Our Lying Eyes: New Photo Shows Biden With Hunter ‘s Business Associates Despite Past Denials – LewRockwell

*** begin quote ***

“Lies.” That response was a mantra for President Joe Biden, who denied ever meeting or knowing about his son’s foreign dealings. Despite the pronounced lack of interest by most media outlets in the alleged multimillion dollar influence-peddling scheme, the House and conservative groups have doggedly pursued the matter and found overwhelming evidence that the President has repeatedly lied about his interactions with foreign clients. Now, a new photo further contradicts the President, who recently pardoned his son for any crimes committed over a ten-year period.

*** end quote ***

We have just seen the death of Jimmy Carter, who for all his mistakes, bad policies, and “wrong decisions”, was basically an honest guy.  He always was a “good guy” even at his worst.

Now we have clear photographic evidence that “We, The Sheeple” were lied to on many occasions.  Is there a diktat that punishes such lying?

If we can’t prosecute the befuddled old “king” because he’s senile, can we ask who has been running the country in his mental absence.

Can’t we prosecute those who lied with a straight face about how “sharp” old Joe was?

At the very least, since the Left likes to cancel people, may be brand liar on the foreheads of everyone convicted of the new “crime” of lying to the American people.

Argh!

I’m at loss for words to describe my disgust at these liars.

DISCOURAGING: America’s “sportsmanship” in action

College football fans want Arkansas’ Fernando Carmona banned for life after his ‘disgusting’ act

Furious college football fans want Arkansas left tackle Fernando Carmona banned for life after a shocking piece of foul play in their game on Friday.

The Razorbacks beat the Texas Tech Red Raiders 39-26 in the Liberty Bowl in Memphis but there was one controversial moment that infuriated fans.

*** end quote ***

Is this what best represents America’s “sportsmanship”?

Maybe it is the NFL-effect where bad behavior is condoned on and off the field.

I’m not sure what the proper response should be?  Maybe a suspension of Arkansas’ bowl participation for some period of time.  Maybe even a bowl forfeit  —  if such means anything.

Criminal prosecution for assault seems to be a must!

The Guatemalan migrant accused of setting a sleeping F train passenger on fire and then watching as she burned to death sneaked into the country illegally after being deported — and then stayed in the New York City shelter system, multiple sources confirm to The Post.

He first entered the US at the Arizona border in 2018, when he was nabbed and deported just days later for crossing illegally, multiple sources told The Post.

He then re-entered the US at a subsequent unknown date, sneaking past US authorities. It’s unknown how long he has been in New York.

DISCOURAGING: Everyone might have seen the 8th grade tests from the turn of the century … …

A Half Century of Miseducation
By John M. Grondelski

*** begin quote ***

The New York Times reported December 4 that math and science test scores for U.S. fourth and eighth graders have been essentially stagnant since 1995. Nor have they have been stagnant near the top — lots of countries outrank us — but rather in the middling middle. American elementary/middle school students perform behind Singapore, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, England, Ireland, and Poland.

“’This is alarming,’” opined a Department of Education commissioner.

Yes, it is, but perhaps not just for the reasons the article identifies.

The spin of the article is that scores are down and American kids have lost significant ground as a result of the pandemic. Author Dana Goldstein says the results corroborate “a large body of research showing significant academic declines since the Covid-19 pandemic began.” “Experts are debating potential causes,” reports Goldstein, including maybe the fact that American public schools were shuttered comparatively longer than in other countries.

Let me argue that spin is far too limited and selective.

*** end quote ***

I’m not an “educator”, but I can observe some factoids that do NOT inspire confidence.

  • Everyone might have seen the 8th grade tests from the turn of the century.  Some of those questions even I couldn’t answer.  As a fat old white guy retired injineer, I should have been able to “nail” the math and geometry questions.  Not so.
  • There’s a meme on Facebook that talks about a circa WW2 car owner’s manual that decribes how to adjust the valves.  Today’s say “don’t drink the battery acid.”
  • The amount of money spent on education in 1988 per pupil was enough the send kids to the private Petty School in Princeton.  Those amount have gone up from there.
  • Teacher’s pay has stagnated.  But budgets keep rising.  Teachers’s unions in the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerzee dominate the state legislature.
  • All the stats say either we are birthing stupider children or “education” ain’t educating.
  • Asian children seem to be doing just fine.  Indicating that non-Asian parents are not motivating their children to excel at anything other than “feeling good about themselves”.
  • And, my perpetual gripe, “participation trophies” that denigrate accomplishment and fail to teach children to deal with setbacks early in life.

