VIN SUPRYNOWICZ: Obama ‘bitterly clinging’ to his fake gun numbers

*** begin quote ***

“ATF Special Agent William Newell tells Fox News that between 2007 and 2008, around 11,000 guns used in Mexican crimes appeared to come from the United States and were submitted to the ATF for tracing. Of those, only 6,000 could be successfully traced. Of those, only 5,114, according to testimony in Congress by William Hoover, were found to have come from the United States.

“Obama’s ’90 percent’ number refers, not to the percentage of ‘guns recovered in Mexico,’ as Obama claims, but to the ‘percent of the traced firearms’ according to an ATF spokeswoman.

“Mexican authorities report that in those two years, a total of 29,000 guns were recovered at ‘crime scenes.’ That means 68 percent of the guns recovered by Mexican police did not even appear to come from the United States. That means only 5,114 out of 29,000 guns used in Mexican crimes were found to have come from the United States,” the Libertarians conclude. “That figure would be 17 percent, not the 90 percent repeated by Obama.

During his term in the Senate, Obama earned an “F” rating from Gun Owners of America, as well as from the National Rifle Association. In an April 11, 2008, campaign speech in San Francisco, Obama claimed gun owners are simply “bitter,” racist people who “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them.”

“Obama is ‘bitterly clinging’ to falsified numbers, hoping he can take away the constitutional rights of ‘people who aren’t like’ him,” The Libertarian Party concludes.

Women, Stop Watching Oprah and Learn to Love Guns
by Karen De Coster

*** begin quote ***

Let’s face it – women are more vulnerable to attack because, most likely, their aggressor will be a man. Women are physically weaker, and criminals know that we are less willing to be mentally prepared for aggression because, unlike men, most of us just aren’t wired to be combative. A woman’s attacker will be bigger, stronger, and faster than her, and by nature they will be more aggressive, and that’s before considering any mental or drug problem that may be associated with a criminal attack. So why do women not want to take that into consideration and equalize the situation by learning to use and love guns? Dr. Thomas Szasz, libertarian scholar and Professor of Psychiatry at Syracuse University, once stated, “self-defense is not merely our legal right but our moral duty; because women are more vulnerable than men, their need and obligation to defend themselves is even greater than that of men.” Dr. Szasz is a wise man.

*** end quote ***

# – # – #

Let me just quote from Marie’s soliloquy in my book “CHURCH 10●19●62”

“Yes, we women do (kill). Did you know John’s paternal grandmother traveled the Oregon Trail, bore 13 children, and fought Indians and Outlaws? She’s in her 90’s now. I’ve read her letters. Women can kill when it’s needed. We may not be as physically strong as men, but who seems to get to change all the diapers? Don’t worry about the words and labels. Just do what’s right. OK?”

OK! Women are smart and responsible for their own defense. Wasn’t that what the “women’s liberation” movement was all about. Empowering women? So why do they tolerate male legislators making them victims of every low life man who wants to hurt them.

As Heinlein said: “An armed society is a polite society.”

Frankly, I trust women a lot more than I trust politicians.

From my cold dead hand …; yours too, I hope.

# – # – #

p.s., I tried to emulate Heinlein. The first book I ever really read and absorbed a political message from was his “Starship Troopers”. Admittedly a juvenile science fiction action novel, it was a College level course in Libertarian philosophy. So to, in my book “CHURCH 10●19●62”, I tried to get across my political ideas about Liberty. His was much better, but I tried. Hopefully, I can turn one person onto freedom.

Brady Campaign And Lautenberg Unite To Mislead And Control—Again
Friday, April 24, 2009

*** begin quote ***

This week, in a typically misleading move designed to bolster their political agenda rather than reduce violent crime, the Brady Campaign released a report calling for background checks on “all gun sales in America, including at gun shows.” The Brady report was intentionally designed to correspond with, and bolster, a “gun show loophole” bill (S. 843) introduced this week by fanatical anti-gun Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ). In fact, the Brady report was released at the press conference Lautenberg held earlier this week.

Paul Helmke, President of the Brady Campaign, said in the group’s press release, “We can do this. It will have no impact on any law-abiding gun owner in the country.” Of course, that is absolutely false—the proposal will ONLY impact law-abiding gun owners, including any law-abiding person selling a firearm to a law-abiding buyer. Does Helmke really think that criminals, drug cartel members, and violent gang thugs are going to start legally purchasing firearms and submitting to a background check? Law-breakers, by definition, break the law. They are criminals; they are predatory, they operate outside of the law. You know that, we know that, Lautenberg knows that, even Helmke knows that.

