Fiorina: No Need for Written Tax Plan
By Greg Richter
Sunday, 08 Nov 2015 12:04 PM

*** begin quote ***

Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina said in an interview televised Sunday that she doesn’t need to give a written detail of her tax plan since such plans are never implemented exactly as written anyway.

“Politicians put out detailed plans for all kinds of things; it never happens,” Fiorina said on “Meet the Press.”

Instead, she said, people should got to her website where she answers questions from all comers about her plans as president.

So why doesn’t she put her three pages on the website?

I bet at HP she certainly had written plans. How else do you communicate what you will at least attempt to do?

She lost ground in my “measuring”!

VETERANS: Don’t “thank me for my service”; do bring the troops home

Wednesday, November 11, 2015

2015-Nov-11

As a stateside vet from 1970-1973 during the Viet Nam ‘war”, I am keenly aware of all the KIAs, MIAs, the maimed, and those forever changed vets. I think that the way society treats them — dusts them off for Veterans Day and then puts their problems out of sight and mind back in the closet until next year — is hypocritical.

When the “Wounded Warriors” charity has to advertise to help them, that’s a symptom of the problem. When we let politicians and bureaucrats — of both parties — send the future vets to war without a vote, that’s a symptom of the problem. When the politicians are too busy to ‘welcome’ every returning vet and ‘bury’ every body coming home, that’s a symptom of the problem.

So please don’t “thank me for my service”, in the grand scheme of things, my sacrifice was so modest compared to the others, it’s not worth mentioning. Instead use that effort to solve some of the problems. Most notably, demand that the politicians and bureaucrats bring the girls and boys home immediately like Ron Paul suggested in the last two Presidential campaigns.

On Wall Street, there’s an old maxim that so true and applies here. “When in a hole, stop digging!” You want to honor all the Vets, stop making new ones. We should not be sending girls and boys to fight unless the Congress votes an old fashioned declaration of war because our liberty is the threatened and we have no choice.

Release the Records: Ben Carson vs. Barack Obama, College Edition
Nov. 9, 2015 7:34am
Wayne Root

*** begin quote ***

The mainstream media just opened the door for conservatives to demand President Barack Obama release his Columbia University records immediately. How nice of them! Thank you!

The media decided to investigate Dr. Ben Carson’s claims about getting a scholarship offer from West Point. They say Dr. Carson made a “false claim.”

Did he?

I don’t know. It’s muddled and debatable, although clear that one of the world’s most prominent brain surgeons certainly doesn’t need to exaggerate any claims about his education. Dr. Carson claimed he was “offered” a scholarship by a well-known Army general if he applied to West Point. He wanted to be a doctor and chose not to. Was it an actual scholarship offer, or just a casual conversation? Politicians exaggerate or remember things to their benefit all the time. But his claim, however interpreted, didn’t cost taxpayers a dime.

The same can’t be said of Obama’s whoppers. Obama’s lies about Obamacare alone have cost American taxpayers millions, even billions in higher premiums and medical costs. Like millions of others, I lost my insurance based on Obama’s lies, and now I’m paying far more and getting far less. Obama promised the world and delivered disaster.

Now THAT’S a significant lie.

Jonathan Gruber, the architect of Obamacare, even admitted fraud was committed to fool the “dumb voters.”

But, let’s compare apples to apples. The media is going after Dr. Carson for supposedly making false claims about his college record. So isn’t this the perfect time to demand fair, unbiased and equal treatment of Obama’s college record? As any good trial lawyer would say, “The media opened the door to this one.” If you can investigate Dr. Carson, then you must investigate Obama’s claims about college as well.

Apples to apples. The media is trying to disqualify Dr. Carson’s right to the presidency based on his college records. Why did they never check Obama’s college records? Why are Obama’s Columbia records STILL sealed seven years into his presidency?

The media anxiously called West Point demanding to verify Dr. Carson’s claims, but never called Columbia to verify Obama’s claims. Why? If claims about college from 30 or 40 years ago are important for Dr. Carson, why not Obama?

Did Obama make false claims about his college experience? No one can prove it (yet) because his college records are sealed. Why? What is he hiding? If it matters for Carson, it should even more for a man already sitting in the White House with his fingers on the economy and the nuclear button.