In summary:

“We can’t solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them.” — attributed to Einstein

“Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” — attributed to Einstein, Ben Franklin, and Rita Mae Brown

So what can we change?

  • Eliminating the Department of Education seems like a reasonable start.
  • Returning “education” to the local communities’ control
  • Disempowering teachers’ unions
  • Ending “public education”!

Seems “simple” to me.

DISCOURAGING: “A bloke’s been murdered in the street.” — Piers Morgan

Piers Morgan was left in shock after gleeful former Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz said she felt ‘joy’ following the death of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.

On Monday night, Lorez joined Morgan on Piers Morgan Uncensored, as the broadcaster questioned her about her controversial social media posts following Thompson being gunned down in Manhattan on Wednesday.

*** and ***

‘Should they all be killed, these healthcare executives? Would that make you even more joyful?,’ he asked.

Lorenz laughed and then said: ‘Uh, no,’ as Morgan asked her ‘Well, why not?’

‘Why are you laughing? You seem to find the whole thing hilarious. A bloke’s been murdered in the street. I don’t find it funny at all.’

*** end quote ***

As a little L libertarian, I don’t often agree with Piers Morgan but from time to time, he is right on target.

How can you laugh at the murder of anyone?

There are humans who are so broken that it’s hard to feel compassion (i.e., murderer, rapists, genocidal maniacs, the insane).  But we should feel sadness every time an irreplaceable life has been lost.

While some deaths are wither unavoidable or unforeseen, deliberately killing anyone is a very serious matter.  That’s why we have jury trials.

But as a pro-life little L libertarian, I’m anti-death penalty for anyone. Gooferment can’t be trusted with the power to end someone’s life.  Maybe if a convict is too dangerous to put in prison, then maybe it’s morally justifiable.

Left liberals seem to be the only ones who thing that insurance company executives are so evil as to be joyfully murdered.

Argh!

Piers is right on this one.  Again, he and I are on the same page.

Criminals are looting millions from ATMs in Europe. Here’s why Germany is a prime target
By Sophie Tanno, CNN

*** begin quote ***

In Germany – Europe’s largest economy – thieves have been blowing up ATMs at a rate of more than one per day in recent years. In a country where cash is still a prevalent payment method, the thefts can prove incredibly lucrative, with criminals pocketing hundreds of thousands of euros in one attack.

Europol has been cracking down on the robberies, carrying out large cross-border operations aimed at taking down the highly-organized criminal gangs behind them.

Earlier this month, authorities from Germany, France and the Netherlands arrested three members of a criminal network who have been carrying out attacks on cash machines using explosives, Europol said in a statement.

*** and ***

A decline in ATM machines in the Netherlands and the introduction of enhanced security measures to crack down on the crime – including the installation of glue protection systems that can render bank notes worthless – has also led Dutch criminals to look further afield, according to Reuters, citing Dutch police.

Blue pigeon mystifies town’s residents

*** begin quote ***

Several sightings of a blue pigeon wandering around a town’s streets have baffled residents.

The bird has been photographed by a number of people in Maidenhead, Berkshire.

Some locals insisted the bird’s unique plumage looked natural.

But wildlife experts suggested it could have been dyed for a gender-reveal party – a tradition where expectant couples learn the sex of their baby using pink or blue items.

*** and ***

Rebecca Machin, from the RSPCA’s wildlife team, warned dye could cause birds health problems, impair their ability to fly and make them more vulnerable to predators.

“Dye and paints can be toxic to birds and other animals, and they would be likely to try to clean any such substance from their coat or feathers which could result in them swallowing it,” she said.

She also said she feared social media trends could be fuelling the behaviour.

“We suspect this pigeon’s feathers have been painted – something we seem to be hearing about more and more, including – anecdotally – at events like gender reveal parties,” she said.

*** end quote ***

Oh come on people, leave the wildlife alone.

Balloons are bad enough for power lines, birds, and fish.  Now you have to maim some poor birds.

How about you stick to exploding blue or pink powder packs?  At least, you can only hurt yourself.

