RANT: Hospitals are NOT for the sick

Sunday, November 18, 2007

My aunt had to go to the ER. Since her symptoms reported by the nursing home were not believed, (surprising since they have a doc and nurses), they were just watching. I got to watch the workings of a part of the ER and found it to be organized chaos. Luckily, she threw up for them and then they were convinced! Good thing. So, they had no idea what was causing it, and they were going to keep her. At that point she had been in the ER from 11PM to 5AM, the doc said she was “fast pathed” to a room and that it would take a few hours. So we went home to get some sleep and returned about 10AM. Surprise, she was still in the ER. Argh! She got to the room about 5PM. Wall clock time in the ER was 17 hours. How is that efficient? It certainly was exhausting.

You don’t? TOO BAD!

This morning 16 November at 0700 est on 295 South Exit 59 … …

… a white suv td 11 161 … …

… at a between zero and leisurely 70 (Your serf speed limit is 65)

… in lots of traffic

… tailgating the poor peon in his way

… never left the left lane (Do you teach them to do that, or is that a qualification for working for the state of nujerzee!?)

Any way I am sure that he was hurrying to get away from I assume trenton to protect and serve me and not escape the scene of the crime.

Arghhh!

RANT: Hey Governor Corzine … still wanna hear about state cars? … (continued) …

Thursday, November 15, 2007

You don’t? TOO BAD!

This morning 15 November 07 ~0700 est on Route 1 thru Pton and again on Route 295 South… …

… a white East Brunswick police suv MG 69758 … …

… went down route 1 cutting in and out at a between zero and leisurely 70 …

… in lots of traffic …

… tailgating, cutting off, and generally harassing the poor peons in his way!!!.

Never turned on the bubble gum lights.

Arghhh!

It was particularly amusing since the same car speed past me again (It was deja vu all over again); left lane of course; on Rt295 south around exit 65;

(I attribute that to his insistence of sticking in the left lane. All the real drivers know that the right lane thru Pton moves faster than the left. It’s all those gooferment workers bound for Trenton in their Intelligent Designer given left lane.)

[For those not familiar with the NJ roads. State “workers” proceed straight down route 1 to the golden dome of corruption. If you come later in the morning, then it’s not unusual to see “lots” of state cards commuting to the state jobs by the state ’employees”. It particularly ticks me off to know that I am paying for the road, the traffic jam, and the bad driving of my “servants”. Arghhh! That’s one reason I like to commute early; I can’t afford to have a stroke because I couldn’t afford the death taxes.]

Arghhhhhhh!

Perhaps, if your State Police are not too busy collecting extra “road taxes” for ordinary citizens, they might pay a call on this East Brunswick cop and give him a geography lesson. “East Brunswick here”!

After all speeding thru other parts of the state, what does he think he is … … A State Policeman … A state Policitican … a Federal Overlord!

P.S.: Dear reader, I don’t write these every day. Just when I ARRIVE early for work, particularly agitated aggravated and have to wait for my employer workstation to get online.

Iraq may or may not have a bloody war after we leave. That’s up to the Iraqis. It’s no skin off our nose whether they reconcile or draw their knives. It’s their country. The Bush administration has not done one single thing right in the Middle East, and the situation in the whole area is worse and more dangerous because of these blunders.

American withdrawal would be a blessing to everyone concerned.

… but this AM, a bozo in a white pickup (NJ VDR84U) cut me off. Normally, I’d just say “a special prayer” him and remember the Pope’s admonition about Christian principle on the road. But, this guy almost put my new pickup into the divider. To get ahead of me at a red light! Argh. Sufice it to say, I watch him do it to other people. Didn’t make me feel any better. But, the humorous part, was for all his jilly jacking around, he was still easily visible when I turned off on 295. But he did upset me. Even more upsetting was the thought that he might be going to trenton and be a gooferment slug. Argh! The possibility that I’m paying for him (Yes it was a him!) to work in trenton for the state gooferment and have him treat his employers that way was just some salt. So if you see him, you have my blessing to say a special prayer for him as well and watch out for him to cut you off as well. Argh!

Not so the reference to Hillary Clinton and the tip. As soon as that story aired in the 5 o’clock hour Eastern Time, it was picked up by a number of political blogs. And the Clinton campaign immediately contacted news organizations to tell its side of the story. Clinton spokesman Phil Singer wrote to NPR in an e-mail: “The campaign spent $157 and left a $100 tip at the Maid-Rite Restaurant. Wish you had checked in with us beforehand.”

