  •     Lynda Bluestein, 76, who had terminal cancer, ended her life in Vermont on Thursday and her husband described it as ‘comfortable and peaceful’ 
  •     Her last words were ‘I’m so happy I don’t have to do this (suffer) anymore,’ her husband Paul wrote in an email to the group Compassion & Choices
  •     The organization filed a lawsuit against Vermont in 2022 on behalf of Bluestein, of Bridgeport, Connecticut, and Diana Barnard, a physician from Middlebury

Over 200 terminally-ill people have chosen to receive life-ending drugs in Vermont in the past decade since the state legalized assisted suicide in 2013.

A new report by the Vermont Department of Health revealed that 203 patients chose to ‘die with dignity’ between May 2013 and June 2023.

In May 2013, the Vermont General Assembly passed Act 39, which allows capable, terminally ill adult patients to request and obtain a prescription for life-ending medication to hasten their death. Participation by patients and doctors is entirely voluntary.

I remember Sarah Palin calling Obamacare out for “death panels”.   She was right.

When will this “mercy” become applied to the frail old people, the chronically ill, “defectives” at birth, and the hopeless drug addicts?

When will the wacko Left get to apply it to “the deplorables”?

Nice to know I have this as an option when I run out of money and become a drag on “society”!
