POLITICAL: Address “taxes” as the first priority

Trump’s Chance to Change Taxation
Cal Thomas | Nov 14, 2024

*** begin quote ***

If any constitutional amendment can be hated, it would be the 16th Amendment.

Passed by Congress in 1909 and ratified by the states in 1913, it allowed Congress to “levy income taxes without apportioning them among the states based on population.” At first the collection of revenue came from the very wealthy and in a small percentage, but World Wars I and II put the country in debt and Congress, using the power given to it by the 16th Amendment, began spreading the burden around until we arrived at our present moment when half the country and corporations are paying taxes (when state, local and other taxes are included, that amounts to more than half their income in states like California and New York). Half the people pay little or no federal income tax at all.

*** and ***

Younger workers would have freedom of choice (a phrase Democrats like when it comes to abortion, but oppose if it involves schools and the stock market). Workers could choose a new retirement system Forbes called Personal Retirement Accounts (PRAs).

Under his calculation, in 1999, younger workers could deposit 4 percentage points of their Social Security taxes into their own PRAs and increased their contributions as follows:

  • In 2003 – 5 percentage points.
  • In 2004 – 6 percentage points.
  • In 2005 – 7 percentage points.
  • In 2006 – 8 percentage points.

Forbes wrote that if his idea had been adopted, a single working mother who was 25 in 2000 and retires in 2040 could have earned a nest egg of $1.2 million in her PRA. She could then purchase an annuity that pays her$100,000 annually, nearly twice as much as she would receive under Social Security. A high school graduate who was 18 in 2000, Forbes wrote, and retires in 2040, would have a nest egg of $2 million.

Among the reasons Democrats have refused to reform Social Security and Medicare, both of which are projected to become insolvent in the 2030s without reforms, is politics. If they solve the problem, they lose the issue.

Let’s do both:

(1) Repeal the 16th Amendment and substitute tariffs.  (The Taxpayer pays for either.  But it changes the incentives.)

(2) Let “We, The Sheeple” put a small portion of their Social Security taxes  into the proposed Personal Retirement Accounts (PRAs) and allow a tax free rollover to an annuity at any future date,

This way we’ll get the best of both suggestions.

And, let’s enact the Flat Tax while we are repealing the 16th.

Then, we can repeal the 17th too.

POLITICAL: Where have we heard “a massive tax on unrealized gains” before?

Kamala Harris Vows Death Tax Increase
Meagan Dean | Sep 06, 2024

*** begin quote ***

Vice President Kamala Harris is on record in support of a Death Tax hike, including plans to impose a second Death Tax by taking away stepped-up basis when parents die.

Harris’ plans to increase the Death Tax are yet another example of the candidate’s willingness to punish hardworking Americans for their success, this time punitively hitting families experiencing the death of a loved one.

Under current law, the cost basis of assets passing directly to heirs receives a “step-up” to its fair market value. Without stepped-up basis, family-owned businesses would be stranded with a massive tax on unrealized gains after the passing of the owner.

Harris has not been shy in taking ownership of Biden-Harris FY 2025 budget, noting in a March post on X that the budget plan was jointly put forward by her and President Joe Biden.

*** end quote ***

I guess that small family farms and small family businesses are her target!

I can’t imagine that any of the D’s have any knowledge of economics.  Certainly demonstrate a lack of understanding of the basics.

What do they think that people will have to do when the owner dies to pay these “thefts”!

The Death Tax is one of the spectacularly unfair taxes.  Paid taxes all your life and the Gooferment politicians and bureaucrats take another bite when you die.

Argh!

DISCOURAGING: Crime is going up; the stats are being manipulated

ABC’s David Muir Lied About Crime Falling Under Biden-Harris
John R. Lott, Jr.  | Sep 11, 2024

*** begin quote ***

DAVID MUIR: “President Trump, as you know, the FBI says overall violent crime is coming down in this country, …”

In fact, Trump was correct about the increase in crime under Biden. While violent crime fell by 17 percent under Trump, Biden has seen it rise by 43 percent.

Muir doesn’t understand what the FBI is measuring. The FBI counts the number of crimes reported to police. Trump was right that less than half of police departments are now giving that data to the FBI, but, more importantly, Trump was discussing what was happening to total crime, not just the number of crimes reported to police.