Esterday said “nobody got tipped that day,” and NPR should have checked with the Clinton campaign before the story aired to see if any tip was left and how it was done. We regret that this was not done. On Thursday, Esterday was sticking by her story.

RANT: Put the sheeple in their proper place in the pecking order!

Tuesday, November 6, 2007

This morning I went to vote. Hey, I’m insane. Keep doing the same thing year after year, expecting different results. Today it was raining. As I walked past all the parked cars, in the rain, thru the puddles, it struck me. These are the worker’s cars.

What monumental disrespect!

It’s a peek into their souls. They took the first space and they will be their for their full shift. And every voter will have to trudge by their car. If you were really interested in “serving” the people, wouldn’t you have parked you car a little further away and left the close to the door spaces for the myriad of voters who would come to “duck in and out”.

No, they are the sheeple who can be treated with such disrespect.

Sigh!

Is it uncharitable to wish that all their tires go flat?

Are the Poor Getting Poorer?
By Walter E. Williams
Wednesday, October 31, 2007

*** begin quote ***

Poverty in the United States, in an absolute sense, has virtually disappeared. Today, there’s nothing remotely resembling poverty of yesteryear. However, if poverty is defined in the relative sense, the lowest fifth of income-earners, “poverty” will always be with us. No matter how poverty is defined, if I were an unborn spirit, condemned to a life of poverty, but God allowed me to choose which nation I wanted to be poor in, I’d choose the United States. Our poor must be the envy of the world’s poor.

*** end quote ***

We have to recapture our language. The politicians manipulate us with words like “the poor”, “poverty”, and “lower class”.

Like that Nigerian fellow, who when interviewed on why he wanted to come to America, answered incredulously “your poor people are fat”.

Sign that guy up to be a politician. He has diagnosed us and given a thumbnail description.

So the next time you hear a politician whining about money for the poor, look for his “cut”.

Assembly hopeful petitions for rescue funds
Upset he couldn’t participate in TV debate
Wednesday, October 31, 2007
BY DARRYL R. ISHERWOOD

*** begin quote ***

Libertarian 14th District Assembly candidate Jason Scheurer has filed a request for rescue funds as part of the Fair and Clean Elections program for what he says was a snub by a local television station.

Scheurer said he was not allowed to participate in a debate on News 12 New Jersey last week, while the four major party candi dates in the race were part of the event. Scheurer said he was told there was no room for him in the debate, though he is the first third party candidate to be certified under the Fair and Clean Elections program, which gives candidates public money in exchange for their pledge to forego traditional campaign donations.

***and***

Scheurer has already railed against the clean elections program after he received far less money than his major party opponents. While Republicans and Democrats in the district who qualified received in excess of $520,000, Scheurer has received less than $30,000.

Silly Libertarian candidate, you didn’t think that “fair and clean” meant anything other than handouts to the duopoly of RepublicratDemican candidates.

It’s a sham. It’s all an illusion to pull the sheeple’s own wool over their eyes.

DISPATCHES: New Jersey’s fiscal mess

*** begin quote ***

New Jersey’s fiscal situation does not appear to be getting any better.

*** end quote ***

It’s not MY problem that the politicians have led the sheeple down a rathole. So why do I have to pay for any of it.

Doesn’t anyone find it humorous or ironic that politicians and bureaucrats have pensions and “free” healthcare benefits when the taxpayers have neither?

Sorry, but I don’t “feel their pain”.

I’d feel bad, but I’d abrogate that social contract! Let them sue. The State’s broke. Can’t get blood out of a stone.

And speaking about Rutgers and all the other gooferment propaganda camps, why is the gooferment in the education business?

Since property taxes are for the most part to support the skoolz, why not just say “sorry skoolz closed”. I did have those children, so why do I have to pay to eddycate them? I don’t buy their clothes, their toys, or their ps2s, so why do I have to pay for their skooling? (And, I get socked more than once for each house I buy!)

NO there’s a gang of thieves that call themselves gooferment and they have been getting away with stuff for too long.

End it now!

