Chris Matthews: Why Doesn’t Obama Just Release The Birth Certificate?

*** begin quote ***

On Monday night’s edition of “Hardball,” host Chris Matthews talked about putting the birth certificate controversy surrounding President Obama to rest.

“Why has the president himself not demanded they put out the original documents?” Matthews wonders.

“If it exists, why not put it out?” Chris Matthews asks.

*** end quote ***

One reason: It keeps his opponents off balance. If they mention it, they are branded as a “birther”, “tin foil hat”, or “conspiracy nut”.

A more likely reason is that there is a “disqualifier” or an embarrassment.

I just don’t know.

So I call myself a “proof-er”.

Why is Obama spending time, money and effort to frustrate ANY disclosure?

How shameful that an elected officeholder flies in to town on a publicly bought jet, is escorted and secured by probably hundreds of publicly paid police, to give a speech in a publicly owned facility, and the event is not open to the public. What a sham. I hope someone is reimbursing the taxpayers for the costs of this partisan campaign appearance.

Obama blasts lies, disinformation

By GLENN THRUSH | 8/29/10 7:11 PM EDT Updated: 8/29/10 9:17 PM EDT

*** begin quote ***

Williams, sitting under a tent in a rain-soaked New Orleans, where the First Family commemorated the fifth anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, asked Obama why so many people were uncertain about something so fundamental as his faith.

“I can’t spend all of my time with my birth certificate plastered on my forehead,” quipped Obama, who took a deep breath to gather his thoughts when asked if the poll reflected his inability to communicate with voters.

Don’t look, birthers: Obama’s passport

*** begin quote ***

Here’s something new for the birthers to chew over: President Barack Obama’s passport. Says he was born in Hawaii! But the White House has strategically fuzzed out certain data, so the mystery continues.

*** end quote ***

This is just another effort by BHO44 and his handlers to do everything in their power to obfuscate and evade answering the questions over his legitimacy. Calling his detractors “birthers” and other pejoratives does NOT answer the outstanding questions.

A blurry passport means nothing. It’s just more nail in the coffin of truth, transparency, and eventual exposure. It’s just more smoke ‘n’ mirrors.

Why does someone spend more than a million dollars to hide documents from his past?

It’s not just the birth certificate; athough that was the first deception. It’s the all the records. Where their is smoke; there’s fire.

Is this his new Presidential passport? The one with diplomatic immunity. Think he went to the post office, with two pictures, his birth certificate, and 175$ and waited a month like you have to? Argh!

RANT: BHO44 talks on economics

Wednesday, August 18, 2010

Is anyone listening to this?

Is he serious? “Social Security is NOT in crisis.” And the stock market diversification is “risky” because in 2006 the market went down.

Social Security is generally stipulated to be a negative return on investment of between 1 and 3 per cent. Compare that to the average 8 to 10 percent over any decade. (Even if you put your thumb on the scale, there are only 3 out 20 plus ten year periods where the return is negative or below 5%. Argh!)

And, why do we have “enforced savings”? Are people to stupid to balance their current and future needs?

Stossel does a much better job of skewering the economically illiterate BHO44!

*** begin quote ***

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid accused Sharron Angle, who’s challenging Reid’s re-election bid in Nevada, of “raiding” the Social Security trust fund because Angle has talked about phasing out Social Security. There are two problems with that statement—as Reid must know: First, there never has been a trust fund! Your FICA tax payments were not saved or invested. Social Security transferred them to current retirees. Second, in return for IOUs, Congress raided Social Security’s budget surplus every year and spent like any other tax revenue.

Successful Bailout? by Don Boudreaux on August 2, 2010

*** begin quote ***

Second – and more importantly – the chief economic case against the bailout was not that huge infusions of taxpayer funds and special exemptions from bankruptcy rules could not make G.M. and Chrysler profitable. Of course they could. Instead, the heart of the case against the bailout is that it saps the life-blood of entrepreneurial capitalism. The bailout reinforces the debilitating precedent of protecting firms deemed ‘too big to fail.’ Capital and other resources are thus kept glued by politics to familiar lines of production, thus impeding entrepreneurial initiative that would have otherwise redeployed these resources into newer, more-dynamic, and more productive industries.

