We’re Finally Testing the Trump Mobile Phone.

As previously reported, we can confirm that the Trump phone features the wrong number of stripes on the American flag.

There are supposed to be 13 stripes representing the 13 original colonies of the United States, but the flag printed on the back of this golden phone has only 11.

The US flag does have the requisite 50 stars, however.

Mediocre at best.  And certainly not the “greatest”.  Like most politicians’ promises … sadly disappointing and discouraging.

I expected better.

RANT: Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has opened a public comment period — go away!

Disney Asks The FCC To Exempt The View From Rules That News Organizations Must Follow
By Luke Bouma on May 24, 2026

*** begin quote ***

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has opened a public comment period on a petition filed by Disney-owned ABC stations requesting that the daytime talk show The View be officially recognized as a “bona fide news interview program,” exempting it from federal equal opportunity requirements for political candidates.

In a petition dated May 7, 2026, KTRK-TV, an ABC-owned station in Houston, Texas, along with parent company American Broadcasting Companies, Inc. (ABC), asked the FCC to declare that The View qualifies for the statutory exemption under Section 315 of the Communications Act. The show, co-hosted by figures including Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro, has long operated under a 2002 FCC determination granting it this status.

Disney has filed a petition with the FCC asking the agency to declare that The View is exempt from the statutory equal opportunities requirements that would otherwise apply to broadcast shows.

The equal opportunities rule requires broadcast stations to provide comparable airtime to legally qualified candidates for public office if one candidate appears on their facilities. Exemptions exist for certain categories, including bona fide newscasts, news interviews, news documentaries, and on-the-spot coverage of news events. Proponents of the exemption argue it allows journalistic discretion in selecting guests based on newsworthiness rather than strict parity.

*** end quote ***

The Gooferment Federal Communications Commission should NOT be in the business of regulating speech.  Just as Carr’s comments about CBS had a chilling effect on Steven Colbert’s future, it should steer clear of politics.

You might be to ignore the FCC in the technical regulation of the broadcast spectrum, BUT, (and there is always a BIG butt), I assert that the “invisible hand of the free market” would do it better, faster, and cheaper.

When it comes anywhere close to the First Amendment, then it should be shut down.

Let “We, The Sheeple” decide the economic fate of The View, news coverage, or anything else.

The “public ownership of the air ways” is slender excuse for socialism!

VETERANS: Marshall put the interest of the country above any personal ambition

Although British Prime Minister Winston Churchill continued to have grave reservations about the strategy, at the Casablanca Conference in January 1943, he and U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt affirmed their tentative commitment to a cross-channel invasion of German-occupied France. As the initial plan called for the invasion force to be composed primarily of British troops, they agreed that a British officer should be supreme commander of the operation, a position Churchill reportedly promised to General Sir Alan Brooke, Chief of the Imperial Staff and the highest-ranking officer in the British army. But as the planning of the operation progressed it became clear that the invasion force would be predominantly American, so that at the Quebec Conference in August 1943 Churchill acknowledged that the Supreme Commander should be American. That officer, he and Roosevelt agreed, should be General George C. Marshall, U.S. Army Chief of Staff.

Marshall seemed an obvious choice. The highest-ranking U.S. army officer at the time, he had demonstrated outstanding competence, performing impressively as Chief of Staff. Nevertheless, many in the U.S. chain of command, including Roosevelt, had reservations about tapping Marshall for the post—not because they doubted his ability (none did) but rather because he had become so valuable as Chief of Staff.

Each of the other members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff counseled Roosevelt not to appoint Marshall to command the invasion (which had been dubbed Operation Overlord), arguing that Marshall’s continued presence as a member of the Joint Chiefs was crucial to the success of the war effort. “We have the winning combination here in Washington,” Fleet Admiral Ernest King, Chief of Naval Operations, told Roosevelt. “Why break it up?” Marshall, King argued, was “indispensable” to the Join Chiefs and “could not be spared, however desirable he might be as supreme commander.” Retired General John Pershing agreed, writing Roosevelt in September to urge him to keep Marshall in Washington. “I know of no one at all comparable to replace him as Chief of Staff,” Pershing wrote. To transfer Marshall to another position, no matter how important would be to “deprive ourselves of the benefit of his outstanding strategical ability and experience.”
Roosevelt understood (and shared) the concerns, but believed Marshall deserved and had earned the opportunity to command the invasion. In his reply to Pershing, Roosevelt wrote, “I think it is only a fair thing to give George a chance in the field. The best way I can express it is to tell you that I want George to be the Pershing of the Second World War, and he cannot be that if we keep him here.”

