in the history of finance.

Morgan: Not always. That is an evidence of banking, but it is not the money itself. Money is gold, and nothing else.

Congressman Proposes Banning Assault Weapons

Friday, May 4, 2018

“No one wants to take away your guns.” How many times have you been in an argument with a gun grabber and they uttered that very phrase? I’m not even talking about a variation of that phrase, I mean those exact words in that exact order.

Instead, we should ban possession of military-style semiautomatic assault weapons, we should buy back such weapons from all who choose to abide by the law, and we should criminally prosecute any who choose to defy it by keeping their weapons. The ban would not apply to law enforcement agencies or shooting clubs.

Anyone have any doubt what the “Democrats” want to do?

Can you spell “genocide”?

Argh!

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: The government school is the sacrament of the American religion?

Friday, May 4, 2018

FROM TOM WOOD’S EMAIL

*** begin quote ***

Our most recent episode of Contra Krugman — my weekly podcast with Bob Murphy that takes apart a Paul Krugman New York Timescolumn — took on Krugman’s claims about education, teacher salaries, and spending.

The government school is the object of veneration of the American religion.

Therefore, it’s become impossible to view it objectively.

But that’s what we did in our episode.

For example, surveys of adults in a variety of subject areas, from science to history to government, finds most unable to demonstrate even basic competence. It’s a disaster.

This after 13 years in the government’s system.

Just days ago the National Assessment of Educational Progress, a project of the U.S. Department of Education, reported that 65 percent of American eighth graders are not proficient at reading, and 67 percent are not proficient in math.

Students emerge from their 13 years, furthermore, without a single skill that can command a decent wage. In the age of the Internet, they’ve been taught none of the basics of how to make an online living.

Now if the private sector generated such atrocious results, we’d never hear the end of it. Why, these fatcats care nothing about education or the poor. Just their own profits!

But since it’s the government, we get…silence. Oh, and demands for more money.

(If the schools were run by Walmart, do you suppose these folks would accept the “we need more money” excuse?)

*** end quote ***

Gooferment Skrules are a disaster in every dimension, imho!!!

There were two great “definitions”:

  • The Federal Government is an insurance company with an army.
  • The State Governments are educational companies with police forces.

So true!

Seems like “We, The Sheeple” need to separate “insurance” and “education” from Gooferment.

Argh!

FEC hit with lawsuit over ignoring civil complaint accusing Clinton, DNC in election scheme ($84 MILLION in donations improperly distributed?)

Thursday, May 3, 2018

We need to turn this into a poster. That the Hillary camp did this, and to this point has gotten away with this is typical Washington/Clintonish corruption. On a pretty big scale though. Of course it does seem that the Clinton campaign was committed to “going big”. (From Fox News) “Based on publicly available FEC records, repeatedly throughout the 2016 presidential campaign, HVF would purportedly transfer funds to its constituent political committees, which included between 34 and 40 state parties,” reads a passage from a copy of the complaint. “On the very same day each of these transfers supposedly occurred, or occasionally the very next day, every single one of those state parties purportedly contributed all of those funds to the DNC.” The complaint filed against the FEC said previous reports showed a series of transactions in which the HVF disbursed contributions to its state party committee members — and they would receive the funds on the same day.
