RANT: Why they haven’t struck more often and harder?

Security Theater: Customary Federal Pointlessness
By Fred Reed
December 4, 2015

*** begin quote ***

The future? Hard to say. As I write, President B. Hussein Obama is endeavoring to import tens of thousands of Moslems. It will be impossible to screen them, presumably making the importation a free ride into the US for terrorists if they so choose. It is not politically incorrect to note that the countless Moslem terrorists in recent years have been countless Moslem terrorists. It is, however, true. The greatest question about terrorists is not whether they can, but why they haven’t.

*** end quote ***

Stipulating that all this “security” is nothing more than “theater”, as originally identified by Bruce Schneier @schneier.com, this is an essential interesting question.

If it’s so easy, why haven’t the terrorists struck more and harder.

It’s not like there are not huge numbers of gun free zones.

Perhaps there are NOT as many terrorists as we have been led to believe?

Maybe the pool of potential “suicide bombers” isn’t so large?

Hmmm, it which case, “cut bono”? The Gooferment keeping us “safe”!

Argh!

Wake up, Sheeple. You’re being shorn again.

GUNS: Of course, San Bernardino was terrorism — international Paris style

“It’s terrorism,” he declared. “When you mass-murder, when you slaughter 15, 20 people, injure another dozen, it’s terrorism in my eye.

“Whether you want to call it domestic or international, it doesn’t make any difference.”

*** end quote ***

And this in the gun control state of California?

Argh!

And out of 200 people, not one was armed.

And no security.

How does that saying go: “If you want peace, prepare for war.”?

All we hear from BHO, Hillary, and Sanders is “gun control”. How did that work out for those victims?

RANT: What did Sandy Berger take?

Thursday, December 3, 2015

Sandy Berger, former national security adviser, dies
By Nick Gass12/02/15 09:44 AM EST Updated 12/02/15 11:04 AM EST

*** begin quote ***

Berger’s legacy was marred, however, when he pleaded guilty in 2005 to removing highly classified documents from the National Archives in Washington the previous year. The inspector general of the National Archives said that a staff member had witnessed the former NSA adviser wrapping the classified documents around his socks and under his pants.

He was fined $50,000, sentenced to two years’ probation and stripped of his security clearance for three years. Following a Justice Department investigation and subsequent congressional hearings, Berger voluntarily gave up his license to practice law in 2007.

*** end quote ***

What did Sandy Berger take?

And why?

Guess we’ll never have an answer to that question.

Had to be at the behest and benefit of the Clintons.

Another unanswered question.

RANT: Muslim taxi driver shot in the back

Passenger rants about Islamic State before shooting Muslim taxi driver in back

November 30

But by the time it was over, the Pittsburgh taxi driver — a 38-year-old Muslim man from Morocco — had a bullet wound in his upper back and was lucky to be alive, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Pittsburgh police are investigating the Thanksgiving Day shooting, and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) is asking for more help: CAIR, the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, has called on the Justice Department to investigate the incident as a hate crime — which, it said, was “similar to a growing number of attacks targeting the nation’s Muslim community following the recent terror attacks in Paris.”

*** and ***

The cab driver told the Post-Gazette that he doesn’t want revenge, but he does want justice.

“In our religion, Islam, we forgive, even in such conditions,” he said. “I learned this from our prophet Muhammad. We don’t take revenge. I could forgive this, but I still want my rights.”

*** end quote ***

Absolutely unacceptable.

Probably a drunk from the casino trying to beat the guy for the fare.

POLITICAL: Will this end Obama / SCOTUS care?

SUPREMES ASKED TO RULE ON ‘SHELL GAME’ TAXATION
Was ‘seedbed in which the people’s right not to be taxed without representation sprouted’

BOB UNRUH

*** begin quote ***

“Obamacare raises taxes by hundreds of billions of dollars, but it was enacted in violation of the Origination Clause, which was designed to safeguard against arbitrary and reckless taxation. Obamacare was unveiled in the Senate, even though the Origination Clause requires taxes to start in the House, the body closest to the people,” he said.

“Pacific Legal Foundation and Matt Sissel are asking the Supreme Court to accept our challenge to Obamacare, in order to uphold and enforce the Constitution’s safeguards against arbitrary taxation, and to liberate Americans from a harmful law that was imposed in defiance of those procedures and protections,” said Sandefur.

Pacific Legal argues that Reid simply took the number of a House-passed bill that raised no taxes and and pasted it on the front of the thousands of pages of Obamacare, which taxes Americans $500 billion a year.

*** end quote ***

Not very likely.

We’re already seen SCOTUS turn itself into knots to keep it a la “it’s not a tax” / “it is a tax”.