While en route to the Tehran Conference, on November 21 Roosevelt stopped in Tunis to meet with General Dwight Eisenhower, Supreme Allied Commander in Europe, and FDR’s choice to replace Marshall as Chief of Staff. At the meeting, Roosevelt explained his reasoning for appointing Marshall to command Overlord: “Ike, you and I know who was chief of staff during the last years of the Civil War but practically no one else knows, although the names of the field generals—Grant, Lee, Jackson, Sherman, Sheridan and the others—every schoolboy knows them. I hate to think that 50 years from now practically nobody will know who George Marshall was. That is one of the reasons why I want George to have the big command—he is entitled to establish his place in history as a great general.” Eisenhower nodded, but said nothing in response.

At the Tehran Conference, Stalin continued to pressure Roosevelt to name a commander for the operation, interpreting the delay in doing so as a lack of resolve to proceed with the invasion, but Roosevelt, still torn and undecided, refused to commit.

On the way back to the U.S., Roosevelt and his entourage stopped in Cairo. There, on December 5, the president invited Marshall to a private lunch, where he discussed his concerns, then put in the decision in Marshall’s lap. “What do you want to do?” Roosevelt asked.

Had Marshall asked for the Overlord command, no doubt Roosevelt would have given it to him. Instead, Marshall put the interest of the country above any personal ambition. He told the president that they should avoid a mistake common in previous wars, that of “the consideration of the feelings of the individual rather than the good of the country.” Roosevelt paused, then said, “Well, I don’t feel I could sleep at ease if you were out of Washington.”

Whatever Marshall may have felt at that moment, he betrayed no emotion. The following day, when Roosevelt asked who Marshall would recommend for the assignment, he said the decision should be Roosevelt’s. “Then it will be Eisenhower,” Roosevelt replied.
Marshall then wrote out a message to be sent from Roosevelt to Stalin: “From the President to Marshal Stalin. The immediate appointment of General Eisenhower to command of Overlord operation has been decided upon.”

When Roosevelt met with Eisenhower on December 7 and informed him that he would be Supreme Commander of the operation (“Well, Ike, you are going to command Overlord.”), Eisenhower replied, “I hope you will not be disappointed.” That same day, Marshall sent him the handwritten note that Roosevelt had signed, writing at the bottom of it, ““Cairo, Dec. 7, 43. Dear Eisenhower, I thought you might like to have this as a memento. It was written hurriedly by me as the final meeting broke up yesterday, the President signing it immediately. G.C.M.”

Operation Overlord, as we all know, was a great success. Eisenhower was promoted to five-star general in December 1944 and would go on to be elected to two terms as U.S. president. Marshall was also promoted to five-star general in December (four days earlier than Eisenhower). He would go on to serve as Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense in the Truman administrations.

The photo of Eisenhower and Marshall was taken in October 1944.

HEALTH: An “upper respiratory sinus infection” is nothing to ignore

How pneumonia progresses to sepsis: Doctors explain after Kyle Busch’s death

  • NASCAR star’s sinus infection reportedly worsened into pneumonia before triggering life-threatening sepsis

Melissa Rudy

*** begin quote ***

In severe cases, the infection in the lungs can spread into the bloodstream, triggering a widespread, life-threatening inflammatory response known as sepsis — particularly in vulnerable patients or when treatment is delayed, according to Siegel.

Sepsis can quickly lead to tissue damage, organ failure and death if not treated right away.

*** and ***

Doctors emphasize that sepsis is a medical emergency because patients can deteriorate rapidly within hours.

Those at higher risk for severe pneumonia and sepsis include older adults and smokers, as well as those with chronic lung disease, diabetes, weakened immune systems or recent viral infections.

*** end quote ***

Apparently, no one recognized the potential seriousness of an “upper respiratory sinus infection”.

It would seem that before that infection gets to the lungs, us old farts should get to the doc before an ER visit is necessary.  Heaven forbid, you need to be hospitalized.  Better to be extra careful around a potentially deadly disease.

For all those that say “I’ll never be in a racing simulator!”.  I’d remind everyone that roller coasters, minor car accidents, and falls can result in the same shock.

Forewarned is forearmed.

RANT: Trump’s face on $250 bill may be a “Bridge Too Far”?

Scott Bessent says it’s ‘fitting’ to put Trump’s face on $250 bill: ‘Great celebratory note’

WASHINGTON — Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent cheered on plans to imprint President Trump’s face on a $250 greenback, contending that his achievements make him worthy of such an honor.

Bessent argued that it was necessary for his department to craft a $250 bill with Trump’s face and signature on it so that the Treasury can be ready if pending legislation to that effect clears Congress.

“I think it’s fitting. President Trump is the president during our 250th anniversary,” Bessent told Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.”

