Why Would the Feds Cover Up the Truth?
If you are under 35, you probably don’t know much about the Oklahoma City bombing. It was the deadliest act of domestic terrorism in American history.
If you are over 35, then you probably remember the U.S. government’s explanation of the crime. Timothy McVeigh detonated the bomb alone, they say, and that is the end of the story of what happened on April 19, 1995, before the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building met its cruel fate.
But what if the truth is more complicated? For example…
What if dozens of witnesses reported seeing McVeigh with a second person, the same second person, in and around Oklahoma City in the days before the bombing? What if those who literally saw McVeigh drop off his explosive-laden truck insist that second person was with him in that moment?
What if McVeigh passed a lie-detector test when asked about his actions leading up to the bombing, but failed once the exam shifted to questions about his possible co-conspirators?
What if, when meeting with his defense attorney after his arrest, McVeigh repeatedly used the pronouns “we” and “us,” rather than “me” and “I,” when describing his movements before the attack? And what if that attorney later went on the record to say, and this is a direct quote, “It was clear that Tim was covering for somebody else.”
Believe it or not, each of those events happened. Their details are all publicly available. But federal law enforcement has spent decades trying to keep those sides of this story hidden. First, the feds tried to coerce the aforementioned witnesses into changing their testimony; then, when those attempts failed, they shifted their strategy to pretending McVeigh’s partner-in-crime simply never existed. But he did. And he has never faced justice for his role in the murders of over 160 people, including nearly two dozen children.
It is hard to imagine how any of this is possible, but Americans should understand the cover-up is totally real. The U.S. government is actively lying about the Oklahoma City bombing, choosing the easy way out by disproportionately blaming McVeigh and pretending they fully solved the case. As a result, a killer, or group of killers, has not paid the price for their crimes.
A handful of options exist for why the feds would act this way, and we are not sure which holds true. All we know is there is far more to this story than the people in charge want you to realize. They are clearly hiding something. They do not want the disclosure the bombing’s victims deserve.
Unfortunately for them, the final episode of TCN’s docuseries on this haunting topic, The OKCBOMB Files, went public yesterday. It shines a light on what really happened the day McVeigh blew up the Murrah Building, exposing the hidden truth that he did not act alone.

- Hiding advance warning.
ATF informant Carol Howe said she warned her ATF handler of a plot to blow up federal buildings at least five months before the bombing. Critics say agencies would want to hide that to avoid blame, lawsuits, and political fallout. - Protecting informant networks.
Some writers allege a widespread informant operation leading up to the bombing, and that exposing it would have damaged ongoing operations and agency credibility. - Concealing the John Doe 2 investigation.
Attorney Jesse Trentadue alleges federal agents wrongly suspected his brother of being John Doe No. 2, beat him to death in a prison, and covered it up as a suicide. He has also litigated for years to get FBI and DOJ records and surveillance footage released. - Hiding a wider plot.
Some theories claim the truck bomb wasn’t the whole story, such as a cover-up of additional explosives planted in the building. Others involve white supremacists at Elohim City. The motive alleged is to avoid exposing a larger conspiracy or government complicity. -
Trentadue’s claim
Trentadue’s claim is that the FBI was desperate to eliminate anyone who could link the Bureau to a failed sting operation that resulted in the bombing. Writers allied with him, such as Margaret Roberts, tie this to PATCON, the FBI’s 1990s operation to infiltrate alleged right-wing extremist groups. This is his theory. No court has found it to be true. -
The Matthews deposition
John Matthews is a retired Marine and alleged FBI informant who, according to Trentadue’s sworn declaration, saw McVeigh and German national Andreas Strassmeir at a militia training facility in Texas before the bombing. -
The claimHillary Clinton — Whitewater documents
The theory says the Murrah Building was bombed four days before Hillary Clinton was to be indicted in the Whitewater scandal, with all the documents lost. The idea is that the bombing destroyed evidence and spared her. -
Bill Clinton and adviser Dick Morris devised a plan post bombing
Some critics, including Byron York in the Washington Examiner, argue that Bill Clinton and adviser Dick Morris devised a plan after the bombing to use it to discredit and outmaneuver the new Republican majority in Congress. Maybe it was so “post”? - Were Whitewater or Waco documents there and where did they go?
Theorists have speculated that Whitewater or Waco documents were kept in the building and destroyed in the blast. The government has denied this. - Were there reports about the CIA drug running at the Mena Airport?
A sheriff was tipped off that the records concerned an investigation into CIA drug running at the Mena Airport in Arkansas.
Sure is a lot of “smoke”; could there be a “fire” in there somewhere?
All the powerful politicians and bureaucrats have the resources to pull this off! And, we know that the Gooferment is immoral, ineffective, and inefficient. As well as untrustworthy.
I think it’s definitely “Possible”!
