Officer Zach Robinson was nearby when the attack occurred and killed Barakat during the confrontation.

It has since been revealed Barakat is originally from Syria was allowed into the United States via asylum in 2012. He later became a full citizen in 2019, according to Inforum. While he does not have much of criminal history, only a speeding ticket was found, North Dakota Attorney General Drew Wrigley revealed there was a Guardian report on him.

“Information that we have from our federal partners says he was not on the terrorist watch list, but there was this Guardian report,” Wrigley said. “I’m not going to say much about it except it is not, we are told, about a threat of violence or an act of this nature or anything along these lines.”

Organ Transplant Overhaul

The US Health department announced plans yesterday to modernize the country’s four-decade-old congressionally enacted Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network. The system is solely responsible for tens of thousands of life-saving organ transplants in the US every year, where over 100,000 people are currently on its waitlist. 

The private nonprofit United Network of Organ Services has managed the network since 1986. UNOS has come under fire for its elevated kidney discard rate of roughly 20%, while a 2021 audit by the US Digital Service called for a broad restructuring of the network’s information technology stack, reporting it had crashed for 17 days since 1999. Due to UNOS’ effective monopoly over US organ services, critics argue there’s insufficient accountability for poor performance.

The multiyear modernization effort aims to update technology, increase competition by soliciting bids, double federal funding, and update the nearly 40-year-old law, specifically to abolish appropriations caps. A new data dashboard shows recent trends in procurement here.

Here’s a novel idea: get the Gooferment out of the organ transplant business.  Entirely.

For example, do you think that hospitals that do transplants would not figure out a better system.  And, BTW, why can’t we pay organ donors for their donation or their heirs?  Seems silly to bury good spare parts because we can NOT figure out how to do it ethically and efficiently.

Of course, if you’re rich or well connected, then there’s no problem getting what you need.

The most toxic form of dioxin is 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin or TCDD. TCDD is more commonly recognized as the toxic contaminant found in Agent Orange and at Love Canal, New York and Times Beach, Missouri, both sites of two of the most tragic environmental catastrophes in US history.

This is important because of the adverse health effects associated with exposure to dioxins. Exposure to dioxins can cause cancer, reproductive damage, developmental problems, type 2 diabetes, ischemic heart disease, infertility in adults, impairment of the immune system and skin lesions.

The EPA is very familiar with dioxins. For more than 25 years, the agency evaluated and assessed the risks posed by exposure to dioxins. They published multiple draft reports on the health effects caused by exposure to dioxins. They published an inventory of dioxin sources and devoted an enormous amount of time to studying dioxins. The agency knows this chemical very well.

So why is EPA unwilling to test for dioxins in the soil? My guess is because they know they will find it. And if they find it, they’ll have to address the many questions people are asking. It will not be easy to interpret the results of the testing for dioxins in soil, but to avoid testing is irresponsible. The EPA’s mission is to protect human health and the environment. Clearly the situation in East Palestine is the place where EPA should follow its mission and do right by the people who live in this town. EPA must test the soil in East Palestine for dioxins.

Time for the politicians and bureaucrats to get serious about protecting the public. (Like that ever mattered to them.). If they don’t, time to force them out and make them get jobs IRL!

The events leading up to the Russian incursion are ALL poking the bear.

Perhaps one reason, that the USA urge Ukraine to fight, was to keep the financial Biden records and the various USA funded bio labs concealed.

Blowing up the Nord Stream pipeline was designed to keep Germany in line with the war policy and keep Russia from the gas revenue.

Risking WW3 may make sense to the politicians and bureaucrats, but not to me.

Leftist loons make us all unsafe!  As a gun owning pro-life pro-choice little L libertarian, I don’t believe in the Gooferment being allowed to kill people.  Not because the criminal doesn’t deserve it, but because once the Gooferment has ANY power they misuse it.  That being said, “restorative justice” is just insane.

I like the concept of Devil’s Island.  Put the criminals somewhere they can’t repeat.  Unless they’re too dangerous to the Corrections Officers, they should spend an appropriate amount of time incarcerated.

We, the people of the USA, are in a crime wave where there is no punishment to deter criminals from committing crimes.  Repeatedly, criminals taunt the police with “we’ll be back of the street before you get the paperwork done”. I’ve seem where repeat offenders have 50= arrests and out ROR for them to continue terrorizing society,

I wan criminals in jail so they are no longer a threat.  I like violent felons serving long terms.  That’s “restorative” to a peaceful civil society.

If you don’t control crime, then you have to allow people to defend themselves

In this specific case, EVERYONE at CDC and FDA in any salaried position should be FIRED immediately.  The two agencies should be completely eliminated.

Big Pharma has the politicians and bureaucrats in its pockets,  They should be prohibited from any political contributions or advertising for say 50 years.

As a pro-life pro-choice little L libertarian, I don’t want the Gooferment killing people as a general rule.  In a declared war, maybe.  In an “active shooter” situation, definitely to stop killing innocents.  In the case of murderers who are too dangerous to incarcerate (e.g., a murder kills a prison guard) maybe.

Congress has the Constitutional power of Marque and Reprisal.  That’s different than the Gooferment killing someone directly.

Certainly the President should NOT be allowed to kill American citizens in a foreign country! 

Look at all the Project Innocence cases.  You can’t reverse a death penalty.

And that doesn’t consider the time and cost of a “death penalty” case.

So let’s make a life sentence for murder a real life sentence.  No parole; no compassionate release.