It’s time to DEMAND that Obama release his Columbia college records.

*** end quote ***

I am shocked that this has never been exposed before.

We know why.

BHO44 is crazy radical leftist democrat. So no vetting was required.

See my rants on war, and you’ll know why I want the “Nobel Peace Prize winner” to be vetted BEFORE he gets girls and boys maimed and killed.

GOLDBUG: China acts like gold is NOT a “barbarous relic”

China Probably Raised Gold Hoard Again by Adding 14 Tons
Saturday, 07 Nov 2015 12:52 PM

 *** begin quote ***

China probably boosted central-bank gold holdings yet again in October, raising them by about 14 metric tons, as it seeks to diversify its foreign exchange reserves.

The value of gold assets was $63.26 billion at the end of last month from $61.19 billion at end-September, according to data on the People’s Bank of China website released Saturday. That works out to 55.38 million troy ounces or about 1,722.5 tons, based on the London Bullion Market Association afternoon price auction on Oct. 30, Bloomberg calculations show. The stash was 54.93 million ounces a month earlier.

China ended six years of mystery in July over how much gold it’s hoarding as it seeks to spur greater global use of its currency and pushes for the yuan to be included in the International Monetary Fund’s Special Drawing Rights basket.

Efforts to promote the yuan have boosted speculation the government is stockpiling gold as part of a plan to diversify its $3.53 trillion in foreign-exchange reserves.

*** end quote ***

Unless you think that the Chinese are “dumb” — according to the Keynesian economists — gold is more valuable than fiat currencies.

Silver and gold were money long ago — prior to the 1932 in the USA — thanks FDR — and probably will be again.

When the <synonym for excrement> hits the proverbial fan, how will you protect your wealth.

Real estate can be taxed to death. Savings are ravaged by inflation and zero interest rates. Technology is eliminating unskilled labor at $15 per hour. And outsourcing is killing white collar and high paying blue collar work. Also, just in case there’s anything left, HB1 visas are allowing foreigners to replace American workers.

Trump is tapping into the anger and frustration of “We, The Sheeple”.

And, the Chinese are “diversifying” out of US Treasury debt and into gold.

What should you do? I know what I’m doing.

Speaking about this Afgan thing, I made a comment the other day something to the effect that if you have to go to war … … … and I explained what an ugly business war is … … how violent it is, how innocent people wind up getting killed, we should never ever ever ever go to war unless our liberty is directly threatened, unless the risk to our way of life exists. And, I use that as the standard to go. The liberty within our shores. What I advocate on this show is a defensive posture. A defensive military. A miltary that defends our borders much the way that Japan had for many years after World War 2. … … But if you have to fight, if Liberty is directly threatened, well then there are no holds barred. If we are going to go out and we know where the enemy is, then we bomb the city and then we bomb it again and rearrange the pieces because we understand that we will lose the greatest gift that God has given us if we don’t stand up and fight.”

The national debt.

Why aren’t politicians talking about the whopping $18.1 trillion and rising that our government owes to foreign countries, private corporations and its retirement programs? Not only is the U.S. the largest debtor nation in the world, but according to Forbes, “the amount of interest on the national debt is estimated to be accumulating at a rate of over one million dollars per minute.” Shouldn’t the government being on the verge of bankruptcy be an issue worth talking about?

It’s worse than that.

The current 18T$+, on its way to 20T$, national debt in only the tip of the iceberg!

Let’s not forget the guesstimated 200T+ in unfunded liabilities that our posterity will have to deal with.

And, what about the States, County, and Municipalities?

Sounds like we need a “Truth in Accounting” law for ALL Goofermental units to follow.

I know in NJ the state pension fund is underfund.

There’s a reason that corporations have gone away from “defined benefit” plans. The Gooferment must do the same.

Did a U.S. Sentinel Drone Hit Doomed Russian Metrojet?
By Jack Perry
November 3, 2015

*** begin quote ***

They say this plane broke up in mid-air. Aviation experts say that planes could break up in midair usually because of one of three reasons: a catastrophic weather event, a midair collision, or an external threat, such as a bomb or a missile. But if it hit a drone, wouldn’t we find wreckage of the drone? Not necessarily, at least not immediately. It’ll be mingled with the wreckage of the aircraft. It probably would have gone INTO the aircraft, rather like a bullet into a window. If it ran into the cockpit as its point-of-entry, there would’ve been no radio distress calls or even any register of anything that may point to the crew having seen the drone.

