Sure, I’m always open for debate. I don’t want big files by email for three reasons: (1) clogs my email box; (2) that clogs every email server in hte path; (3) it forces me to take the file that may “tie up” even a broadband line inconveniently. I especially don’t like microsoft’s and mcafee’s update service for that reason. I think these file hosting services are good for the big files. I usually encrypt anything I place anything somewhere that I don’t control — axcxypt or pkzip are my favorites for this task. Thanks for the comment.

I am interested to know why you say dont email them? Depends alot if your using your own email account or using a free send a file by email service such as ClickonSend.com

There is alot of reasons both for and against, the main one I can think of by sending a file by email is that its faster than downloading via http://.

Drawback is many people use free email accounts such as gmail. Some of these providers only provide small amount of space so if your sending a 150mb music video you might be out of luck.

Then thats when you should use free file hosting service like ClickonSend.comthat allow you to upload/send/download with your friends and colleagues.