Burned By Government
Have you ever noticed…?
Wed, 10/17/2007 – 20:42

*** begin quote ***

So, after spending all this money, so that you can go to work to make the money to buy and maintain the vehicle (and pay those other incidentals like rent and food), what do you have to do? Why,you’ve got to PAY THE GOVERNMENT! You’ve got to get all your “papers in order”just like all the good little citizens in all the movies about Nazi Germany, and the old Soviet Union, and Orwell’s 1984.

And this costs money, and more than that, it costs TIME. And, damned inconveniently, that’s not just time, but due to the scheduling of all the various government offices you have to go to to get these papers in order, they are usually only open during the time you are scheduled to be at work–so you’ve got to take off from work, which costs you more money. Add to this that the various offices usually give you the run-around, making you “hurry up and wait” and then sending you to a different office to get some other paper that you must have FIRST, but which, upon arriving, you find you cannot get without first completing a different form at yet another government office…and so on. It cost you even more time and money.

*** end quote ***

It’s the tax that keeps on taking — time, money, and attention.

RANT: Making fun of the TSA; it’s too easy

Tuesday, October 16, 2007

http://www.lewrockwell.com/akers/akers73.html

*** begin quote ***

It gets better. Despite its “respect” for the now-departed departed, the TSA decided to hunt his ashes down for further searching, as if screeners hadn’t already pestered him and his son with swabs and X-rays and other voo-doo. He should have been easy to spot, according to the Star: his son, who “wore a red shirt and pink hat” was “carr[ying] the ashes in a box inside a garbage bag.” Still, “airport officials could not find” this distinctive duo.

Ah, the efficiency of the police state. And the sour grapes, too: since they couldn’t locate these terrorists who’d taken such crafty care to camouflage themselves and draw no attention, they punished passengers by closing the terminal. “About 500 people were evacuated from Concourses B and C for more than an hour, and eight flights were delayed.” Naturally, the TSA searched these victims all over again before sending them on their way. Dead men not only hijack planes, they also pass liquids and gels to the living.

*** end quote ***

You can’t make this stuff up. And, you’re expecting these 8$/hour bozos to protect you from a terrorist? “barbara streisand”

No. If it wasn’t so serious, it would be laughable.

BUT, we are paying a huge price in time, money, and attention for this “security theater”.

Disband the TSA now. Return responsibility for security to the airlines. Sell off any airport and the ATC to the industry. Get the gooferment out of the airline biz!

Sigh!

RANT: “Michael Clayton” is a muddle imho

Sunday, October 14, 2007

http://www.miamiherald.com/tropical_life/story/259803.html

Re: George Clooney’s adult legal drama Michael Clayton.

*** begin quote ***

Clooney plays the titular character, a ”fixer” for a big-league corporate law firm who is called in to clean up messes that can’t be resolved satisfactorily inside a courtroom. After one of the firm’s star attorneys, Arthur Edens (Tom Wilkinson), melts down during a deposition — he strips naked and runs after the plaintiff — Clayton is assigned to nurse Arthur back to fighting shape before the case goes to trial.

*** end quote ***

NOT RECOMMENDED!

While watching this I wondered in ADM was going to sue for defamation.

It had imho all the leftist clichés — evil lawyers, evil corporation, evil assassins, the good family farmers, the Irish cop, the Mafia loan shark, … … just to name a few off the top of my head.

Think Brocobitch without the boobs. Well come to think of it there were a lot of boobs in the audience like me who paid two sawbucks to see this muddle.

The fellow who melted down in the movie wasn’t the only one having psychotic breaks. Start at the middle, jump forward, jump back, turn around, jump to a conclusion, and destroy the evil doers.

Think Travolta in Civil Action. Think cookie cutter.

It wasn’t unpleasant to watch — but I didn’t get the connection to the kid’s book.

I don’t understand why he would stop and get out of the car. And, most horses I have known wouldn’t stand dead still side-by-side as something dressed in black approached them.

I don’t understand assassins, who were first portrayed as meticulous in the first murder, just be content to remotely detonate and call it a day. And, why switch modes of killing? I’m sure it’s an area of specialization. Plus don’t tasars leave marks. That’s what the other crime shows claim. (I get all my science from Law’n’Order.)

So it left a lot to be answered and hence a lot to be desired.

Verdict: Wasted $.

p.s., and the ice cream hadn’t been stored right and the bottom was melted. Sigh! Ahh for the movies of the Fifties, where the heroes wore white hats and the popcorn was fresh with real butter.