There are two measures of crime: One, the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports (UCR), counts the number of crimes reported to police yearly.

The other, the Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Crime Victimization Survey, asks about 240,000 people each year whether they have been victims of crime, in an attempt to measure both reported and unreported crimes.

We know that crime victims report only about 40 percent of violent crimes and 30 percent of property crimes to police.

Like the Covid “vaccine” injury stats, the Gooferment has put their collective “thumb” on the scale.

Sigh!

Like economic data on inflation, they redefine the yardstick.

Argh!

All to make themselves look good.

Makes you not want to believe anything that they say.

Why report “unemployment nubers”?  Just report Social Security Tax Receipts.  Because they want to fudge the numbers.

Argh!

We know they don’t enforce the “felon in possession of a firearm”!  Why not?

GOVERNACIDE: Illegal alien Criminals — including killers — were preotect by Biden

Secret Documents Reveal Biden’s Border Crisis Was An Intentional Policy
Sarah Arnold  | January 14, 2024 9:00 AM

“Increased cooperation between ICE and local law enforcement is critical and makes our communities safer, so of course, this administration wants to limit that effort,” IRLI Executive Director Dale Wilcox said in a statement. “There is no benefit to this country or its legal residents by keeping criminal aliens in the country, yet it appears to be a priority of this White House. The American people own those emails, yet we are not allowed to see them because it might embarrass this administration and expose their extremist agenda.”

*** end quote ***

Amazing how much the Gooferment politicians and bureaucrats hide their actions.

So everyone is a risk as a result of this action.

Regardless of where you are politically,  we can all agree that criminals, who are illegal aliens, should be IMMEDIATELY deported.

GOVERNACIDE: Is the Gooferment killing us by admitting terrorists?

So That’s Why the Media Have Barely Covered the Fargo Police Ambush
Julio Rosas  | July 23, 2023 3:45 PM

Officers Jake Wallin, Andrew Dotas and Tyler Hawes were shot by Barakat from about 15 to 20 feet away before they could even reach for their guns. Wallin was killed with Dotas and Hawes were wounded. Officer Zach Robinson was nearby when the attack occurred and killed Barakat during the confrontation.

It has since been revealed Barakat is originally from Syria was allowed into the United States via asylum in 2012. He later became a full citizen in 2019, according to Inforum. While he does not have much of criminal history, only a speeding ticket was found, North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley revealed there was a Guardian report on him.

“Information that we have from our federal partners says he was not on the terrorist watch list, but there was this Guardian report,” Wrigley said. “I’m not going to say much about it except it is not, we are told, about a threat of violence or an act of this nature or anything along these lines.”

What’s a “Guardian report”?

How did this man get asylum?

SO many many questions, amount which, how many terrorists are pouring over the US’ Southern border?

RANT: Do not speak ill of the dead — they can’t defend themselves

Sad but Not Surprising: Professors, Politicians and The New York Times Speak Ill of the Queen and Her Legacy
Rebecca Downs

*** begin quote ***

Editor’s note: This article includes tweets containing vulgar language.

Even before Queen Elizabeth II was officially confirmed dead, her haters were dancing on her grave. We’re not just talking random Twitter users, but a verified professor, Uju Anya of Carnegie Mellon, as our friends at Twitchy highlighted throughout Thursday. While many current and former world leaders, including from the United States, have sent their condolences, those Australian politician Mehreen Faruqi’s rang hollow, as she brought up colonization in a tweet, and then restricted replies.

Condolences to those who knew the Queen.

I cannot mourn the leader of a racist empire built on stolen lives, land and wealth of colonised peoples.

We are reminded of the urgency of Treaty with First Nations, justice & reparations for British colonies & becoming a republic.

— Mehreen Faruqi (@MehreenFaruqi) September 9, 2022

*** end quote ***

Now I’m no fan of the British “royalty” or their system of Gooferment, but we here in the USA have our own problems.

Whatever you can say about the Brits, they are polite.  And, in polite company, one never speaks ill of the dead.

Sounds like Professor Faruqi is getting her 15 minutes of fame at the Queen’s expense.

Where has the Professor been hiding these comments before the Queen’s death?

And why restrict replies?

Time for everyone to turn away from “hate speech” and face our problems.  No one is perfect, but as “leaders” go, she was a pretty classy lady.
