WRITING: Using a blog for serial with monetization

Based on my experience with the Church story, I conclude that one could create a blog with a serial. Monetize it with ads. Sell collateral material. It’s possible. Not sure I could do it. But I can see how it could be done. Maybe I’ll repurpose my existing effort after I’m done into a test case.

    It certainly raises an eyebrow…particularly since I don’t know that it has ever been done. I don’t scan the internet that much, but I haven’t seen anything like you describe. In as sense, the news sites are similar in concept…people keep coming back to see what the ‘new news’ is…and the site benefits from the hits, through their advertisers. But some type of ‘serial’ story would have more of an incentive to keep people coming back. It is probably worth the effort to try, as the risk vs reward ratio is probably skewed to the ‘reward’ side.