But wouldn’t the drone have been picked up on radar? Not necessarily. The U.S. RQ-170 Sentinel drone is a stealth drone capable of evading radar. Therefore, it would also be manufactured from mostly composites, thus the wreckage of one will take a lot of time to discover if it collided with this airliner. We know these drones are in the Middle East because Iran captured one back in 2011. It has an operational ceiling of up to 50,000 feet. The plane impacted something at around 31,000 feet, well within the altitude range of a Sentinel drone. The latest is that the crew was incapacitated. Yes, and that’s why I think the airliner ran into the drone head-on. They also say the plane lost speed rapidly, again pointing to a head-on midair collision.

*** end quote ***

This will be “interesting” if true!

How will this be covered up?

I’m speechless.

SOFTWARE: iMessage on the MAC OS X doesn’t report completely

Wednesday, November 4, 2015

Found a confusing “use case” with iMessage on the MAC OS X:

Sent two texts this morning, one worked and one failed repeatedly.

Figured out why it was failing, duh.

I text from the mac because I like the full keyboard. I text X and Y every morning and night. (“I’m alive … still!”)

This morning X’s went through to her iPhone as usual, but Y’s didn’t.

Then I realized iMessage uses the iPhone to text Y with SMS. And my iPhone was out of power. And, the MAC version of iMessage just reports: “not sent”.

Which technically is true, but it should say something like “no response from your Iphone, dummy”. Argh!

Strike one for a poor design. Or is that “a feature”?

NY Mets manager takes blame for end of World Series title dream
AFP By Jim Slater

*** begin quote ***

New York (AFP) – New York Mets manager Terry Collins blamed himself for his team squandering a late lead for the second time in as many nights Sunday in losing the World Series to Kansas City.

Collins took the blame for leaving starting pitcher Matt Harvey on the mound into the ninth inning after he kept the Royals scoreless for eight innings and scattered only four hits as the Mets led 2-0.

*** end quote ***

First, congrats to KC they were clearly the better team.

That being said, the Mets coach, as the “leader” of the underdog team, has to figure out a way to “steal” it.

Better “leadership” might have enabled the Mets to do just that.

In Game 5, inept “leadership” by BOTH the “leaders” and the “followers”. Obviously, the pitcher didn’t trust the coach’s judgment on his capabilities at that moment.

Were the seeds of this sown in the loss the night before in game 4?

I saw some key turning points:

  •  Matt, making just his ninth career MLB start, was great over five innings, allowing just two runs on seven hits was allowed to bat in the seventh inning — the coach should have pinch hit for him and possible get something out of that inning like an insurance run. (I was shocked when he didn’t. Thought that was obvious from the pitch count and the situation.)
  • Mets reliever Tyler Clipart walked Ben Zobrist and Lorenzo Cain with one out in the top of the eighth — the coach should have pulled him after the first (I think) six pitch walk!
  • Daniel Murphy’s attempt to make a play on that slow rolling ground ball was all ego. Give the hitter his due, it was a “seeing eye single”. Make the routine stop and “eat the ball”. It’d have been men on first and second two out. Instead of the hero; he become the

Based on the first two coaching “mistakes”, I understand the lack of confidence.

What do you think Billy Martin, Joe Torre, John Wooden, Bobbie Knight would have said? Maybe “shit down and shut up” with some profanity. Laugh!

Bottom line: But the Mets’ coaching, team trust in the coach, and certain player’s play wasn’t up to “stealing” the Series.

I think this is an “teaching moment” for all “leaders” and “followers”. Part of being a great “leader” is the ability to put aside your own memes and paradigms and “play your position”. Sometimes you have to “follow”.

Argh!

Remember the adages: “Lessons will be repeated until the student learns” and “You don’t have to pay tuition at every school; you’re allowed to learn from the mistakes of others”.

U.S. to deploy special forces to Syria in about-turn for Obama
WASHINGTON | BY ARSHAD MOHAMMED, PHIL STEWART AND PATRICIA ZENGERLE

U.S. President Barack Obama plans to deploy dozens of special operations forces to northern Syria to advise opposition forces in their fight against Islamic State, a major shift and a step he has long resisted to avoid getting dragged into another war in the Middle East.