Thousands show up at Tulsa food pantry Friday
By MIKE AVERILL World Staff Writer

*** begin quote ***

The message that was circulating was that the food boxes were free for anyone, however they’re actually restricted to families with children younger than 18 and there is an income restriction as well.

Through the program families can receive one 30-pound food box for each child and one box for every two adults. Families also receive one household box (toilet paper, soap, shampoo, toothpaste) for every two people younger than the age of 18 in the household. Families may receive these boxes each week.

Iron Gate receives 250 food boxes and 125 household boxes each week that it distributes Fridays and Saturdays in conjunction with its regular grocery distribution program. The program runs through September.

*** and ***

“The need seems to be overwhelming, not only in Tulsa but in the surrounding towns. We need to figure out how to better distribute these boxes. Other agencies are sending people to us for food,” she said.

Doesn’t anyone see a problem with this?

These people are “welfare farmers”. Now there are probably needy cases in there. But, how many has the Gooferment trained to depend on handouts?

Feed “stray cats” and don’t be surprised when you have more “stray cats”.

These are people, who should be accorded basic human dignity. They need “help”; not a “handout”.

That can’t be done by the Gooferment; it can only be accomplished by an energized empowered community — usually a church or a fraternal organization — who will invest time, money, resources, and most importantly attention to these people as people.

The crisis of the modern welfare state is a crisis of government, and it is more than that. Too many private charities and foundations dispense aid on the basis of what feels good rather than what works. As a result, they end up providing, instead of points of light, alternative shades of darkness. Too many act like the arrogant individuals criticized by F. Some insurers stop writing new coverage for kids
Ahead of requirement to cover kids with medical problems, some insurers drop out

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida issues about 9,000 to 10,000 new policies a year that only cover children. Vice president Randy Kammer said the company’s experts calculated that guaranteeing coverage for children could raise premiums for other individual policy holders by as much as 20 percent.

“We believe that the majority of people who would buy this policy were going to use it immediately, probably for high cost claims,” said Kammer. “Guaranteed issue means you could technically buy it on the way to the hospital.”

Romney care, Obama care, any kind of care … politicians and bureaucrats always make the same mistake — static analysis.

As a fat old white guy injineer, one of the first classes I took was “Static Analysis”. OK tough enough. Immediately followed by “Dynamic Analysis”. Now we let things move. Way way way more difficult.

So to in economics, people react to what is done, or not done, or even what is threatened to be done, and begin to act in their own self-interest. As any reasonable person would do!

That’s why, after the politicians raised the millionaires’ tax in Maryland, suddenly the next year there are a lot less millionaires in Maryland.

Do these politicians and bureaucrats think that they are the only ones who can read the tea eaves, make a plan, and carry it out?

MONEY: The Gooferment’s Long Term Care Insurance in Obamacare

Friday, July 23, 2010

*** begin quote ***

Comparing CLASS to private sector LTC coverage. We’re pleased that the government is attempting to offer long-term care insurance, but CLASS doesn’t eliminate the need for you to buy a policy from private health insurers. First, CLASS’s daily benefit of $50 or $75 is woefully insufficient, considering that the average daily cost of a nursing home is $206, according to the 2010 Genworth Cost of Care survey, and that licensed in-home health aides today cost an average of $19/hour. Making these figures even worse is the fact that they are projected to be $268 and $21, respectively, when CLASS benefits become available in 2016. And unlike long-term care insurance you purchase, the government’s program is not a contract; benefits and costs can change.

*** and ***

In the meantime, do not let the notion of the CLASS program cause you to delay getting your own LTC insurance if your planner has recommended it for you. It’s unlikely that CLASS will meet all your LTC insurance needs, but even if it does, you should buy LTC insurance today to get the protection you need; you can always cancel the policy later, after you sign up for CLASS.

*** end quote ***

IMHO, getting old sucks. Pattie wiped out her little bit of lifetime savings in under a year. My Mom was forking out 10k$/month for “help” as she struggled to stay in her apartment. Anyone listening should have sufficient appropriate insurance.