RANT: End the Income Tax in Taxachusetts

Saturday, October 13, 2007

http://www.smallgovernmentact.org

*** begin quote ***

How You Benefit From Getting Involved

You may not live in Massachusetts. Many of our best supporters don’t.

If you live outside Massachusetts, you won’t get the direct benefit of not having to pay the state income tax.

Why should you get involved? Why should you donate money so that Massachusetts workers can end their Income Tax?

So you can make history. So you can be a vital part of “the Tax Revolution Heard ‘Round the World.”

It’s more than bragging rights. More than pride. It’s your chance to be part of the new American Revolution For Small Government.

There’s more.

California’s Proposition 13 inspired copycat Tax Limitation Ballot Initiatives in over a dozen states. From 1978 through the mid-1980’s, tax limitation fever swept the United States.

Term Limits Ballot Initiatives caught fire in the mid-1980’s. They burned bright for a half—dozen years.

Medical Marijuana Ballot Initiatives exploded into public attention in the mid-1990’s. Only the active resistance of the DEA and the Federal Government has kept a lid on them.

Ballot Initiatives against Eminent Domain swept America in 2006. More are on the way.

Imagine that our Massachusetts Ballot Initiative to End the Income Tax wins in 2008. Partly because you helped make it possible. Imagine inspiring and instigating copycat Ballot Initiatives to Repeal the Income Tax in 4 or 8 or 12 more states in 2010 and 2012.

You can help set this in motion.

*** end quote ***

Crazy Carla is on her high horse again tilting at the Income Tax windmill. If she could nuke it in Taxachusetts, then it could be the end of the income tax in America. What a strike at the root.

I sent a contribution; you should too if you hate the income tax as much as I do.

1st Lt. Jon Anderson said he never expected to come home to this: A government refusing to pay education benefits he says he should have earned under the GI bill.

We are like all empires in their final stages. We have grown soft. We like our comforts. We don’t wish to be inconvenienced. We like poor Mexicans to do our stoop work and poor Americans to do our fighting, provided they do it far away so we won’t be disturbed by explosions and screams. We enjoy our decadence, and there are always people in the media who can rationalize anything, no matter how sick and revolting it is.

As for trying to understand the world, we are just too busy being amused and following the adventures of Britney Spears and other celebrities. We like to let the TV and the politicians do our thinking for us. It saves energy. They tell us whom to hate.

The only way to avoid a bad end is to find some realists and put them in public office. We need a brave Congress, not a pack of cowards. We desperately need a president with a brain. We need to retire the warmongers in the foreign-policy establishment. Otherwise, we will join the other third-rate countries, once empires, on history’s discard pile.

DINNER WITH HILLARY: TALKING POINTS FOR THE NEXT ROUND
Dick Morris Reports
By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN
Published on TheHill.com on September 26, 2007.

*** begin quote ***

Even for her, Hillary Clinton showed tremendous skill at batting aside questions asked of her on the Sunday shows this past weekend and giving, instead, her standard talking points. Pinning this lady down is admitted ly not easy. Two of the best interviewers on political TV — Chris Wallace and Tim Russert — asked tough questions but got scripted and memorized retorts for their pains. But here are some questions (along with follow-ups) that I suggest they ask during the next round of Sunday shows — if she ever goes back on the circuit.

{Extraneous Deleted}

• You base your healthcare proposal on the need to cover 47 million “uninsured Americans.” Since about a third of them are illegal immigrants and another third are eligible for Medicaid right now and just don’t apply for it, aren’t you overstating the problem?

(As a follow-up to No. 4) In 2005 you co-sponsored legislation to provide health insurance to the children of illegal immigrants who have lived in this country for five years. In other words, their children would get subsidized healthcare under the State Children’s Health Insurance Program as a reward for dodging the cops for five years. Do you still support that proposal?

• You say that your healthcare proposal will leave alone those who are happy with their current insurance. But if you provide health benefits for close to 50 million new people, thereby generating huge new demand for medical care without any increase in the supply of doctors, nurses or hospitals, it will drive up prices radically. Won’t that force you to institute cost controls by limiting the care those now on health insurance can receive?

{Extraneous Deleted}

*** end quote ***

Hillary’s Health Care for illegal aliens. Rationing. And gooferment healthcare? You have to be kidding.