Lautenberg’s new bill is essentially a re-introduction of the same bill he introduced in the 110th Congress—S. 2577. And as before, S. 843 calls for massive new government powers to register gun show customers, register gun owners, retain information on people who pass criminal records checks when buying firearms, heavily tax both gun collectors and gun sales, and require gun show promoters to police gun show customers, as if they were agents of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

{Extraneous Deleted}

*** end quote ***

Once again, Lautenberg shows his age. He’s senile. That was popular BEFORE the idea that criminals by guns at gun shows was thorughly debunked.

Once again, we return to the concept that the only folks who will try to abide by the unconstitutional “victim disarmament” diktats passed by the congress critters is people who obey !

Time to vote poor befuddled Frank out.

Even in the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerzee, we can see when a man is being manipulated by others.

Pelosi Calls For Gun Registration, Opposes D.C. Gun Reform Legislation

In February, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) rightly rejected Attorney General Eric Holder’s call for renewing the so-called “assault weapons” ban, which expired in 2004 after Congress refused to renew it.

However, on Tuesday, on ABC’s “Good Morning America,” Pelosi said, “we [members of Congress] have to find some level of compromise” on guns. She noted that the Supreme Court, in District of Columbia v. Heller, ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual right to guns. But, she said, “We want them registered.”

Released by Giants, Burress Loses His Football Family
By WILLIAM C. RHODEN
Published: April 3, 2009

*** begin quote ***

A few days after committing the blunder of his life last year, Plaxico Burress sat in a Giants office with a look on his face that General Manager Jerry Reese had never seen before.

Reese had seen plenty — mostly disinterested looks through all the fines and suspensions levied during the course of Burress’s four years with the Giants. The lectures all seemed to go over, under and around Burress, but never seemed to penetrate.

Then on Nov. 29, Burress crossed the line. He accidentally shot himself in the thigh in a Manhattan nightclub with an unlicensed gun he had tucked into his waistband. Burress was charged with two counts of criminal weapons possession. Worse, his recklessness incurred the wrath of Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, who has made the prosecution of illegal weapons possession one of his pet projects.

*** end quote ***

If we were following that worthless piece of paper (i.e., the Constitution), this would be a non-issue.

The RKBA shall not be infringed!

So, while he may have been stupid or inept, he did have a right to that gun. He did have a right to defend himself. No one addresses the reasons why football players were afraid.

While I won’t get on his jury, one can only hope he gets some “gun nuts” on the jury. Or, some one who’s read the FIJA literature.

State Imperative – Confiscation of Privately Owned Weapons by Tim Case

*** begin quote ***

Far too often the concern regarding gun ownership has revolved around the question: “Will the government seek to take our firearms?” This has consistently been the wrong inquiry; it should never have been “will,” but rather “when will.” The former is implicit with the addition of the Second Amendment to the Constitution while the latter is subject to a number of real or imagined threats to the state.

*** end quote ***

The RIGHT to Keep and Bear Arms (RKBA) is recognized in the Second Amendment to the Constitution. It flows from the basic RIGHT to life. Everyone has that RIGHT, but the have to fight for it.

As mental experiment, be a Jew in Germany when the thugs come to take you to the death camps. If each man had a gun and the courage to use it on the first thug through his door, the Nazis would have soon run out of thugs. One at a time. I can see the conversation: “No, Heinz, you go first. I insist.”

It’s not funny.

We have had the Japanese Internment. Waco, Ruby Ridge.

And, it took 50 years for FDR’s involvement in Pearl Harbor to become public.

Sorry, maybe I’m a tin foil hat? I am a “birther”.

Each man and woman will have to decide when they are the Jew in the apartment. The “Jap” in San Francisco. The Branch Davidian. The mother at Ruby Ridge.

When do you resist? Each one us will have to decide for ourselves. What is your line in the sand? When they are loading you and your family on the train to the “work camp”?

Genocide can only be done by a gooferment on an unarmed population.

Gooferment is the meme that kills!

Robber fatally shot in Miami Burger King holdup
A robbery at a Burger King in Miami’s Upper East Side neighborhood left one person dead and another seriously injured.

An afternoon shootout at a busy Burger King restaurant in Miami left a potential robber dead and the customer who shot him seriously wounded.

The bloody event unfolded about 4 p.m. Tuesday at the restaurant at Northeast 54th Street and Biscayne Boulevard. It was a time, employees said, when it is usually crowded with schoolchildren and people getting out of work early.

