I don’t know anyone involved in the accident which occurred this past March 6th, but my heart goes out to Dennis Frick, his wife, children, family & friends. Whether the driver of the Infinity was speeding or not, you will notice that the median is almost completely covered with dirt with grass now growing on it. Looking at a news video of the accident, you can see that the dirt is up to the height of the driver’s door. I phoned Officer Gliottone whose number was given at the bottom of the news article for anyone with any information. He told me that they are aware of the mound of dirt, which acted like a ramp, making the Infinity propel into oncoming traffic, landing on top of Dennis Frick’s pickup truck. He tells me that the family was made aware of this, and it has been reported before to the DOT (Department of Transportation), but nothing has been done about getting rid of this dirt mound against the median, rendering the median not only useless but a danger. He told me that if I file a complaint with the State DOT, it would be of great help to possibly get this taken care of before another accident occurs.

I then telephoned the State DOT, who in turn told me to call the Community Relations Office at 609-963-1982

Please, everyone, call them to make a complaint to get the median taken care of, and/or, you can write a complaint to “Community Relations Office, 1035 Parkway Ave., Ewing, N.J. 08618

I formulated a letter below that you can copy and paste to make it easier for you to file a complaint unless you want to formulate a letter of your own. I know it won’t bring Dennis Frick back, but we can possibly save other lives if we all stick together to try to get this deadly danger remedied. Thank you for your help!

RE: Median needs to be cleared on Route 1, New Brunswick, NJ, near the Goodkind Bridge

Dear Community Relations Office:

All medians need to be kept clear. Particularly at Route 1, New Brunswick location near Goodkind Bridge where fatal accident occurred 3/6/24. Dirt which has been allowed to accumulate over time, almost level with the top of the median, caused it to act as a ramp, which propelled the Infinity vehicle over the mound into oncoming traffic, landing on top of Dennis Frick’s pickup truck, killing him. The dirt needs to be dug out & removed immediately. Had median not been neglected, Dennis Frick may still be alive. PLEASE bring this matter to your immediate attention before any more lives are lost. Thank you!

Regards,