I suspect that this will push the crazies in BOTH parties to be both overjoyed and outraged. Maybe some, both at the same time. This may finally convince some people that the 25th Amendment need to be re-engineered. Maybe an age cap of say 70 on elective Federal Gooferment office?

In Tom Woods Show episode #2764 with Doug Casey ❶, they make a strong case that: (1) politics attracts people who want to control other people; and (2) that DJT47 has all the characteristics of the worst criminal psychos.

While I am not sure about how bad or how good DJT47 is or is not, I am firmly in favor of an age cap for public office. And, maybe even a ban on familial linkages to prevent “ownership” of a Senate or House seat as well as families ties to Presidents.

POLITICAL: Get Israel out of American politics

David Stockman, Ronald Reagan’s director of the Office of Management and Budget, was even blunter than ol’ Woods:

In a peaceful, non-interventionist Republic, foreign countries would not spend tens of millions in one-off Congressional races because there would be no policy favors, fiscal lucre and military aids to lobby for. And AIPAC would not even exist, let alone be bragging about replacing the two greatest advocates of peace and liberty in the US Congress with two paid lackeys with their noses up the place in Bibi’s anatomy where the sun don’t shine. Bring the Empire Home. All of it.

*** end quote ***

I have become more painfully aware at the Israeli influence in our politics. The Massie race has magnified this to a point where it is unavoidable.

My hot buttons now are:

  1. Israeli political influence should be stopped
  2. AIPAC should be recognized as a adversarial organization
  3. Dual citizenship Congress members should be ejected and prohibited from running
  4. Naturalized citizens in Congress are not permitted to run for any political office
  5. The Military Industrial (Congressional) Complex
  6. Naturalized citizens who fight or pledge allegenice to a foreign country should be “denaturalized”
  7. American citizens who fight for a foreign country should be “uncitizenshiped”
  8. Those who commit felonies — green card holders deported and naturalized citizens “denaturalized”

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Quarantine? Used to detain American citizens

Omaha, Nebraska has taken center stage for America’s attention to the MV Hondius hantavirus outbreak—buy why Omaha? Despite the WHO’s narrative that hantavirus ANDV is exclusively spreading human-to-human, there is no credible scientific evidence that the virus can transmit in exhaled breath, coughing, or sneezing. The ship has not been ruled out as the source of the outbreak. Not all passengers and crew outside of the US are locked up. So how can Americans be detained?

*** end quote ***

I thought the same thing when I first heard the story.

What gives the [Federal Gooferment the power to “quarantine” Americans?

Did some bureaucrat just decide to deprive these people of their rights based on their opinion?

As the very least, there should have been some judicial process to allow the individuals to dispute the “findings”.

Argh!

The Gooferment does a poor job of protecting us from real criminals, but they are “Johnny On The Spot” to deprive individuals of freedom and liberty.

Where is all the so called protectors of freedom like the ACLU?

Well, score another one for the complete ineffectiveness of the Gooferment politicians and bureaucrats to prevent criminals from violating a protective order.

I’ve ranted on this before; many times.   Back in 2006, I wrote about the uselessness of restraining orders.

I won’t repeat myself; you can read it if you want:

If the politicians and bureaucrats would pull their heads out of their <synonym for donkeys>, obeyed the Constitution, this woman might be alive today.

I’d hand out “hunting licenses” to protect yourself with the Restraining Order!  The victim should be free to “stand their ground” and the perpetrator needs to stay far away.

If need be, the Sheriff should have loaners and lessons at the time the order is issued.

No excuses. No recriminations.  Keep the criminals in jail if you’re worried about them as “targets”.

John Oliver reveals the sinister truth behind those J.G. Wentworth ads

  • Last Week Tonight takes on the factoring companies working to fleece people of their structured settlements.

*** begin quote ***

Most of the TV-watching public in the United States probably knows the jingle already: If you have a structured settlement and you need cash now, call J.G. Wentworth (877-CASH-NOW). However, this is pretty much always a horrible idea, according to the reporting and research John Oliver presents about J.G. Wentworth and other factoring companies on this week’s Last Week Tonight. In short, these companies are going to take the vast majority of that structured settlement for itself while fronting just a small fraction of the settlement to its intended recipient.

*** end quote ***

Don’t miss this diatribe. It was imho a hysterically funny take down of a terrible set of “vultures”. I laughed so hard at the ending I choked.

Then ask where is the Gooferment “safety net” for those poor individuals, getting a structured settlement, and often mentally disabled.  Every State should immediately require a “guardian ad litem” in every structured settlement judicial action.  As John Oliver called attention to that and the resulting 42% dismissal / withdrawal rate.

It’s the least we can do to protect the vulnerable in our population.

Isn’t that Gooferment only rationale for existence?  To protect “We, The Sheeple” from all enemies —  foreign and domestic!
