Covid Bill IS FULL of Expensive Crony Giveaways, Including $100M for rail line linking Pelosi’s district with Silicon Valley, Only $75M for vaccines etc.

Friday, February 26, 2021

(From FEE : COVID Aid Bill Would Pay Federal Employees $1400 a Week if Kids Are Out of School) Buried on pages 305-306 of the legislation, the provision creates a $570 million fund for disbursements to federal employees who are not working because they are caring for others because of the coronavirus. “Among those eligible are those who are ‘unable to work’ because they are caring for school-aged children not physically in school full time due to Covid-19 precautions,” writes Andrzejewski, the CEO and founder of OpenTheBooks.

Coded Resistance: Freedom Fighting and Communication

Thursday, February 25, 2021

It’s nearing the end of Black History Month, and that history is inherently tied to strife, resistance, and organizing related to government surveillance and oppression. Even though programs like COINTELPRO are more well-known now, the other side of these kinds of stories are the ways the Black community has fought back through intricate networks and communication aimed at avoiding surveillance.

Perhaps the most famous artisan of secret communications during this period is the venerable Harriet Tubman. Her character and will is undisputed, and her impeccable timing and remarkable intuition strengthened the Underground Railroad.

Well worth reading. Perhaps, everyone who wants to resist the State should be studying her.

TECHNOLOGY: Paytrust changed their UI

Thursday, February 25, 2021

It used to be perfect from my POV.

Then they “upgraded”

Now I can’t see my payees or my outbox of bills.

Oh well it was nice while it lasted now I have to leave them.

Sadly the worst part is no one cares.

Argh!

I signed up for T-Mobile’s $50 unlimited home internet service. Here’s what happened – CNET

Wednesday, February 24, 2021

So after more than a week with T-Mobile Home Internet, what’s the verdict? I’m keeping it, at least for now. There’s no contract, so I can always go back to Comcast if things don’t work out. And even if it’s not perfect 100% of the time, well, neither is Comcast — and imperfection is a lot more tolerable when you’re paying less than half what you were before. If this service is available in your area, I’d say it’s definitely worth a try. If nothing else, as noted above, the presence of a new competitor gives you a bargaining chip; you might be able to negotiate a lower rate from your current provider.

The Non-Covid Spending Blowout

Wednesday, February 24, 2021

(From The Wall Street Journal) Last year’s Cares Act distributed money mainly by state population, but much of the $220 billion for states in the new bill will be allocated based on average unemployment over the three-month period ending in December.

Vitamin D Supplementation Reduces Covid -19 Deaths by 64%

Tuesday, February 23, 2021

Vitamin D plays an important role in most diseases, including infectious disease, which is why from the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I suspected that optimizing vitamin D levels among the general population would significantly lower COVID-19 incidence and death.

Other research,27 published in November 2020 in the Postgraduate Medical Journal, shows oral vitamin D supplementation also helps speed up SARS-CoV-2 viral clearance. This study included only asymptomatic or mildly symptomatic SARS-CoV-2-positive individuals who also had vitamin D deficiency (a vitamin D blood level below 20 ng/mL).

Take Vitamin D seriously!

It wasn’t immediately clear when marijuana will be sold in stores. Murphy acknowledged that a commission will help address that issue, and it could take six months to a year.

Why do we need any Gooferment regulations at all?

Are they afraid that they will lose out on tax “revenue”?

It’s been a disaster since it was “outlawed”.

Get out of the way!
