Charlie Kirk assassin most likely ‘internet shooter’ who took advantage of low-security spot: elite sharpshooter

Ranstad believes the gunman used a high-powered rifle during Wednesday’s shooting.
“I don’t think it was an AR, the crack had too much base in it, not a crack like an AR,” he said, claiming it was either from a .308 bolt action or a 7.62 x 39mm.
He called on investigators to check local gun ranges for any unusual activities in the weeks leading up to Kirk’s murder.
“Any bloke can go to the range three or four times and make that shot. I would start looking at range time if I was police,” he told the outlet. “They should get all the videos, who’s got what rifle and who isn’t properly trained so don’t know how to control their blood pressure and adrenaline.

IMHO “easy shot”. 200 yards. Slightly down. No real security. One shot. Smells professional — except for one fact.
I bet all politicians and bureaucrats will be better protected now.
This is the stuff that you see in the movies.
Definitely someone with some training, maybe a lot.
Could be an experienced deer hunter with that type of weapon,
Not your average “mass shooter” kid on drugs, or gang banger.
Given what is known publicly, he may never be found.
Unless he carelessly left brass, fingerprints, dna, or some type of trash, there may not be a lot of physical evidence,
Unless they have a picture of him that they have not released, it’s going to be a tough case.
The one fact that says not a pro — If he was “camouflaged” at least his face, then I’d suspect a professional. Otherwise, I’d bet on a “deer hunter”.
But what do I know?
Technically any good shooter could have done it, but this is not the work of a noob.
We shall see.
I’m sure that all the survivalists and patriots are watching this one. Like the internet memes, always point out — if guns were the problem, you’d know it — “You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.” — apocryphal unsourced quote attributed to Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto — Rambo movie about body bags. —
