POLITICAL: No doubt that “immigration” needs to be reformed

ICE Turns Its Attention to Sanctuary State Vermont
The Green Mountain State favors criminals above public safety.

This perversion of logic was clearly visible in the Burlington fiasco on March 11. A Mexican national who has entered the country illegally at least twice, and who drove drunk at risk of killing someone’s child, was defended while police officers were targeted. The vehicles were not unmarked; Corona-Sanchez was not sought for speaking Spanish.

Mob Rule by “Peaceful” Agitators

*** and ***

Vermont has ostensibly favored criminals and illegals over law-abiding residents for years. Illegals are granted driving licenses that are also used to register them to vote. Taxes for residents have steadily skyrocketed, driven by spendthrift climate change policies, ever-burgeoning public “benefit” programs, and failed schools that hire ever more bureaucrats as student enrollment declines in tandem with plummeting scores in core subjects. The once-Republican mecca has become an unrecognizable sanctuary for failed progressive experiments.

*** and ***

Comments on social media suggest many Vermonters object to this whirlpool of Marxist-like policies that are creating an economic cesspool in this once-thriving, idyllic state. Progressive extremists engage in toxic tactics and bizarre optics, such as the attempted Burlington arrest of an illegal criminal repeat offender, taunting ICE to send more agents to uphold the rule of law that once prevailed. Meanwhile, more and more citizens beg ICE to dispatch more agents to rescue them from this anarchic disgrace.

Akin to a “heckler’s veto”¹, this is really “mob rule”²!

Citizens have the right to petition for a “redress of grievances” but that is usually ignored by Gooferment politicians and bureaucrats.   They do have the power of “jury nullification”³ that id aa much bigger “slap in the face” to powerful!

Mob rule is unacceptable in a free society.

If the mob doesn’t like the law that ICE is enforcing, jury nullification is the proper remedy.

I, for one, would much rather:

(1) More reasonable DUI laws for first offenders.  So if I was on a jury in a DUI case for a first offender, where there was no damage, injury, or heaven forbid a death, then I’d vote “not guilty”  because of the draconian penalties;  on the other hand … …

(2) Strict sentences for repeat DUIs.  The Gooferment exists to protect us from ourselves.  Hence, those otherwise draconian penalties are warranted.

(3) When someone has come to the attention of the judicial bureaucrats, it’s fair to examine what else they may be guilty of.  Immigration status is perfect time for enforcement. If you have no right to be here, then you should be IMMEDIATELY deported.

There’s no doubt that “immigration” needs to be reformed.  As does “welfare”, but by reasoned discourse; not mob rule.

IMHO

¹ A “heckler’s veto”occurs when a  crowd restricts or silences a speaker to prevent a hostile, disorderly, or violent reaction from an audience. Coined by Harry Kalven, this concept describes how a crowd’s negative response can effectively veto free speech.

² Also known as “mobocracy,” it is government by the masses or a chaotic crowd.

³ While juries have the power to nullify (a “not guilty” verdict is generally final and cannot be overturned), they are not often told they have this right, and lawyers are generally prohibited from directly advocating for it in court.

NEWJERSEY: Criminal aliens roaming the USA should be as rare as a three dollar bill!

‘Sanctuary state failure’: Trump administration targets NJ after bus rock attack suspect stayed free
Dan Alexander Published: January 26, 2026

  • DHS has a detainer on the man accused of throwing a rock at a school bus
  • Hernando Garciamorales was charged with burglary in 2006 but remained free
  • DHS blames New Jersey’s sanctuary policies for allowing the suspect to remain free

*** begin quote ***

Hernando Garciamorales, a Mexican national, confessed to police that he threw a rock at the school bus carrying students from the Yeshivat Noam Jewish school home from a class trip on Jan. 4. The rock seriously injured the skull of a schoolgirl

During his detention hearing, prosecutors said Garciamorales had been charged with burglary in 2006 and was not taken into custody on the charge until 2023.

Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin blamed New Jersey for being a “sanctuary state,” which she says allowed Garciamorales to be released multiple times. It’s not known when Garciamorales entered the United States.

“ICE has lodged an arrest detainer against this monster, and we hope New Jersey’s sanctuary politicians will help us keep him off American streets for good. Under President Trump and Secretary Noem, criminal illegal aliens have no place in the U.S.,” McLaughlin said.

I’ve always said that Gooferment is at all levels immoral, ineffective, and inefficient. As well as untrustworthy.

Here’s a classic example, an illegal alien charged in 2006 and free to roam for “forever”.  Until he commits a shocking hate crime, do all the politicians and bureaucrats get into gear.

Argh!

Criminal aliens roaming the USA should be like pink elephants, jumbo shrimp, and free lunch, nonexistent!

Anywhere in the USA but also in the Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerzee!
