My name is Gérard Hoeberigs. I’m a 25-year old historian, born and raised in the Netherlands. I have no specific ties with the USA, but I have a general interest in politics, economics and of course history. I’m currently occupied writing a thesis to complete my Master Degree in International Relations.

In the Netherlands there aren’t any libertarian politicians and since I support small and local government, I was very happy to find out that there is one politician who does share most of my ideas.

In the field of the International Relations, I usually clash with professors and students regarding sovereignty and interventions. I don’t believe that ‘peace-enforcing missions’, in which states force their system of government (democracy) upon other states, are effective. Just look at Vietnam; the USA were unable to force capitalism on Vietnam, but what couldn’t be done by coercion, did happen without American interference: decades later, Vietnam turned itself to a more capitalistic economy.

I’m also concerned about the ever-growing governments. From a historical point of view, it’s easy to notice that states have always been trying to enlarge themselves. Since the beginning of the 19th century there has been an exponential growth of state-power, taxes and civil servants. Big government is often counterproductive, but nobody is going to downscale it, because which civil servant likes to fire himself or his colleagues?

Except for that, I’m concerned about the devaluation of the dollar due to the trade deficit combined with inflation; the patriot act which undermines the rule of law (trials/lawyers aren’t necessary anymore to be put into custody) and the impopularity of the United States around the world. Not only in muslim countries, but also in Europe the USA have reached an all-time low in popularity.

When I tell my friends in Europe I support a presidential candidate most people immediately ask whether it’s a democrat or a republican. When I answer it’s a republican, people tell me I’m crazy. Yes; all over the world people have a tendency to judge on their prejudices rather than actually investigating the other point of view.

The thing is; even today most people don’t know Ron Paul. I honestly believe that if Ron Paul ends up as the next president, he will not only ensure peace, prosperity and freedom, but on top of that he will restore the popularity of the USA around the world like when JFK was president. Ron Paul being the president will not only be good for the USA, it will be in the best interest of the rest of the world as well.

That’s why I support Ron Paul.

Are you happy with using the Kodak page as a way to send pics? I bought a new Kodak camera and the upload/set up a photo gallery the Kodak page looks pretty simple.

Kodak is a name brand. There is one hidden trap. It’s dead drop simple to put the pics in, print, and share. BUT to get hi rez out, you have to join their “premiere gallery” for 25$ year. (50$ if you want a discount on reprinting I don’t print that much.) Then, you can DOWNLOAD a high rez version of the pics you put in. Otherwise, you’re uploading say a 5meg version, but can only download a 5k version. And, they do promise to keep your pics archived for an annual purchase of some number of dollars (One print order of $10? I think)

So I think Kodak sums up: (1) cheap photo archive; (2) cheap prints (probably cheaper than doing it yourself); (3) a neat one button fix of pics; (4) a central place for all your pixing activities. On the theory that you should never depend upon any ONE point of failure. I suggest that one should upload photos, fix ’em, hirez download them, and then send them to a gmail account (i.e., one message per “album”) with the album name in the subject line.

Also, since scanners are so cheap, old pics should be “captured” in the same way.

I’m thinking of the NOLA flood and SanDigo fires. Bet those folks wish they had such.

Plus, Kodak handles ANY jpeg. So, any important docs can be put into a jpeg and put on the Kodak site. (Cute huh?)

You are right that I’ve been prepping for awhile. After the first time, I vowed I’d never get caught by surprise again. I can’t avoid getting “tagged out” or “voted off the island”, but everyone can avoid the surprise.

I always am amazed at turkey’s whose resumes say “planner”, “manager”, or some such and who with a straight face exclaim “surprise”.

Did they think that only Detroit auto worker get laid off? Suffer “globalization”. Or, “foreign competition”.

I could retire again when the axe falls (as it always does), but I’ll probably be working till the day I die at something of other.

Do you want them to grow up “socialists”? Or, as the Dead Old White Guys intended strong, free, and brave?

We are spending them into oblivion.

Think after the fall of the various empires throughout history. Pax Americana is ending. Ugly, hard, and in an ocean of debt!

When your sitting your rocking chair (I sure hope you can afford one.) I want you to be able to tell all the grandkids about this loon of a uncle who saved them from poverty by a few hundred dollars to the Great President Ron Paul, who made America a great nation again.

The alternative is Zimbabwe like inflation, internal strife like the Tutsi (we’re all members of some minority or another), or an oppressive regime like Cuba or North Korea. Like turning a great ocean liner, it takes that steering rudder which turns the main rudder causing the whole ship to turn.

This is truly a watershed election.

You’ve got a choice in this election. It’s stark — one Texas obgyn who painted as a loon or any one of 19 stuffed shirts all saying basically the same thing “socialism”. My crystal ball is cloudy. But, I know, from the history of the Plymouth colony — Russia — North Korea — Cuba, that socialism doesn’t work and it eventually devolves into gooferment killing citizens. It even happens here.

Gooferment impoverishes the people when it debases the currency. And, no amount of lipstick on this pig is going to make it look any better.

Adjusting my tin foil hat, checking the beans ‘n’ beer supply, and cleaning my “urban yutes discouragement devices”,