ABC’s David Muir Lied About Crime Falling Under Biden-Harris
John R. Lott, Jr.  | Sep 11, 2024

*** begin quote ***

DAVID MUIR: “President Trump, as you know, the FBI says overall violent crime is coming down in this country, …”

In fact, Trump was correct about the increase in crime under Biden. While violent crime fell by 17 percent under Trump, Biden has seen it rise by 43 percent.

Muir doesn’t understand what the FBI is measuring. The FBI counts the number of crimes reported to police. Trump was right that less than half of police departments are now giving that data to the FBI, but, more importantly, Trump was discussing what was happening to total crime, not just the number of crimes reported to police.

There are two measures of crime: One, the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports (UCR), counts the number of crimes reported to police yearly.

The other, the Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Crime Victimization Survey, asks about 240,000 people each year whether they have been victims of crime, in an attempt to measure both reported and unreported crimes.

We know that crime victims report only about 40 percent of violent crimes and 30 percent of property crimes to police.

I think John Oliver recently overstated how little “migrant crime” there is. Maybe, just maybe, the R’s are hyping it too much.

I’m not a fan of either the D’s or the R’s.

But I do think “crime” is a much bigger problem overall and “migrant crime” is a component of it. Native USA-ers at WalMart, shoplifting, and flash mobs are another significant component of the perception.

Until the police and “justice bureaucrats” get tough and back to work, it’ll continue to be a problem. Some more traffic tickets would be helpful too. Argh!

In the mean time, cracking down on illegal immigration is a prudent strategy to “migrant crime”.  You can’t be unconcerned at the military age Chinese and Middle Eastern men in the crowds at the border.

And, we really can’t have “open borders” when we have a “welfare state”.   Never mind that we can’t afford the “warfare state” either!

Authorities Are Literally Losing Control Of The Streets As America’s Societal Collapse Accelerates

In a civilized society, authorities are able to maintain at least a basic level of law and order in the streets most of the time. Unfortunately, at this point it is up for debate whether the United States is still a “civilized society” or not. The chaos in our streets never seems to end, and those that are in charge of running things don’t seem to be able to regain control. The theft, violence and mayhem that we are witnessing in our major cities is being fueled by the worst homelessness crisis in our entire history, the worst drug crisis in our entire history, and the worst migration crisis in our entire history. If authorities cannot control our streets now, what is going to happen once our societal collapse reaches a much more advanced stage?

We’re already seeing an increase in bankruptcy and relationship problems due to online gambling. I suspect we’ll be reading more about the problems of online sports betting in the coming years.

DISCOURAGING: ‘Conspiracy Theories’ are not longer imaginary rantings of loonies, but warning signs of a downward trajectory

‘Conspiracy Theories’ Aren’t Theoretical Anymore
By John Green

*** begin quote ***

The national mood in the mid-twentieth century was very different from now.

  •     The United States was respected around the world — even if not necessarily liked.
  •     Technology was advancing faster than at any time in human history.
  •     Our cities were mostly orderly, safe, and clean.
  •     We believed there were few hardships which couldn’t be overcome with hard work. Opportunities seemed endless, as was our optimism.
  •     We were completely naïve about the danger posed by our own government.

Not everything was sunny. We had problems that needed attention. That is the nature of human existence after all. But when Ronald Reagan said, “Government is not the solution to our problem, government is the problem,” we just thought he was promoting self-reliance and highlighting government inefficiency. As I said, we were naïve.

*** and ***

As we watch all this unfold, we know that vast government criminal conspiracies are no longer theoretical. There is nothing demented or delusional about believing our government would willingly facilitate the murder a political threat. The actions of the DoJ in conjunction with the legislation proposed by the Democrats makes that perfectly clear.

The plot to place Donald Trump at the tender mercies of a prison’s “genpop” is not the only evidence of government criminal conspiracy.

*** and ***

Things have changed a lot since the mid-20th century. The children of the 21st century have a completely different worldview.

  •     The United States is a corrupt and impotent international laughingstock.
  •     We’ve become technically stunted. Replacing the Francis Scott Key bridge is expected to take three times longer than building the Golden Gate bridge almost a century ago.
  •     Our cities are becoming unlivable post-apocalyptic hellscapes.
  •     “Living the American dream” is no longer a middle-class expectation.
  •     We know that fear of our own government is a prudent mindset.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. doesn’t sound so crazy now that the conspiracies are no longer theoretical.

