RANT: Social Security Disability is a joke

Monday, August 29, 2016

Here’s a personal rant.

From PERSONAL experience.

Social Security Disability pays a maximum of a little over 1k$ with a five month “waiting period”.

She earned about 4k$ and paid Soc Sec’s taxes on that.

So, if it was a real “insurance  company”, then that “policy” would have been terrible.

A true disability policy would replace the lost earnings.

The victim in the morality play is screwed.

And, everyone should NOT depend upon it for anything but “chump change”.

Louisiana Officials Demand That Self-Reliant Locals Stop Surviving the Flood Without Permission

“So as we are headed back home from the River Center in Baton Rouge volunteering our nursing services Dawn and I have come to the conclusion that neither of us WILL EVER volunteer or donate to the RED CROSS. The Red Cross basically takes over the shelters and starts refusing clothes, donations and various volunteer services UNLESS they are previously contracted. So what does that mean….well, 60 boxes of doughnuts were discarded this morning becuase the delivery vendor was not in contract, hot meals were refused becuase the entity providing wasn’t contracted, and medical supplies including medications were trashed for same reason. Clothes that were “donated” needed to be left on the street unless they were “furnished” by Red Cross. As of tomorrow, the shelter we were at will be completely over taken by the Red Cross other than the medical area because they couldnt have the actual room since LSU has a contract with state to provide medical care. Its sad when the military police were helping to “protect” the medical areas from the red cross when there are so many other issues at hand. Anyway, next time to want to donate or volunteer your services, do your homework.”

Sorry, but “neighbors helping neighbors” is the best fastest most cost effective help that can be delivered.

And, “We, The Sheeple” need to wake up — Gooferment is the problem!

TINFOILHAT: What is the FDA and various politicians role with EpiPen?

For my daughter, the EpiPen is a lifeline, not a luxury

*** begin quote ***

The disgraceful 461% increase in the price of this vital medication is a symptom of a system where corporate greed takes precedence over public health

*** and ***

This month, pharmaceutical company, Mylan, crowed that they smashed second-quarter expectations; with earnings of $2.56bn, up 8% from the year before. Their CEO’s salary has ballooned 671% over the past eight years. The corporation was able to accomplish this in part, because they are the maker of a medical device called the EpiPen, which delivers a life-saving drug to stop an anaphylactic allergy attack. The company has raised the price of this medication 461% since 2007. Mylan’s latest announcement – that it would offer various new pricing concessions to families on lower incomes and those who have to pay out of pocket, cannot alter this stark fact.

*** end quote ***

Now before we take the “capitalist pigs” out and lynch them, can we make some inquiries?

1. Is this the only epi pen on the market?

2. Is it patented? If so, how many years left?

3. How is the FDA involved in this process? How much did / does Mylan spend on regulatory compliance?

4. Has there been any “political” involvement?

5. Does a corporation have to “justify” it’s prices? (In a truly free market, the “invisible hand” would prompt supply from competitors very quickly!)

I’d like answers before “we” “hang” them!

All planners need to do is place the bays at a 45 degree angle, which cuts down the turning circle required and therefore needs a smaller access lane, freeing up more space for parking.

I find this fascinating.

Large?

Peplos Republic of Nu Jerzee has some HUGE ones.

I’d imagine that this would be an easy update.

Wanna bet that it’s not permitted by zoning codes!!!

The Fifty State Solution
By Jim Cox
August 20, 2016

*** begin quote ***

Disgusted by the prospect of Hillary Clinton and/or Donald Trump having the power of the presidency? I certainly am. And for full disclosure here, I don’t think any individual should have the powers that have accrued to the president over this country’s development. As has often been stated, “It’s not the abuse of power, it’s the power to abuse” that we should worry about. Even with some substitute candidates we’d still face the power to abuse problem.

*** end quote ***

I am a firm believer in “secession” as a solution to all our political problems.

Of course, unwinding the Federal Gooferment’s knots would be a challenge, if the political elite would permit it. Argh!

Clearly imho Texas, Alaska, Hawaii, Utah, North Dakota, and New Hampshire have substantial support and have taken some steps to facilitate it.

Who will be the first out?

RANT: “Academic Zika Virus”

Beware the Academic Zika Virus
By Thomas DiLorenzo
August 20, 2016

*** begin quote ***

By now just about everyone has heard of the zika virus, transmitted by mosquitos, which is said to cause brain damage in children.  As worrisome as this is, an even bigger brain damage threat to young people is what I call the academic zika virus, transmitted by left-wing, politically-correct “educators.”  There are exceptions, but undergraduate education in America has become one big socialist indoctrination academy that fills students’ heads with cultural Marxist myths, superstitions, and falsehoods while inculcating an infantile culture that teaches students to run crying to “safe rooms” if a dissenting voice should somehow appear on campus.  All of this can be yours for a mere 50 grand a year at many universities.

