The DC Gun Ban
by Ron Paul

***Begin Quote***

Gun control historically serves as a gateway to tyranny. Tyrants from Hitler to Mao to Stalin have sought to disarm their own citizens, for the simple reason that unarmed people are easier to control. Our Founders, having just expelled the British army, knew that the right to bear arms serves as the guardian of every other right. This is the principle so often ignored by both sides in the gun control debate. Only armed citizens can resist tyrannical government.

You have to like the fellow who understands the basic principle.

Governments kill unarmed citizens.

Look at Nazi Germany. Envision what would have happened when the Nazis came to collect the Jews. Even if at each apartment, the Nazis only lost ONE thug. You’d need a whole supply of new thugs. As an example look at what a handful of starving doomed people did with SIX guns and a lot of guts. The held off divisions for weeks. That’s a fifth generation war (i.e., the people against “their” government)! It’s not hard to imagine it today. Look at some of the Hollywood movies. It’ll be deadly, ugly, and bloody. But the people can never be defeated! Temporarily subjugated, maybe for decades, but never defeated.

Do You Dubai?
by Karen Kwiatkowski

In his second inaugural address only a few years ago, curious George asked this question: “Did our generation advance the cause of freedom? And did our character bring credit to that cause?” The jury is still out on the first question, if only because George W. Bush and Dick Cheney are inadvertently creating new libertarians at an unprecedented rate. However, the mainstream media’s breathless reporting from Washington and Houston confirms the answer to the second.

One can only hope that this gives Ron Paul a fighting chance. If they are creating libertarians, that’s good for America. Not so good for all those who suckle at the government. I think there are two Americas. The American of the producers and the America of the takers. Sorry but the golden age of taking is coming to a close. The takers have killed the golden goose. This cow is tired of being milked. While I can’t go to New hampshire as part of the Free State project http://www.freestateproject.org/ … … yet. I can arrange my affairs such that I minimize the amount that can be taken. The TSA infringes rights at airports; I don’t fly. The keystone NYC cops search unreasonably; I drive in. The income tax is oppressive; I don’t strive to earn more. In sum and substance, I avoid interacting with the various criminal gangs masquerading under the guise of government. It’s a fifth generation war. The people against “their” own gooferment. It’s not mine. I do NOT consent.

Michigan State Lawmaker Wants to Legalize NCAA Basketball Office Pools

LANSING, Mich. — Filling out your NCAA basketball brackets?

If there’s cash involved, technically you’re breaking the law in Michigan.

*** end quote ***

Where’s the victim? Where’s the coercion? Where’s the harm?

Yup, the gooferment didn’t get it’s cut! That’s why it’s illegal.

Gambling is immoral except when the gooferment gets a cut.

The lottery is called a tax on stupidity because the biggest winner is the gooferment.

Argh!

RANT: Maybe I need a vacation?

Did you ever have one of those lifetimes when every single thing seems like it is: (a) screwed up; (b) going wrong; (c) gone wrong; (d) irritating; or (e) Argh!? Did you?
