Based on the principle of compound growth, the T.R.U.S.T. Fund for America calls for the government to set aside a one-time amount of $7,000 for each child born in the United States, and to repeat this annually for the next 35 years. The money would be placed in an investment portfolio determined by an expert panel appointed by the president and Congress. After 35 years, the government would receive back its initial outlay, plus inflation, and use the proceeds to fund the program for children born during the next 35-year cycle.

Industry Groups Want to Control Access to Legal Rules and Regulations San Francisco – A federal appeals court today ruled that industry groups cannot control publication of binding laws and standards. This decision protects the work of Public.Resource.org (PRO), a nonprofit organization that works to improve access to government documents.

NJ Veteran Claims Police Tried To Take His Guns Without Due Process

New Jersey now has a law on the books that allows the government to confiscate guns from anyone considered a threat without anything approaching due process. There’s a slightly more complicated process, but in its essence, that’s pretty much exactly what is at play.

What is it about family that makes it so you can be absolutely convinced that despite them engaging in a criminal act, they’re still somehow angels? I ask because it seems that no matter what the circumstances, when someone gets shot, the family will invariably step up and pontificate on just why that person shouldn’t have been killed.

242 years ago American colonists declared independence from England, in the name of personal liberty. What would it take for Americans to once again declare independence from an oppressive government? For the colonists, it was excessive taxation without representation.

Having some familiarity personally with “the system”, judges need to be held to the highest standards of fairness and impartiality.  It’s a hard thing to separate a child from the parents.  BUT sometimes it is for safety and in the child’s best interest.  We ALL are responsible for the choices we make.  Parents, especially those who are drug addicts, need to be made aware that society will not allow children to be harmed.

Now I have a tough time squaring that with “abortion rights”, but that’s a discussion for another day.
