Fearful NJ Parents Freak Out, Trigger Lockdown Over School Play Prop
Posted by Bob Owens on February 12, 2015 at 2:11 pm

*** begin quote ***

A prop gun sparked a brief lockdown at Northern Valley Regional High School in Demarest, New Jersey, police say.

A student came to school on Knickerbocker Road this morning carrying a prop rifle for the school’s production of Hello Dolly, police said.

Some parents saw her and thought the gun was real, and they alerted authorities.

Police identified the girl within 10 minutes of responding to the scene.

*** end quote ***

It took ten minutes to id her?

Seriously!

In any event, how many would have been dead in those minutes (i.e., time to respond and time to find).

<<Remember the bumpersticker: “When seconds count, the police are minutes away.>>

And, where were the brainiac parents?

After calling the police, if my child was in that school, then I’d have been over there to “speak” with “gun toter”.

Assuming it was pointed at anyone, it would have been a short conversation.

Assuming it was, I have done my best imitation of Richard Marvin Butkus. (Arguably the meanest middle linebacker to play “American” football.)

Instead, the parents were content to go on their way and leave it to the police to clean up the mess?

Pepuls Republik of Nu Jerzee is sadly going in the wrong direction.

DARWIN: Grabbing the elevator cables in free-fall and slide down

The Doors: Break On Through
2013 Darwin Award Nominee
Confirmed True by Darwin

*** begin quote ***

It is reasonable that elevator doors should open with a determined effort, otherwise people are physically trapped inside elevators when the power fails. It is unreasonable to protect idiots from themselves no matter the extreme. And idiots are made, not born — the person in question had voluntarily swallowed a mix of decision-impairing substances bringing his BAC to 0.17% with a Xanax chaser. Unfamiliar with Xanax, this writer thumbed through the Urban Dictionary and found Xanax described as one of the more addictive benzos with withdrawal effects including psychosis and epileptic-type seizures.
Summary? A DARWIN AWARD is granted to Chad Wolfe, while a STELLA AWARD for legal stupidity is awarded to the Estate of Chad Wolfe.

*** end quote ***

Personally, I LOVE the Darwin awards.

Maybe it’s uncharitable, un-Christian, and un-Jasper-like, but I find it hard to be sympathetic to fools.

I have submitted many stories, but only really came close once.

It would be the highlight of my internet “career” to have a winner.

While I’d pray for the topic of the story, stupidity is it’s own reward.

Argh!

RANT: Stupidity should cost

Seems an appropriate diktat. Don’t ask us to pay for your stupidity. Out there EVERYONE knows about flash floods.

Now about these mountain and water rescues?

Same rules should apply. The Gooferment is there to fix your mistakes.

Personal Responsibility!

RANT: Afghanistan = nothing to show for it

Monday, June 24, 2013

“We are leaving Afghanistan after 12 years with nothing to show for it but trillions of dollars wasted and thousands of lives lost. Afghanistan is a devastated country with a weak, puppet government—and now we negotiate with those very people we fought for those 12 years, who are preparing to return to power! Still we learn nothing.”

— Ron Paul

Imagine if the Sheeple and Clovers could have seen who the ONLY anti-war candidate was.

And, he’s the “loon”?

As Clint Eastwood said: “I know you were against the war in Iraq, and that’s okay. But you thought the war in Afghanistan was OK. You know, I mean — you thought that was something worth doing. We didn’t check with the Russians to see how did it — they did there for 10 years.”

GOVEROTRAGEOUS: Stockholm Parking Tickets?

CRIME
PARKING TICKETS ISSUED TO CARS DESTROYED IN VIOLENT SWEDEN RIOTS — CONSERVATIVE SITE POSTS PROOF
May. 27, 2013 7:45am Sharona Schwartz

*** begin quote ***

For the past week, immigrant youths rioted in Sweden. Riots that included the breaking of windows, rock-throwing at police, destruction of property and burning of cars. Swedish police tell the Associated Press that some 220 crimes were reported to them during the violent rampage.

But instead of cracking down on the perpetrators, authorities were busy issuing parking tickets on cars that were burned by the rioters. The conservative Swedish news site Fria Tider reports that owners of some cars destroyed in the riots were fined for parking illegally, while the Swedish police force described a low-key approach to the rioters themselves. Its reporter caught a parking enforcer in the act of issuing a ticket, and shot a photo, published above the headline “Parking Tickets Issued on Wrecks While Stockholm Burns.”

You just have to laugh!

Get your car destroyed by lawless thugs and a parking ticket too!

Wonder when it ail happen here?

RANT: Multiple DUIs

Thursday, May 31, 2012

Instead of focusing on the average joe who has a beer with dinner, this is the problem! 4 DUIs. Why is he out of jail?

Of course, then the problem would be solved and no need for “checkpoints” as revenue raising.

CHIEF RAYMOND J. HAYDUCKAAdvisory: Cops catch drunk driver after near collision and chase

Hi fjohn reinke,

A drunk driver, who had been convicted four times previously for driving while under the influence, was arrested Saturday morning after nearly striking a police car and leading officers on a chase. The incident began at 1:30am as Sergeant Frank Lombardo was driving east on Route 522. William Campbell age 52 of Franklin Park was operating his 1994 Ford pickup truck south on North Umberland Way. He entered the intersection of Route 522 without stopping and nearly ran into Sergeant Lombardo’s marked patrol car. The sergeant had to slam on his brakes to avoid a collision.

The sergeant then activated his lights and siren attempting to stop the vehicle. The pickup truck accelerated and struck two curbs as it winded through the South Ridge Townhomes development. Campbell then pulled onto New Road and headed east. He turned off of New Road into a commerical development accelerating behind some buildings. Sergeant Lombardo pursued him behind the buildings where Campbell made a U-turn and came back at the officer. Sergeant Lombardo was able to get his vehicle out of the way as Campbell pulled pass. Campbell then pulled up to the rear of one of the commercial buildings and parked his vehicle. He stumbled out of the driver’s seat without explanation. Sergeant Lombardo was able to arrest Campbell without further incident.

Campbell, who in addition to four driving while under the influence convictions has ten license suspensions, was charged with driving while under the influence and eluding. He was transported to police headquarters and processed. His bail was set at $25,000. He was lodged in the Middlesex County Correction Center in default of bail.

RANT: What’s with FBC?

Monday, December 26, 2011

Looks like Fox Business Channel has taken off the week between Christmas and New Years.

What there is no business going on?

Shows how they are not serious. They’re just entertainment. Not a viewer’s partner to be taken seriously.

Argh!