John Green is a retired engineer and political refugee from Minnesota, now residing in Idaho. He spent his career designing complex defense systems, developing high performance organizations, and doing corporate strategic planning. The wedding feast sits there, liquids evaporated, silverware corroded, cakes and food rotted; overrun with vermin and spider webs. She wears still her wedding dress, filthy and torn. The Day preserved, decayed and monstrous. Time and events move on around her but her past is her present and her pitiless future.

Will this be the West in fifty years? Surrounded by decay and filth but still clinging its past? Shouting about its ever-so-valuable values, ranting on about the Rules-Based International Order, boasting it’s the best at this and the most at that, issuing judgments on the bad behavior of the others, sanctioning non-believers, bathed in its media feedback loop. Still the highest GDP in USD! (Now Big Mac Cricketburgers are $1000 a pop, there are lots of dollars in every pocket!)

But nobody in the rest of the world cares. They’ve moved on. No tourist visits the moldering house and its unhinged inhabitants. They prefer cruising the high speed railroad from Cape Town to Beijing with a side trip to Baikal. Who wants to be robbed in the shoot-up galleries of Amsterdam, the tent cities of New York, the machete gangs of London? If it’s Tuesday and riots, it must be Paris. Young Harvard graduates pass out in their slums and dream of becoming a toilet cleaner in Omsk Airport – full benefits, you know. Plus dental. And you can afford a small apartment on your pay.

A pretty bleak prediction.  Given the national debt and unfunded liabilities, it seems we have no place else to go but down.

“Airstream travel trailers are not designed to carry passengers while in motion,” the company said in a statement.

Having had two trailers and Minnie Winnie, the trailer dealers drummed into us that no one should be in the trailer when it was being towed.  One dealer had pictures of accidents to drive the point home.  Even in the Minnie Winnie, the dealer emphasized seat belts when driving.  So this accident was predictable and avoidable.

DISCOURAGING: “Scrabble for Snowflakes” and “Woke Scrabble”

This is a game-changer.

For the first time in 75 years, Mattel is making a major change to the iconic board game Scrabble.

The new launch is a double-sided version of the famous board game — one side with the original game for those who want to stick to the long-time traditional version, and one side with a “less competitive” version to appeal to Gen Z gamers.

The flip side of the classic game, called Scrabble Together, will include helper cards, use a simpler scoring system, be quicker to play and allow people to play in teams.

DISCOURAGING: People seem to be giving up to easily

‘I’m 28. And I’m Scheduled to Die in May.’

  • Some right-to-die activists want everyone to have access to euthanasia—even young people with mental illness. Are they also making suicide contagious?

Zoraya ter Beek, 28, expects to be euthanized in early May.

Her plan, she said, is to be cremated.

“I did not want to burden my partner with having to keep the grave tidy,” ter Beek texted me. “We have not picked an urn yet, but that will be my new house!”

She added an urn emoji after “house!”

Ter Beek, who lives in a little Dutch town near the German border, once had ambitions to become a psychiatrist, but she was never able to muster the will to finish school or start a career. She said she was hobbled by her depression and autism and borderline personality disorder. Now she was tired of living—despite, she said, being in love with her boyfriend, a 40-year-old IT programmer, and living in a nice house with their two cats.

She recalled her psychiatrist telling her that they had tried everything, that “there’s nothing more we can do for you. It’s never gonna get any better.”

At that point, she said, she decided to die. “I was always very clear that if it doesn’t get better, I can’t do this anymore.”

I haver always thought that one of the rules in the “Game of Life” was that “You can’t leave early.”

As I have gotten older, maybe I’m wrong but how we treat and are treated should really value our humanity.

I’d sure like this person to find health and happiness.  I’m not sure that suicide is the best or only course.

Sigh!

Incumbent politicians enjoy record reelection in an aging Congress

AND OPINES on

*** begin quote ***

In America, incumbents get reelected north of 90 percent. Did you know in the House of Representatives, the reelection of incumbents has never dipped below 85 percent? So you only have 15 percent of being voted out in the next election. Who doesn’t like those odds? This is why nothing changes. We get the same people in office year after year because they know how to play the game and grease the right palms, all thanks to the fiat money printer.

If you want to see all the BS the federal government spends on their deprecating fiat dollar, check out the Citizens Against Government Waste website. This will give you a good idea of the crap that is being funded in your name.

So, knowing this, do you think they will willingly give up all this power, prestige, and influence? I don’t think so.

*** end quote ***

I agree.

So how do we rid ourselves of these “priestly drones”?
