Reinventing the Jet Airliner | Cato Institute

*** begin quote ***

Suppose I told you that I have reinvented the jet airliners that carried Americans more than 750 billion passenger miles–about 10 percent of all passenger travel–in 2019. My reinvented jet will go less than half as fast as existing jets. It will cost six times as much to operate, per passenger mile, as existing jets. Unlike existing jets, which can go anywhere there is air, the reinvented jet will only be able to go on a limited number of fixed routes.

Applying sarcasm to their “pet rock” project is a great way to “derail” it?

If the politicians and bureaucrats want it so bad and think it’s such a great idea, let them invest their retirement money in it.

Not very likely.

Previously-Deported Illegal Alien Rapes Two Young Girls: One Taxpayer-Relief Shot Later, Problem Solved – RedState

Sunday, March 21, 2021

An illegal alien rape suspect was released from jail in Maryland in August 2019, just three days after being arrested, despite a request from ICE to keep the guy in custody, so immigration officers could be sent to pick him up.

Forensic experts question probe into Tiger Woods’ crash

Accident reconstruction experts said the links legend’s inability to remember driving at all was reason enough to bring in a drug recognition expert, or DRE. Piers Morgan QUITS GMB over claims Meghan Markle lied as Ofcom launches probe | Daily Mail Online

# – # – # – # – #

I’ve never been his biggest fan. But, maybe begrudgingly in the past, I’ve found things to agree with him on.

I’ll defend his right to say what he believes. To say that he was heartless or wrong about suicidal feelings is merely a cover to punish him for his opinions. No one in their right mind mind would use a suicidal individual to get any necessary help.

I agree with him that if Meghan expressed those feeling to some on in the family or on staff and was told about “image”, then that’s the real problem. Not Morgan’s opinion of Meghan’s truthfulness.

I agree with Michael Malice’s observation that the Firm is more upset about the racism charge than having a pedophile in the Firm!

So, while England doesn’t have a First Amendment to protect Piers from the FIrm’s wrath, he should be welcomed to the USA to ply his craft here. I’m sure that he’ll find our politicians and bureaucrats as great targets for his pen. If he’s looking for liars, then we have more than enough for him to wrote about.

As far as the Sussexes, I care not that they have hurt feelings. I do care that they distract us from our important problems.

Congrats to Oprah for demonstrating why the British Royal Family is a too expensive luxury for the British Taxpayer and the World.

# – # – # – # – #

I remember watching this when I was growing up. And, other than sympathy for poor Sylvester, if it taught me anything, I taught me how pathetic one looked when one couldn’t take “no” for an answer. I was going through my first crush, and I was the one who was pathetic trying to attract a neighbor’s daughter. After that blinding flash of revelation from a cartoon, I was over her and on to others. Laugh! Yeah, I was a real ladies man in my day or so I thought. Laugh!

So I disagree with the good doctor’s assertion and dismiss all this “revisionist history” about how terrible cartoons were for my generation. We have lost the ability to dismiss the trivial. Perhaps because, working on out non-trivial problems is hard.

Voting Machine Hashcode Testing: Unsurprisingly insecure, and surprisingly insecure

Friday, March 5, 2021

Another gem in Mr. Mechler’s report is in Section 7.1, in which he reveals that acceptance testing of voting systems is done by the vendor, not by the customer.  Acceptance testing is the process by which a customer checks a delivered product to make sure it satisfies requirements.  To have the vendor do acceptance testing pretty much defeats the purpose.

‘Everything Has Been Criminalized,’ Says Neil Gorsuch as He Pushes for Stronger Fourth Amendment Protections – Reason.com

Sunday, February 28, 2021

In short, under Gorsuch’s view, the Fourth Amendment’s warrant requirement would only be waived in such cases if the police were pursuing someone suspected of committing a genuinely violent or dangerous crime, a category that necessarily excludes a great many suspected misdemeanants and felons. If adopted by the Supreme Court, that approach would limit police power in these sorts of cases.

Coded Resistance: Freedom Fighting and Communication

Thursday, February 25, 2021

It’s nearing the end of Black History Month, and that history is inherently tied to strife, resistance, and organizing related to government surveillance and oppression. Even though programs like COINTELPRO are more well-known now, the other side of these kinds of stories are the ways the Black community has fought back through intricate networks and communication aimed at avoiding surveillance.

I signed up for T-Mobile’s $50 unlimited home internet service. Here’s what happened – CNET

Wednesday, February 24, 2021

So after more than a week with T-Mobile Home Internet, what’s the verdict? I’m keeping it, at least for now. There’s no contract, so I can always go back to Comcast if things don’t work out. And even if it’s not perfect 100% of the time, well, neither is Comcast — and imperfection is a lot more tolerable when you’re paying less than half what you were before. If this service is available in your area, I’d say it’s definitely worth a try. If nothing else, as noted above, the presence of a new competitor gives you a bargaining chip; you might be able to negotiate a lower rate from your current provider.

The Non-Covid Spending Blowout

Wednesday, February 24, 2021

Vitamin D Supplementation Reduces Covid -19 Deaths by 64%

Tuesday, February 23, 2021

Vitamin D plays an important role in most diseases, including infectious disease, which is why from the very beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, I suspected that optimizing vitamin D levels among the general population would significantly lower COVID-19 incidence and death.
