In March 2010, Lauren Morosoff packed her stuff into her 2008 Scion TC and moved from Kendall Park to Colorado for a job opportunity.

Unsure of how long she’d stay in Colorado, the 27-year-old kept her New Jersey driver’s license and license plates.

But a few days later, the Morosoffs had a change of heart — not because they felt they were wrong — but because of pure economics.

The cost to file an appeal is $75, plus transcription fees, and they’d have added costs to send the documents “certified mail.”

“It seems like Lauren might have to appear in court and with the cost of airfare over $400 and the time she’d have to miss from work, it’s not financially feasible,” Morosoff said. “I suppose she could hire a lawyer to represent her, but I can’t imagine what his fees would be.”

Simply paying the fines would be far less costly, unless an attorney would take her case pro bono.

“This really eliminates any faith I had in our judicial system,” Terri Morosoff said.

“We cannot even trust our own state to do the right thing. I feel very sorry for all New Jersey and non-New Jersey drivers out there,” she said.

“Who knows how many others have received bogus tickets and were forced to pay them?”

Dear Mr. President:

He’s been in Afghanistan for two weeks, but I feel as though I’ve aged 10 years. This is my only son’s sixth deployment in harm’s way.

I was supposed to get together with friends Saturday night. But when I read that two more NATO troops were killed in Helmund Province in a green on blue attack, I cancelled my plans. Then I found out they were Brits. This morning I heard that four American troops were killed by Afghans in uniform. Another mother’s son is dead. Not mine.

I don’t understand why our troops are there. First we were told it was to destroy al Qaeda. But Bin Laden is dead and al Qaeda has not been in Afghanistan in large numbers in many years. They are now scattered around the world in many countries.

My son is an ANA trainer in one of the most volatile regions of Afghanistan. He has left his pregnant wife and two young sons to go half way around the world to a country where many of the people he is trying to help want to kill him. Our President cannot give me a valid reason why he is there. It’s time to bring all of our troops home and take care of them.

A federal consumer regulator is expected to propose Friday the first set of national standards for the mortgage-servicing industry, which has been riddled with problems in the wake of the housing bust.

Under the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s proposal, loan servicers would be required to evaluate homeowners’ applications for loan-assistance within 30 days of receiving an application and would be barred from going ahead with a foreclosure until a final decision has been reached on a borrower’s application for help.

Talk about locking the barn after the whole herd has left the building!

I can’t wait to see the details of this.

Does it “charge back” the originator with the costs. IBM used to have a commission back out program when a Customer was “lost”. Needless to say, they lost very few Customers and, when they did, a sales team exited with the Customer.

Does it set standards for downpayments, ARMs, negative amortization, and balloons? In the “old days”, home mortgages were 50% down and 5 years max. Needless to say there were few if any defaults. Compare that to the NIJA no down no income no job applications of the subprome mess. Clearly these protections should apply to the Donald Trumps. He can stand the loss, but the “little people” need to be taught the lesson.

As a little L libertarian, if I have to have Gooferment, let’s at least try to pretend it can do something.

After Congress put the legislation on hold, Dodd warned that “those who count on ‘Hollywood’ for support need to understand that this industry is watching very carefully who’s going to stand up for them when their job is at stake.” That led some critics to charge that the MPAA was bullying legislators and prompted an online petition asking the White House to “investigate this blatant bribery.” The Obama administration declined to comment on the petition.

WMAL in DC is going nuts with drones and drone sightings.

They have DOD documents that say that USAF is authorized to use them in a myriad of cases. 

So has the Big Brother “Surveillance State” become a fait acompli?

Similar to one’s electronic privacy that disappeared with the introduction of the Social Security Number.

You remember that gag “Not For Identification Purposes”?

I just had to give it to the gas, electric, and cable companies to start service at my new “crash pad”.

Argh!

“We, The Sheeple” wake up. 

The “third revolutionary war” is over. YOU lost.

You may know return to the modern day bread and circuses where everyone depends on a Gooferment check (and YES, that INCLUDES Social Security!) and everyone watches “reality TV” for their “life”.

Argh! Squared.

By way of a small revolt, I only have one TV in my new condo. And, that’s just a concession to guests.

It seems like every time I fart, some one in the Gooferment is noting it.

For example, my wife wasn’t even dead one day and the Social Security Admin had automagically reached into her bank account and pulled back their last social security check. (Not even pro-rated for the 26/28 days of the month that she lived.) The speed amazed everyone in the family.

So why can’t the voting rolls be purged just as quickly?

The corrupt power structure likes the mess just fine.

It’s for the same reason you have to show id to get on an airline, but not to vote.

Mad yet?

If not, joint he Tea Party. If not, go back to sleep because you’re “We, The Sheeple” and part of the problem.

See the problem is not the politicians and bureaucrats robbing us blind. We know them. We can see them! Like Madame DeFarge, we’ve marked them. 

It’s “We, The Sheeple”. They are the problem. Sleepwalking through life. Oblivious to their patriotic duty to the Republic.

