Pictured: The giant escalators that China installed to save tourists the effort of hiking up mountains

The rise and rise of mountainside escalators continues in China.
We previously reported on a 688-metre-long (2,260ft) escalator being installed at scenic Enshi Canyon, Hubei province.
Now China has built a 1,100ft (350-metre) escalator costing $2.2 million/£1.6million that takes visitors up Tianyu Mountain in Zhejiang Province – and it even sprays mist on them to keep them cool.

What has the USA built lately? Planes that are defective, cars that burst into flames, roads that are barely drivable.
Where are our pyramids?
IMHO it starts with Gooferment debt, Gooferment Skrules, and a lack of visionary engineering talent.
It’s a national disgrace that the only thing that seems to grow is the Military Industrial Complex’s big budget weapons and Big Pharma’s killer “vaccines”!

Hawaii man trapped in 15ft remote forest ravine after bridge collapsed reveals ingenious way he survived
By James Cirrone For Dailymail.Com

A 41-year-old father-of-two had to be put on a ventilator after he miraculously survived being stuck in a 15 foot deep ravine for multiple nights without food.
Ian Goodsell, who lives on the big island of Hawaii, was crossing an old bridge near a forest off Kamaili Road when it collapsed underneath him, KITV reported.
‘He fell into a ravine about 15 feet deep and was in there for three nights,’ said Garrett Goodsell, Ian’s brother.

‘If you’re gonna go hiking, and this wasn’t necessarily a hiking trail, and even more so if you’re gonna go out there, make sure you stick to the trails, as much as possible,’ Volpe said. ‘Don’t hike alone, make sure you let people know where you’re going and kind of when you expect to be back.’

Seems obvious advice.
Where was his EDC, a daypack, and a phone? And, without his anti-seizure meds in his pocket!
It’s not “ingenious” to use a shirt to catch water.
He was just lucky.

Kamala Harris Vows Death Tax Increase
Meagan Dean | Sep 06, 2024
*** begin quote ***
Vice President Kamala Harris is on record in support of a Death Tax hike, including plans to impose a second Death Tax by taking away stepped-up basis when parents die.
Harris’ plans to increase the Death Tax are yet another example of the candidate’s willingness to punish hardworking Americans for their success, this time punitively hitting families experiencing the death of a loved one.
Under current law, the cost basis of assets passing directly to heirs receives a “step-up” to its fair market value. Without stepped-up basis, family-owned businesses would be stranded with a massive tax on unrealized gains after the passing of the owner.
Harris has not been shy in taking ownership of Biden-Harris FY 2025 budget, noting in a March post on X that the budget plan was jointly put forward by her and President Joe Biden.
*** end quote ***
I guess that small family farms and small family businesses are her target!
I can’t imagine that any of the D’s have any knowledge of economics. Certainly demonstrate a lack of understanding of the basics.
What do they think that people will have to do when the owner dies to pay these “thefts”!
The Death Tax is one of the spectacularly unfair taxes. Paid taxes all your life and the Gooferment politicians and bureaucrats take another bite when you die.

Rikers guard saves 1-year-old child choking on Dorito in jail’s visiting room: ‘The baby was turning blue’
By Tina Moore and Zoe Hussain
Published Sep. 14, 2024, 8:33 a.m. ET

A baby’s visit to Rikers Island took a frightening turn last week when the child started choking on a chip — prompting the city’s Boldest to leap into action to save him.
The 1-year-old began turning blue after swallowing a Dorito around 7:40 p.m. Sunday in one of the jail’s visitation areas, where his mom, Savanah Webb, had just finished seeing an inmate.
One correction officer noticed little Demyri Webb struggling.
*** and ***
So he pushed his pinky down into the child’s throat even farther — until he felt the chip move.
“The baby started to wheeze, which told me air was moving in and out,” he said.
Then Demyri spit up, and Barbosa knew the child was in the clear.
*** end quote ***
Great situational awareness.
Heroic, even though his life was not in jeopardy, who would want live with the memory of a child dying in your arms.
I guess he could have opened and airway with a pocket knife. Guess that was then next step after the pinkie try.
Not sure that I would have done it better. And, what about the other people standing around watching. Surprised no one videoed it.
Well done Santos Barbosa, well done.
“… … and this is a weaker argument that is stronger than it appears. Chinese Obligation. The Chinese have a saying that saving a life incurs a two way debt. The one saved owes their life to their savior; doing less would be ungrateful. The one saving owes the saved their continued help lest the save be in vain; doing less would be wasteful of the original act.” — brainy character “Brian” in CHURCH 10●19●62 Volume 1 Page 223

