‘Walls Work!’ Trump goes to bat for his wall again in early morning tweets as he quotes Obama and Hillary historic statements calling for better borders

  • Trump tweeted on Sunday quotes from former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton calling for better borders
  • He added that the reason Democrats are against building a border wall is because ‘walls work’
  • Senate minority Chuck Schumer revealed Trump threatened to prolong the  partial government shutdown for ‘months or even years’
  • The president confirmed this during a Rose Garden press conference and added he was ‘proud’ to do so
  • The shutdown began on December 22 and is now in its sixteenth day
  • Trump added he’s considering declaring national emergency to get the wall built
  • Vice President Mike Pence floated a $2.5 billion compromise from Congress
  • The commander-in-chief rejected it and said he is asking for $5.6 billion

President Donald Trump went to bat for his wall at the US-Mexico border by quoting  his predecessors.

The commander-in-chief sent out tweets early Sunday morning that drew on past statements made by former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

‘”We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked…” Barrack [sic] Obama, 2005,’ the first part of the tweet reads, which was spoken by Obama at a December 2005 press conference in Florida.

Clearly this is ALL political.  All politics all the time.  And tiresome.

For two years, when the R’s controlled everything, Obamacare was NOT repealed and the Wall wasn’t funded.  Now suddenly, it’s a problem.

Why do we have such problems on the Southern Border but not on the Northern one?

I think having “illegal immigrants” die in the desert of the Souther Border is unacceptable.

I think having “illegal immigrants” collecting welfare is unacceptable. (Anyone collecting “welfare” is unacceptable.)

I think having “illegal immigrants” being forced to come here illegally  is unacceptable.

I think that the politicians and bureaucrats politicizing “illegal immigrants”  is unacceptable.

Argh!

The American Dream is Being Held Hostage – Gold Telegraph

Saturday, January 5, 2019

If the current trend of cutting taxes without decreasing entitlement programs continues, the budget deficit will likely reach or exceed $2 trillion within the next ten years. It will bloat from 3.8 percent of GDP in 2018 to an excess of 7 percent of GDP in a decade. By 2018, the budget deficit will reach 10.5 percent of GDP. Within 20 years, the national debt with be 148 percent of GDP. Americans will become hostage to massive spending and out-of-control debt. With Democrats viewing increased spending and more government expansion as a magic carpet ride, the debt explosion may already be in sight. Their siren song of “Medicare for all” is attracting a great deal of favorable attention.

Grubhub Class-Action Suit Filed by Philly Indian Restaurant Chain Tiffin

Saturday, January 5, 2019

The thing is, points out Narula’s lawsuit, the phone number listed on the Grubhub app is not actually the restaurant’s phone number. We checked the Grubhub landing pages for several Philadelphia restaurants and, sure enough, a different number is listed than the one registered to the restaurant. When you call the number on the Grubhub landing page, the call is rerouted to the restaurant’s own phone number, and you have your conversation with the restaurant directly. Grubhub has no involvement.

That seems like an unfair business practice.

No using grubhub for me.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Proposes Massive Tax Hike on the Wealthy

Saturday, January 5, 2019

The 29-year old congresswoman, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who just took office says tax rates for the nation’s wealthiest should increase to as much 70 percent to fund a new initiative to combat climate change — even if that means she’s labeled a “radical.” “If that’s what radical means, call me a radical,” she said in an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” that will air in full on Sunday. “That

This is What Socialism Looks Like: Venezuela Oil Exports Slump to a 28-Year Low

Saturday, January 5, 2019

Nicolas Maduro Venezuela is home to the world’s biggest crude reserves, but the country exported only 1.245 million barrels a day last year, the lowest since 1990. This is what happens when a dictator runs a sector of the economy in socialist style and launches an immediate money grab.

A doctor who tweeted that she would ‘purposely give all the Jews the wrong meds’ has been found to have been posting anti-Semitic messages on social media for years.

Dr Lara Kollab, 27, a former resident at The Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, wrote in now-deleted posts that she hoped ‘Allah will kill the Jews’ and referred to Jewish people as ‘dogs’.

The Cleveland Clinic has since condemned Dr Kollab, who retains her medical license, and confirmed that she is no longer working at the hospital.

Clearly, this is unacceptable in the USA.

Not that she can NOT have racist views.  But she can’t overtly threaten to harm people.

For that reason alone, she should lose her medical license.

She can always do pharma sales calling on only Jewish doctors?

That sounds like a plan.

LIBERTARIAN: Counter-attack against Internet Suppression

Censorship vs. Suppression
By  eric  – January 1, 2019

*** begin quote ***

Libertarians – me included – have wrestled long and hard with this one: Is it censorship when private entities do it?

No – not in a legal sense. Because these private entities do not have the power to forbidpublication, per se.

But they do have the power to suppress (and even to punish) publication when the entities at issue effectively control the means of publication – and so it amounts to the same thing as censorship.

*** and ***

There is no Internet Samizdat – nor can there be. There is just the Internet, which is the only known means for the dissemination of information in the digital age.

There is also the fiction that the handful of entities which effectively control it and all the critical peripherals – which includes both “social media” and online advertising and online payment mechanisms-  are private and so we can’t – as Libertarians – object to their machinations.

Nonsense.

They may be privately owned, but so is Tesla – and it is very Libertarian to object to the rent-seeking and crony-capitalism of Tesla. Because Tesla – and the online entities under discussion – leverage the government for their private gain.

Where, after all, did the Internet come from? Was it the privately-funded creation of Goo-gul? Or did Goo-gul, et al, exploit what the taxpayers had been forced to finance the development of?

At the least, we are due some kind of refund.

What’s happened is even more obnoxious than what Jefferson wrote about being forced to provide money for the distribution of opinions one finds repellent – because it’s not just that. One is also precluded even from using one’s own money – whatever’s left, after all the tiers of government theft – to publish opinion contrary to the opinions one finds repellent.

Lech Walesa, phone home.

*** end quote ***

I constantly wonder why a grassroots (libertarian?) movement has not formed behind the idea of using the Internet Giants reliance on “safe harbor” to their detriment. They all rely on the “safe harbor” protection from copyright infringement. But, now, they are exercising “editorial control” and so probably can be held accountable for “infringement”.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: “Stadium Deals” should be outlawed!

Ex-Marlins President Brags About Fleecing Fans, Taxpayers in $1.2 Billion Team Sale
JERRY IANNELLI | DECEMBER 18, 2018 | 1:18PM

*** begin quote ***

At this point, every single person who worked for the Miami Marlins when Jeffrey Loria owned the team should be under strict FBI surveillance. Robert Mueller should be stalking these people. They keep revealing themselves to be vampires.

Case in point: Loria’s former team president, David Samson, hopped onto a stage at ESPN personality Dan Le Batard’s birthday party over the weekend and bragged about fleecing Miami taxpayers and sports fans after Loria sold the team for literally a billion dollars. Samson then flipped off the crowd. Had there not been security, he might have been guillotined, though Le Batard and Samson now claim that this was some sort of planned “skit.” If true, the skit sucked.

*** end quote ***

When will “We, The Sheeple” realize that the politicians and bureaucrats do NOT have the Taxpayers’ best interests at heart.

Surely, there must be some way to “claw back” these ill-gotten Crony Capitalist “gains”.

Argh!