The number of special operations troops in Syria would be fewer than 50, said a senior administration official, speaking ahead of an announcement on Friday by the administration. One U.S. official said the number was likely to be in the range of 20 to 30 but could not provide details.

The decision by Obama, deeply averse to committing troops to unpopular wars in the Middle East, would mark the first sustained U.S. troop presence in Syria and raise the risk of American casualties, although U.S. officials stressed the forces were not meant to engage in front-line combat.

Why no House Committee hearing before President Obama launched his war on Libya? Why no vote on whether to authorize the use of force? Why no hearing after the President violated the Constitution by sending the military into Libya with UN authorization rather than Congressional authorization? There are Constitutional tools available to Congress when a president takes the country to war without a declaration or authorization. At the time, President Obama claimed he did not need authorization from Congress because the US was not engaged in “hostilities.” It didn’t pass the laugh test, but Congress did next to nothing about it.

Demand that society respect your inherent individual rights: Collectivism’s ultimate propaganda message is that there is no such thing as inherent rights or liberties and that all rights are arbitrary and subject to the whims of the group or the state. This is false. I have written extensively in the past on inherent rights, inborn psychological contents and natural law, referencing diverse luminaries, scientists and thinkers, including Thomas Aquinas, Carl Gustave Jung, Steven Pinker, etc., and I welcome readers to study my many articles on individualism. Freedom is an inborn conception with universally understood aspects. Period. No group or collective is more important than individual liberty. No artificial society has preeminence over the individuals within that society. As long as a person is not directly impeding the life, liberty, prosperity and privacy of another person, he should be left alone.

Maintain your rights; they do not hurt other people: PC cultists will invariably argue that every person, whether he knows it or not, is indirectly harming others with his attitude, his beliefs, his refusal to associate, even his very breathing. “We live in a society”, they say, “and everything we do affects everyone else…”. Don’t take such accusations seriously; these people do not understand how freedom works.

(I know because a beautiful young woman bought me a t-shirt that says “#nofilter”. And, my friends just shake their head at my crazy rantings, like ZAP, gold coins, and the various forms of tin foil hat conspiracy theory questions I ask.)

Our rights come from God or the Universe or our essential humanity.

They are not open to debate. And, “molon labe”, try to take them from me.

“…if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.” -Churchill, The Second World War, vol. 1, The Gathering Storm (London: Cassell, 1948, 272, on the British guarantee to Poland in Spring 1939.

Negative rights are basically peaceful.

Translated in to the language of children, since that seems to be the comprehension level of “We, The Sheeple” — don’t hurt people or take their stuff.

RANT: Gooferment Motors bailout has cost over 32B$ dollars so far

Not News: UAW Considering Plan to Milk the Unemployment System If It Calls a GM Strike
By Tom Blumer | October 24, 2015 | 10:30 PM EDT

*** begin quote ***

The news coming out of Detroit about near-deadline negotiations between the United Auto Workers union and General Motors has been pretty quiet. As the Sunday 11:59 p.m. deadline approaches, the Associated Press only has a four-paragraph blurb indicating that the union wants to get a richer package than it just garnered in negotiations with Fiat Chrysler. A Reuters report goes into detail about GM’s cost structure still being higher than that seen at Toyota’s and Nissan’s U.S. plants by about 15 percent and 31 percent, respectively. The New York Times is only carrying reports from the wires.

One note of substance about the UAW’s strategy covered at Bloomberg News — surely known to others following the industry who are filing bland reports — is that it plans to milk the unemployment insurance system in the event of a protracted strike.

To be clear, such a strike would appear to be very unlikely, if for no other reason than the fact that Americans remember that the Obama administration bailed out GM at a considerable cost several years ago. The final fully-loaded cost involved was $26.5 billion — not the $11.2 billion touted by the press last year. It’s safe to say that quite a few people would not take kindly to the idea of the primary beneficiaries of that unprecedented largesse walking out on their jobs when so many others are still unemployed and under-employed over six years after the most recent recession’s official end.