Like that supposed quote … “a Republic, if you can keep it.”

This past Saturday night 21 April, a friend of mine, Ginny Cambron, was at a night club with a friend of hers. As they were leaving, another woman bumped into Ginny and began to get an attitude with her. Ginny’s friend stepped in between the two women to prevent anything from starting. As he did so, the other woman threw her drink in his face. Ginny and her friend immediately turned and left the bar to avoid any conflict. Her friend pushed the door open forcefully, which broke a plate of glass.

How many of these will “We, The Sheeple” accept? 

Sorry, my “emotional tank” overflowed a long time ago.

DO I believe that every “actor” in these stories? NO!

IS every “actor” the representation of “true goodness” or “true evil”? NO!

IS this blog an evidentiary hearing to uncover the truth as best humans can? No!

This is a social commentary that WHEN the expect levels of a process are targeted at ZERO and the observed results if FAR GREATER than that zero, then this fat old white guy injineer says that the process is “Operating Outside of Acceptable Boundaries” and becomes a “MATTER REQUIRING ATTENTION”.

OK, Sheeple, what are YOU going to do about it? You’re on notice!

Remember the German Jews, Gypsies, Homosexuals, other “Undesirables”, and any “good people” who objected being loaded on the trains for their death camp.

For those Sheeple that object “Can’t Happen HERE!”. Have you “forgotten” the “Reservations” for the American Indians and the Japanese American Internment. Hell they have you lining up and taking off your shoes at airports. What’s next? Strip searching women. Like the XRAY machines?

Case in point: Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis and her unbridled effort to obliterate family farms.

Last August, the Department of Labor looked around, scratched its head, and decided the new thing it should focus on was applying child labor laws to agricultural settings. Offhand, you’re thinking, “Well, shouldn’t they be applied?” Well, sure. In a corporate feed lot. What we’re talking about here is the use of children on farms that those children’s families own. Put into practice, these laws will, in the words of a Department of Labor press release, prohibit children under the age of 18 from “being employed in the storing, marketing, and transporting of farm product raw materials.”

Furthermore, the laws would designate a number of farm-related places as completely off limits to children. Dangerous places like country grain elevators. And silos. And… livestock auctions?

Our country isn’t as loaded with family farms as it used to be hundreds of years ago, but such farms do, indeed, still exist, and these child labor laws would do nothing short of hurt them.

According to Secretary of Labor Solis, the reason for this move is simple. “Children employed in agriculture are some of the most vulnerable workers in America,” she says. “Ensuring their welfare is a priority of the department.” It doesn’t take a genius to know that any time the government cites the children as a reason for an action, all of us should be extraordinarily nervous.

So let’s look at what these laws would accomplish, before we determine why.

Obviously, just another payoff to “Big Something”. 

By “Big Something”, just consult the Sheeple’s dictionary: 

“Big Pharma”, who controls the FDA. “Big Labor”, who got the lion’s share of the GM takeover. “Big Banks” who got the bailout to loot the Treasury.

So in this example, the Big Corporate Farmers are getting a subsidy  from the taxpayer directly and indirectly. Wonder who pays for the lobbying. And, campaign contributions. Think back as to “cui bono” (i.e., who benefits) from the genius idea to put food plants into our gas tanks when a large chuck of the world’s population is starving? If you think the Consumer or the Taxpayer, then I have a bridge to sell you!

Argh!

While some observers support this move as a way to free up funds for more urgent reproductive-health concerns, supporters of embryo adoption say this is the wrong time to abandon embryos that are sometimes called “snowflake babies.”

“I think that daily we talk to people about … embryo donation and adoption, and we hear the response, ‘Really? I didn’t know that was even possible,’” said Ron Stoddart, executive director of Nightlight Christian Adoptions, which in 1997 pioneered the process of infertile couples “adopting” the extra embryos that another couple’s in-vitro fertilization process inevitably produces.

Hannah Strege, the first of these frozen, unique “snowflake” babies, was born in December 1998. Researchers think as many as 50,000 of the 600,000 cryogenically preserved embryos in the U.S. eventually could become available for adoption.

Being childless is heartbreaking.

Murdering helpless children is horrific.

The problem was setup when the decision was made to START down this path. That sets you up to have the problem of FINISHING off the journey.

We certainly can’t afford the Gooferment; so cuts are essential.

It is just pathetic that we wind up at this stupidity. Isn’t that saying “leaders lack vision and the people perish”?

I’ll drag out my favorite personal realization from the Original Adventure by Wally Crowthier. “If you kill the bird, you can’t get past the sake.” That translates to: “What if the potential person that’s killed is the next Salk who will cure cancer, the next Hawkings who will explain the Universe, or the next Mother Teresa who will comfort untold number of sufferers?”

Imagine 50,000 Jonas Salk’s or 600,000 Mother Teresa’s?

It makes me sad. I know Frau Reinke would have taken as many as she could. Sad.