Tayler Hansen Loses YouTube Account Days After He Is Mentioned in a DOJ Indictment as the Victim of an Alleged Crime
by Jim Hoft Sep. 7, 2024 7:30 am
*** begin quote ***
On Wednesday, the Biden-Harris Regime announced it was launching a “whole government action” to purge so-called ‘Russian propaganda’ and ‘disinformation’ ahead of the 2024 election.
Biden accused Russia of a sustained effort to influence the upcoming election, according to CNN and NBC News.
Then, on Wednesday afternoon, the Department of Justice announced that employees from Russia Today’s media outlet had invested in a $10 million scheme to create and distribute content to U.S. audiences with hidden Russian government messaging.
Crooked AG Merrick Garland announced, “The Justice Department will not tolerate attempts by an authoritarian regime to exploit our country’s free exchange of ideas in order to covertly further its own propaganda efforts, and our investigation into this matter remains ongoing.”
*** and ***
According to the Biden DOJ, the RT employees set up Tenet Media, a media startup company linked to conservative heavyweights Tim Pool, Benny Johnson, Dave Rubin, Lauren Southern, and Tayler Hanson.
These leading conservative talkers quickly condemned the allegations by Joe Biden’s lawless DOJ.
But the damage was done, and the DOJ tied these prominent conservatives to their latest “Russian scandal.”
It didn’t take long before these conservatives, despite being innocent, were targeted by the social media elites.
On Friday, YouTube banned Tayler Hansen’s account. Tayler had hundreds of videos of his undercover work over the years. Now it is gone. They don’t even warn you so you can save your videos!
*** end quote ***
Sure, and it just so happens that this is right in front of the election.
How about holding announcements until you’ve won in court?
Just because Merrick Garland says something, it must be true.

After Police Didn’t Take it Seriously He Exposed an International Bike Theft Ring on His Own
By Andy Corbley – Aug 30, 202
*** begin quote ***
As one might imagine, the police in counties like Sonoma, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz didn’t listen to him. “We’re not Interpol” they would say.
*** and ***
Hance had been clued into the Colorado bike smuggling ring with a Modus Operandi extremely similar to that of the one he believed was behind the thefts all over California, but was even more bold—bike thieves at one point smashed through the front of a bike shop with a van, loaded up the van with a dozen bikes, and drove off.
As to the California smugglers, Hance believes the man at the end of the trail is operating out of Jalisco, and Hance’s sleuthing turned up perhaps the chief fence on this side of the border. Victoriano Romero—who was then subsequently raided by police and found to be in possession of bikes similar to ones reported stolen on Bike Index, along with $200,000 cash in a strongbox in his San Jose auto shop.
The arrest of Romero hasn’t disrupted the network, and Hance still sees that the Jalisco seller routinely offers high-end bikes for sale on his social media pages: accessible only because Hance uses a VPN to funnel his connection through Mexico.
*** end quote ***
Maybe the politicians and bureaucrats of Sonoma, Santa Clara, and Santa Cruz should put Brian Hance in as their Police Commissioner?
I can’t imagine a bigger slap in the face than a private individual cracking international crime rings.

ABC’s David Muir Lied About Crime Falling Under Biden-Harris
John R. Lott, Jr. | Sep 11, 2024
*** begin quote ***
DAVID MUIR: “President Trump, as you know, the FBI says overall violent crime is coming down in this country, …”
In fact, Trump was correct about the increase in crime under Biden. While violent crime fell by 17 percent under Trump, Biden has seen it rise by 43 percent.
Muir doesn’t understand what the FBI is measuring. The FBI counts the number of crimes reported to police. Trump was right that less than half of police departments are now giving that data to the FBI, but, more importantly, Trump was discussing what was happening to total crime, not just the number of crimes reported to police.
There are two measures of crime: One, the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports (UCR), counts the number of crimes reported to police yearly.
The other, the Bureau of Justice Statistics’ National Crime Victimization Survey, asks about 240,000 people each year whether they have been victims of crime, in an attempt to measure both reported and unreported crimes.
We know that crime victims report only about 40 percent of violent crimes and 30 percent of property crimes to police.

Like the Covid “vaccine” injury stats, the Gooferment has put their collective “thumb” on the scale.
Sigh!
Like economic data on inflation, they redefine the yardstick.
Argh!
All to make themselves look good.
Makes you not want to believe anything that they say.
Why report “unemployment nubers”? Just report Social Security Tax Receipts. Because they want to fudge the numbers.
Argh!
We know they don’t enforce the “felon in possession of a firearm”! Why not?