(Additionally, the linked $26.5 billion analysis appears not to have picked up the effect of the government permitting GM to carry forward $16 billion in tax losses incurred by the “old GM” into the “new GM” — even though “a business that undergoes a change in ownership usually has to forfeit the old company’s net operating losses,” which certainly happened during the bailout. At the statutory federal income tax rate of 35 percent, that decision alone cost the U.S. treasury $5.6 billion.)

Argh!

And the UAW isn’t happy?

Talk about Crony Capitalism.

Now they want to stick the taxpayer — via unemployment insurance — with the cost of their “strike”.

Guess no one remembers the current 18T+ national debt and the guesstimated 200T+ in unfunded liabilities that our posterity will have to deal with!

Argh!

Questions for Hillary Clinton
By Andrew P. Napolitano
October 22, 2015

*** begin quote ***

Mrs. Clinton, isn’t it true that you put the travel plans of Ambassador Stevens onto nongovernmental Internet venues? Isn’t it true that at the time you did that, he asked you for more security in Libya and you did not provide it? Mrs. Clinton, isn’t it true that to fight your secret war against the government of Gadhafi, you sent American arms into the hands of his opponents? And you did this without a congressional declaration of war, right?

I’d like to hear the answer to that one myself.

Argh!

If she was asked the Judge’s questions, then I think the game would be over and the plea dealing could begin.

The Gooferment has failed in this case to keep the faith and confidence of even the most clueless member of “We, The Sheeple”!

PBS Anchor: ‘Why Does It Matter’ Hillary Lied About a YouTube Video on Benghazi?
By Tim Graham | October 23, 2015 | 9:49 AM EDT

PBS NewsHour anchor Judy Woodruff came to bury the Benghazi committee on Thursday night’s program. “What difference does it make” seemed to be her Hillary-echoing mantra. Or in her case, it was “Why does it matter?” Lies? Coverups? Who cares about that?

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: End eminent domain!

Government takes family’s land near Area 51
By Glen Meek , Kyle Zuelke | kzuelke@8newsnow.com

*** begin quote ***

Private land overlooking the secret base at Area 51 has officially been taken from the owners and transferred to the United States Air Force.

Last month, the U.S. Air Force condemned the Groom Mine property when the family who owns it rejected a government buyout they felt was unjust.

The I-Team broke the story of the family’s fight with the government.

The Sheahan family, which until now owned the mine, knew they faced an uphill fight. They also expected the government would probably take the land through eminent domain even though the Sheahan’s owned it since Abe Lincoln was in the White House.

*** end quote ***

From Kelo, to this, in countless cases, the right of the people to be secure in their property is run rough shod over by the Gang called Gooferment!

Why do we or “We, The Steeple”tolerate this?

# – # – # – # – #

Now — literally with the stroke of a pen — a federal judge has turned the land over to the U.S. Air Force. The only part of the fight left for the Sheahan family now is compensation and what will happen to the equipment, buildings, even human remains, still at the site.

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Keep the current debt ceiling to squash the Warfare/Welfare State

Debt Ceiling Debate: Don’t Mention Warfare/Welfare State!
written by ron paul
sunday october 18, 2015

*** begin quote ***

The US Treasury’s recent announcement that the government will reach the debt ceiling on November 3 means Congress will soon be debating raising the government’s borrowing limit again. Any delay in, or opposition to, raising the debt ceiling will inevitably be met with hand-wringing over Congress’ alleged irresponsibility. But the real irresponsible act would be for Congress to raise the debt ceiling.

Cutting up its credit card is the only way to make Congress reduce spending. Anyone who doubts this should listen to the bipartisan whining over how sequestration has so drastically reduced spending that there is literally nothing left to cut. But, according to the Heritage Foundation, sequestration has only reduced spending from $3.6 trillion to $3.5 trillion. Only in DC would a less than one percent spending reduction be considered a draconian cut.

*** end quote ***

Let’s make Dave Ramsey the Treasury Secretary.

What would Dave’s advice about taking on more debt?

Will we as the USA ever get back to time when we are debt free?

How about we cut everything 2%?

Everyone takes a haircut.

And eliminate Crony Capitalism by cutting all “welfare” 5% per year for 20 years!

Just remember where it stands — the current 18T+ national debt and the guesstimated 200T+ in unfunded liabilities that our posterity will have to deal with!

Argh!