It’s a funny peculiar calculation. If you have nothing, you need nothing; you get Medicaid. If you have 10M$, you need nothing; you’ll self-insure. Anything in the middle, you HAVE to have insurance. Where the middle starts and ends is arts not science. Argh!

Words matter – listen carefully to our current administration

*** begin quote ***

In her article for “First Things” magazine, Ashley Samelson, International Programs Director for the Becket Fund for Religious Liberty, stated, “To anyone who closely follows prominent discussion of religious freedom in the diplomatic and political arena, this linguistic shift is troubling: “The reason is simple. Any person of faith knows that religious exercise is about a lot more than freedom of worship. It’s about the right to dress according to one’s religious dictates, to preach openly, to evangelize, to engage in the public square. Everyone knows that religious Jews keep kosher, religious Quakers don’t go to war, and religious Muslim women wear headscarves-yet “freedom of worship” would protect none of these acts of faith.”

One can see the silent assault on “religion” by the growing secular gooferment. They will tolerate no rival for the people’s affection. Like the scifi Highlander “There can be only one!”, it will kill off all it’s rivals.

Health law risks turning away sick
By Julian Pecquet – 07/01/10 07:13 PM ET

*** begin quote ***

The Obama administration has not ruled out turning sick people away from an insurance program created by the new healthcare law to provide coverage for the uninsured.

Critics of the $5 billion high-risk pool program insist it will run out of money before Jan. 1, 2014. That’s when the program sunsets and health plans can no longer discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions.

*** and ***

“Along with that, we can work with the states to adjust their benefit structure, the deductibles, the co-pays, the overall plan structure to address some of those cost drivers, again to help the plan make it to 2014, when it will no longer be needed.”

In addition, Popper said, many people won’t be able to afford to participate in the program since premiums will range between about $140 and $900 a month, depending on applicants’ age and where they live. HHS estimates that at least 200,000 people will be in the program at any one time. To be eligible, applicants have to be citizens or nationals of the United States or be lawfully present; have a pre-existing medical condition; and have been uninsured for at least six months before applying for the high-risk pool plan.

*** and ***

If it looks like too many people are signing up — states will get monthly updates on how many people they can cover with the money they have left — there’s always the option of turning people down.

The bill “does give the secretary authority to limit enrollment in the plan … nationally or on a state-by-state basis,” Popper said. “So that is present, but at this point, we’re starting with no one in the plan as of today … so we don’t see that happening anytime soon.”

*** end quote ***

One giant criticism of BHO44 and his Obamacare is that it had muddled objectives. Was it about “health”, “health care”, “health care insurance”, or something else. Us, tin foil hats, believe it’s the “something else”.

By not being specific about their objectives, they don’t have to be specific about their results. We, The People have allowed our elected representatives to get away with this muddled thinking. And, as such, we once again find ourselves faced with a confused mess. Argh!

I believe this is all about “control”. By centralizing one seventh of the economy, the politicians and bureaucrats are in control of our lives. By controlling “health care” and “health care insurance”, they control us.

Remember the three “laws” of political motivation: (1) reward your friends; (2) punish your enemies; and (3) feather your own nest. Clearly, this wins on all three fronts.

By controlling “health care” and “health care insurance”, they create a voting block. Look what Social Security and Medicare has done to create a “senior citizen” voting block for the Democratic Party. Look at Florida. Created by Social Security. That’s the power to reward yor friends — the incumbent politicians. Never mind the endless opportunities for graft, corruption and outright theft for the .

By controlling “health care” and “health care insurance”, they have won a war with the Catholic Church and Right To Life groups over abortion. The “sacrament” of the modern liberal feminist, enshrined by Roe v Wade, will now be fully funded to the abhorrence of Right To Life taxpaying advocates. That’s punishing your enemy — the Religious Right.

By controlling “health care” and “health care insurance”, they have created endless bureaucratic positions. Of course, to be filled by “them”, their friends ‘n’ family, and their supporters. And, created countless opportunities for lobbyists to fill their pockets as they create loopholes, exceptions, and prohibitions. That’s feathering, with some pretty comfortable feathers.