RANT: “Speed limits” are about revenue generation

For example, a memo issued to the highwaymen of Fairfax County, Virginia:

“Two traffic stops is the minimum acceptable daily average, calculated on a monthly basis. Either two summons and one warning must be issued and entered per day on average. TINFOILHAT: The JFK cover up IS proof

The Mystery of the Constant Flow of JFK Disinformation
By Russ Baker and Milicent Cranor Who.What.Why.
November 25, 2015

*** begin quote ***

One can debate that forever, though the assembled evidence is that it was not Oswald at all who wanted Kennedy dead, not Oswald who shot him. More important, however, is the evidence, everywhere, of a coverup — from hanky-panky in the autopsy room to a shockingly premature termination of any efforts to seriously investigate. Was the coverup itself not proof of more going on? Of course it was.

*** end quote ***

Of course, and the cover up is often worse than the crime.

As a dedicated tin foil hat, I firmly believe that there is a lot more “covering up” than we understand.

I also think that it’s essential to just ask questions and not speculate.

The label, tin foil hat, and “Conspiracy Theorist”, are use to smear and denigrate legitimate questions.

After all, what is the harm in asking “questions”. Other than the answers might lead to more questions than answers.

I, for one, don’t know the “answer”, but every surely knows the “questions” (i.e., what are the facts; cut bono; where is the evidence).

SECURITY: How to spot a fake email?

Wednesday, November 25, 2015

http://www.foxnews.com/tech/2015/11/22/tech-q-spy-apps-fake-email-and-bluetooth-speakers.html?intcmp=hpff

How to spot a fake email?

*** begin quote ***

Q. I got an email from Amazon that was a security alert about my account. How can you tell if it’s legit or not?

A. The fake email is a favorite of scammers trying to steal your information. Major companies don’t send out emails that haven’t been checked by a team of professional writers and editors, so poor writing is a dead giveaway. They also won’t ask you to click on anything or download an attachment.

*** end quote ***

I have a better way. GET YOUR OWN DOMAIN!

May I suggest that you have your own domain? The common wisdom, or is that common whizdumb, is to own your own name as a domain name. I gives one quite a bit of control. And, it’s very cheap. I know three solutions at 15$/year using wordpressdotcom with gmail, 25$/year email only with 1and1, and 60$/year for domain+email+webspace also at 1and1. My point is not that you should use 1and1. http://www.1and1.com/?k_id=9113251 I could care less which one you use. It’s that getting on to your own domain with email is cheap and easy. And, it’s not hotmail, yahoo, or gmail. It IS your own “personal brand”.

https://reinkefaceslife.com/2010/02/27/service-your-isp-email-address-is-a-trap/

And you don’t want your ISP, like comcast, twc, or aol, to lock you into their service.

https://reinkefaceslife.com/2007/07/14/productivity-changing-email-addresses/

And you don’t want the hassle of changing your email and risk “losing” people.

Use my trick of assigning specific emails to your correspondents. For example, XRAY0001 at my domain is American Express. If I EVER get an email from Amex that doesn’t come in on that address, I know it’s a fraud and I delete it right away. Easy peasy!

Simple!

For cheap protection. Do it now. Lest a Nigerian Prince catch you “asleep at the switch”.

GUNS: What are the four charges for an antique gun

Maryland student who prompted closure of campus found dead
Published November 22, 2015 FoxNews.com

*** begin quote ***

Marberger had been wanted on four charges after authorities said he displayed an antique gun at his fraternity house last month. Phi Delta Theta fraternity kicked him out last week and last Sunday he resigned his position as speaker of the senate in the college’s student government.

Chestertown Police Chief Adrian Baker told WTTG he was scheduled to have a hearing based on the school’s honor code. Baker told the Fox affiliate Marberger didn’t make any threats against the school or students. It closed proactively.

*** end quote ***

What were those charges?

Did he threaten someone with the “antique gun”?

In this age of PC, did the school drive him out because he dared to exercise his RKBA?

The story doesn’t give those essential details. And, Google doesn’t show any better source.

MONEY: RIC EDELMAN made a shocking (to me) point about identity theft targeting children

Monday, November 23, 2015

This is a about a 4 minute audio clip. The steps to detect it and correct it are rather easy. But do parents do them on an annual basis? Obviously not, if that 1/10 stat is reliable.

Here’s the link:

http://www.edelmanfinancial.com/radio/november-14-2015/identity-thieves-newest-target-how-to-protect-your-kids

Identity Thieves’ Newest Target: How to Protect Your Kids

*** begin quote ***

A recent study from Carnegie Mellon found that one in 10 kids under the age of 10 has had their Social Security number compromised.

Have you checked the financial records of your young children or grandchildren? Most people don’t even consider checking their kid’s financial records because … they’re kids. But that’s exactly why thieves target them.

They know children won’t use their Social Security number for years – usually until they’re old enough to go to college or get a credit card. By then the thief has successfully opened accounts, borrowed money and made purchases without anyone noticing.

“It’s a complicated world these days, and we need to be ever vigilant and diligent to protect ourselves,” Ric Edelman said.

Listen to the full clip above to learn the steps you can take to protect your child’s identity.

*** end quote ***

I know what I’d do every year on their birthday? Check. But then I don’t have any so it’s easy for me to say.

YMMV