*** end quote ***

Yup, it’s a meme. An idea that spreads like gene. And the American “Universities” are the mosquito that transmits it.

The fact that people send their children to these “schools” to be infected is another parallel with Zika.

Argh!

Wonder when people will smarten up or it’s already too late.

Sigh!

TINFOILHAT: A false-flag candidate?

IS TRUMP DELIBERATELY THROWING THE ELECTION TO HILLARY CLINTON?
AUGUST 15, 2016 | TYLER DURDEN | ZERO HEDGE

*** begin quote ***

Donald Trump is a false-flag candidate. It’s all an act, one that benefits his good friend Hillary Clinton and the Democratic party that, until recently, counted the reality show star among its adherents. Indeed, Trump’s pronouncements – the open racism, the demagogic appeals, the faux-populist rhetoric – sound like something out of a Democratic political consultant’s imagination, a caricature of conservatism as performed by a master actor.

*** end quote ***

This is certainly not beyond the realm of plausibility.

Given his flip flop on NATO.

And, his avoidance of hitting HRC on the issues that resonate with Joesixpack — it’s the economy stupid.

One can only wonder.

POLITICAL: Early voting is a bad public policy

Ongoing Efforts at Stealing Elections?
AmmoLand.com
August 16, 2016

*** begin quote ***

Early voting is a bad public policy that increases costs, increases the likelihood of fraud, and confuses voters – leading to depressed voter turnout. It is absurd and dishonest to suggest racism being behind the sensible reform of cutting early voting down from a ridiculous 35 days before Election Day.

*** end quote ***

“If voting made any difference they wouldn’t let us do it.” ― often incorrectly attributed to American humorist Mark Twain ― but very very true imho!

Unfortunately, an election is “an advanced auction of stolen goods”.

And, if we “must” participate in this fraud and theft, then let’s make it “honest”.

I’m beginning to think that the “democratic process” is not the best way to come to intelligent “pubic policy”.

I don’t understand how in India everyone has a photo id to vote. But we can’t have that here.

I seen cases in the press, when every once in a while, the truth leaks thru, that at least one person voted for BHO several times in at least three states.

Argh!

Never mind the TV shows, like Leno’s Jay-walkings, where the average voter is plain old dumb and ignorant and happy to be that way.

There has to be a better way!

Argh!

SOCIALISM IN REAL TIME: Venezuela’s Economic Turmoil Has Brought Malaria Back

*** begin quote ***

With Venezuela’s economy in tatters, at least 70,000 people from all walks of life have been streaming into a mining region to hunt for gold in watery pits. It is a perfect breeding ground for the mosquitoes that spread malaria.

Then, with the disease in their blood, the miners return home to cities where there is often no medicine and little fumigation, and they have passed the disease on to tens of thousands more people and left entire towns desperate for help.

Venezuela was the first nation in the world to be certified by the World Health Organization for eradicating malaria in its most populated areas, beating the United States and other developed countries to that milestone in 1961.

*** end quote ***

When it’s said that “Socialism kills”, that is MORE than just an editorial about personal responsibility and incentives.

In this particular example, it was about a disease that had been beaten but came back with the poor economy.

Argh!

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: DEA and the FDA are OTL

DEA’s Hypocritical Marijuana Decision Ignores The Evidence
Emily Willingham,   CONTRIBUTOR

*** begin quote ***

Relying on the fear tactics and uninformed attitudes of a century ago, the DEA—reportedly leaning heavily on the FDA’s conclusions about cannabis—has rejected a 5-year-old petition to reclassify the drug from Schedule I, which lists drugs like heroin, to Schedule II, which includes oxycodone.

Whether or not the decision helps or harms patients in the long run remains unclear, but it certainly reflects a dangerous and hypocritical throwback attitude about cannabis that will only add to distrust of governmental oversight agencies, making their decisions look like political or moral judgments rather than being evidence based.

*** end quote ***

The “(pseudo) War on (some) Drugs” is basically dishonest.

Intellectually, legally, and morally.

How can anyone say that Marijuana has no medicinal value?

How can they ban (some) “drugs” when they had to pass Constitutional Amendment to ban and urban alcohol?

How can they deny people the freedom to put whatever they want into their own bodies?

Argh!