The robber entered wearing a ski mask. He approached a clerk, showed his gun and demanded money, said Miami police spokesman Jeff Giordano.

A customer eyed him and the two started arguing. The customer had a concealed-weapons permit and his gun — and the two exchanged gunfire.

Vanderboegh: ‘Defiance’ — “Without a rifle, you are nothing”

200902010950.jpg

*** begin quote ***

Though the movie may insert inappropriate comic relief and its versions of the Bielski brothers are at times so incompetent that they would not have survived for a week, let alone for years, it does what Holocaust movies all too often avoid doing, it focuses on the survival. The Germans, when they arrive, are soldiers in gray moving in and out. The locals collaborate or don’t, for their own reasons. There is no moral to be learned, except that if you want to live and want others to live, you must be prepared to do what it takes.

That is the first and foremost lesson of the Holocaust to be learned. For all the unanswered moral, philosophical and theological questions– the bottom line is that millions of Jews were killed, because they could be. The only true defense against a Holocaust is the ability to resist and to survive one.

Before the State of Israel was officially declared, the Bielskis made their own Jewish state in a forest, to live as free men and women mere kilometers from their would be killers, and though like the real state and its real leaders, they may have been flawed, their triumph is not some uplifting moral, but a matter of accomplishment, the 1200 they hid in the forest against all odds, and through determination and hard work, they did not become victims or fatalities, they survived. And through their guidance and efforts so did 1200 others.

No higher praise is needed.

Makes me want to see it even more.

Hopefully, this isn’t a portend of things to come in America.

GUNS: Buy guns and ammo now?

Friday, January 23, 2009

http://www.lewrockwell.com/gaddy/gaddy39.html

Buy, Buy, Buy
by Michael Gaddy

*** begin quote ***

Before a standing army can rule, the people must be disarmed; as they are in almost every kingdom in Europe. The supreme power in America cannot enforce unjust laws by the sword; because the whole body of the people are armed, and constitute a force superior to any band of regular troops that can be, on any pretence, raised in the United States. A military force, at the command of Congress, can execute no laws, but such as the people perceive to be just and constitutional; for they will possess the power, and jealousy will instantly inspire the inclination, to resist the execution of a law which appears to them unjust and oppressive.   ~ Noah Webster

While we stumble along economically with bailouts, buyouts, and poor sales in almost all sectors, two products in America are seeing dramatic increases in sales: guns and ammo. People who never owned a gun before are buying; people are buying multiples of military style weapons and ammo is being bought by the case instead of by the box.

*** end quote ***

Forewarned is forearmed. The encrouchments continue. Watched Mel Gibson’s “the patriot” again last night. Seems so obvious. Why can we only learn the lessons of history after something bad happens to us. Look at the TSA and ask “how the hell did this happen?”. I’d suggest it was when the FAA disarmed the pilots. But you might have other opinions.

The RIGHT to Keep and Bear Arms — RKBA — should have been the First Amendment! Ask any tyrant or dictator.

It’s really the litmus test for a politician. Ask that one question and you can tell if they are a socialist or not.

U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush, D-Ill., is hoping to pass a firearm-licensing bill that will significantly rewrite gun-ownership laws in America.

Among the more controversial provisions of the bill are requirements that all handgun owners submit to the federal government a photo, thumb print and mental heath records. Further, the bill would order the attorney general to establish a database of every handgun sale, transfer and owner’s address in America.

The bill claims its purpose is “to protect the pubic against the unreasonable risk of injury and death associated with the unrecorded sale or transfer of firearms to criminals and youth.”

*** end quote ***

Columbine, all the school shootings, Mumbai India, and countless examples. The problem is not too many guns. The problem is not enough guns. Heinlein put it best: “An armed society is a polite society”. What do you call an unarmed person? A victim! … just waiting for an attacker.

Why do we have an unarmed populace?

Liberal politicians who live in a make believe world. (And, they usually have an armed security detail protecting them. You, however, are on your own!)

Look at Africa, where the corrupt gooferment disarms the people it seeks to scape goat, before it kills them. Look at Israel, when\re schools used to be a prime terrorist target, before grandparents started taking guns to school. Look at Columbine, where the armed police waited outside till the shooting stopped.

No, sorry, we allow school caretakers to carry knives, screwdrivers, bug spray, rat poison, and other power tools. A gun is no more dangerous than any other TOOL! Personally, if I can’t have the real Second Amendment back, then I’d repeal the “gun free zone” law. That just ensures that the law abiding will be unarmed. And, I’d encourage any one who works in the school to carry if they feel comfortable doing so.

