Challenge
We’re looking for a talented accountant with leadership skills, financial statement experience, and an interest in the mutual fund industry.
Our client is an incredibly successful investment advisory firm managing $18B in client assets in all 50 states. They have 275 local employees, and expect to have over 300 by year’s end.
This is not a traditional accounting position. Because of the continued growth of our client, they need a versatile leader who can grow with them. They also want someone who wants to learn the mutual fund industry.
Their environment is fast and dynamic. We need somebody who can take leadership of this department to the next level with the growth of the company.
In this role, you’ll perform the following tasks:
Review daily operations to ensure accuracy and compliance
Perform reviews of financial statements in accordance with SEC and GAAP rules
Research regulatory changes and industry developments
Prepare annual expense projections, establish accruals, and review monthly
Monitor several monthly and quarterly statements, registrations, and filings
Act as primary contact with auditors, custodians, and other related parties
Interview and hire new employees
Conduct performance reviews
Collaborate on various other projects

Criteria for Response
BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines
Experience options:
5 years of general accounting with 2 years of supervisory experience; OR
3 years of public accounting with CPA certification obtained or in process
Strong financial statement preparation experience
Strong interest and knowledge of investments
Mature, unflappable personality
Effective communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast environment