See, to be safe, not everyone has to be carrying. The trick is that the bad guys won’t know who is a sheep and who is a sheep dog. They guess wrong; they die. They die; innocents live. A very efficient solution.

Argh!

Seems so obvious.

They Are Coming After Our Ammo- By Hermit

*** begin quote ***

Subject: Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009

It has already started…

Ammunition Accountability Legislation

Remember how Obama said that he wasn’t going to take your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no problem with taking your ammo!

The bill that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinois and Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacturer and dealers to keep a data base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what calibers.

Nobody can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition is coded.

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.) They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states: Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington.

Argh! Always, have to be ready to fight the gun-grabbers.

*** end quote ***

Interesting. Now, will he have the courage to mount a Constitutional challenge to the draconian NYC “Gun Control” aka “victim disarmament” laws!
Hope he does!
# # # # #
In a far more lucid explanation:

http://www.lewrockwell.com/kramer/kramer22.html

*** begin quote ***

In a free society, Burress would be responsible for paying his hospital bill and for any damage to the nightclub, after which he could put the whole unpleasant accident behind him and get on with his life.

Instead, the State is going to ruin Burress’ career and life, and cause unspeakable anguish for his loved ones, by locking him in a cage inside a socialist hellhole for a “crime” that hurt no one except for himself – and even that, just barely. The only victim in this “crime” is Burress.

*** end quote ***

AND, he has an absolute Constitutional right to defend himself with what ever tools he deems necessary. Mayor Mike Bloomberg did NOT get all upset about the football celebrity friend of Plaxico who was robbed at gunpoint earlier that week.

Indeed, if we “convict” Plaxico of anything, it would be “failure to properly equip himself” with a suitable holster.

Guns don’t go in waistbands. (That for the movies.) And, you certainly don’t point the end with the hole anywhere near your family jewels.

All in all, after you finish laughing at the idea of a wide receiver fumbling the gun, you should be outraged at the politicians who put us in this absurdity int he first place.

By the way, when Mayor Mike takes his famous subway ride to work, he had FOUR armed cops as body guards with him AT TAXPAYER EXPENSE. Sure, he’s for “gun control” aka “victim disarmament”; he doesn’t need to protect himself!

Argh!

The life and death cost of gun control
Hawaii Reporter
by John R. Lott Jr.

“Banning guns is in the news. India practically bans guns, but that didn’t stop the horrific Muslim terrorist attacks this last week. A football player concerned for his safety violates New York City’s tough gun control regulations by carrying a concealed handgun, and people call for everything from banning NFL players from carrying guns to demanding that the athlete serve many years in jail. Where is the sympathy or debate in either case over letting people defend themselves? Given that the terrorists smuggled their machine guns in with them, would anyone argue that India’s extremely strict gun licensing and artificially high prices for guns helped prevent the terrorist attacks? In fact, the reverse is more likely the case.” (12/17/08)

GUN: Use a tool; need support?

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

MA: Gun-rights advocates stand by Worcester worker – Boston Herald

“Antiviolence and gun-rights backers banded together yesterday in support of a Worcester liquor store clerk who shot and killed a masked man who allegedly pulled a gun on him during an attempted robbery. … ‘It sounds like a cfear-cut case of self-defense, which is what the Second Amendment is really all about,’ said Jim Wallace, director of the Gun Owners Action League of Massachusetts. ‘The (clerk) was properly lawfully in possession of a firearm. It sounds like a win-win situation.’ Forty-year-old Evan Louis Rivera, who entered the store with another masked man, pointed a gun at one of the clerks and one of the clerks fired back, striking Rivera multiple times, police said. Rivera died 45 minutes later. John Rosenthal, co-founder of Stop Handgun Violence and a rifle owner, said he supports responsible gun ownership and the use of firearms in self-defense.” (12/12/08)

Which begs the question, why in the world would some one who defends themself or their property need support. He should get a parade!

Interesting. Did, do, CEOs think employees are “human resources”. And, in “victim disarmament” Canada?

This should serve as a warning to all freedom loving Americans. Before pulling the lever this coming November, remember: both Hillary and Obama support draconian gun laws aimed not at criminals (because criminals don’t obey the laws anyway), but at law abiding citizens.

Luddite sent me the link.

Could it be that I am finally turning him to the side of liberty?

England is a precursor of the USA.

Our politicians are charging down the same path.

“Judged by 12 rather than carried by 6” obviously failed in this case! The English have chosen “victim disarmament”!

Argh.

“From my cold dead hands …”