Silly Taxpayer, you didn’t think this was about anything as trivial as helping sick people now did you?

By pulling the Sheeple’s own wool over the Sheeple’s eyes, they are able to sheer the Sheeple some more.

See if the objective was “health”, “health care”, or “health care insurance”, then it would be relatively easy and cheap to address the issue. For “health”, address the root cause of poor health — we have to make it a national priority to find out what that was. (I’d say “gooferment skrules”, but that’s another story.) If it was “health care”, then perhaps better records, uniform forms, or — shocked hush — eliminating medical licensing. If it is was “health care insurance” slash cost, then we could change the tax law to make everyone their own subchapter S copr and make cost of earning a living deductible to all. If it is was “health care insurance” slash cost, then the gooferment could just buy poor people health insurance as part of the federal health insurance system. (Whoopi Goldberg had it right: “What the hell! I just want what you <Congressmen> got. <for health insurance>. Way to nail the issue, Whoopster!)

See it’s always about something else!

$7-a-gallon gas?
The folly of O’s oil-spill ‘fix’
Last Updated: 2:49 PM, June 18, 2010
Posted: 12:02 AM, June 18, 2010

*** begin quote ***

So what does global-warming legislation have to do with the oil spill?

Good question, because such measures wouldn’t do a thing to clean up the oil or fix the problems that led to the leak.

The answer can be found in Obama Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel’s now-famous words, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste — and what I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things that you think you could not do before.”

*** and ***

The logic linking cap-and-trade to the spill in the Gulf should frighten anyone who owns a car or truck. Such measures force up the price at the pump — Harvard Kennedy School’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs thinks it “may require gas prices greater than $7 a gallon by 2020″ to meet Obama’s stated goal of reducing emissions 14 percent from the transportation sector.

*** and ***

Emanuel was wrong. The administration shouldn’t view each crisis — including the oil spill — as an opportunity to be exploited, but as a problem to be addressed. And America can’t afford $7-a-gallon gas.

*** end quote ***

I think the should pass the cap ‘n’ tax bill.

And, when the economy tanks, and And, folks pay a Cnote for a fill up. And, they can’t afford to go to work.

There will be the revolution that these bozos want. And, like some French aristocrats found out the hard way, they may be the ones removed from the gene pool.

At least their crazy Socialist ideas will get a proper send off.

American will collapse under 7$ per gallon gas. The economy is build on cheap energy.

>I refer to the $20 billion commitment plus he obtained from BP.

Commitment? I’d call it extortion. So when does the litigation start. The stockholders, the dividend recipients, the British pensioners (from whence they get 20% of their pension), and to a lesser extent the workers were extorted to the tune of 20B$. If their liability was capped at 75M$, where does the BP CEO and team get off giving away the assets of the company? And to a political slush fund? The 911 fund was a disaster that we have only partially seen the facts. More money to be “expensed” by the politically connected.

As a lawyer, would you care to opine on under what principle of law he can extract such a “commitment”? If you were counsel to the BP CEO, would you advise him to pay off like a slot machine? If you were advising the stockholders, wouldn’t you sue?

>Perhaps Obama is a different type leader.

Leader? Sorry, but I haven’t seen ANY leadership out of him. Even on his “signature” items — porkulous and socialist health, he was like a disinterested third party. Lobbyists and backroom aides wrote the bills.

> He seems much like Teddy Rooseveelt.

He’s not “in the Arena”. He’s in campaign mode; still running for the job. Or reelection. Although, he is, like TR, killing folks. He’s expanded Bush’s Predator Drone program. Killing even American citizens!

> Speak softly and carry a large stick.

No speak and no stick. He’s just another corrupt Chicago politician. BP is his biggest contributor and long time benefactor of his Chief Of Staff Rahm. His background tells you a lot about him.

If he was a true leader, he’d have reached out to Sarah Palin for her expertise in regulating Oil Companies. She’d have told him that they “understate the truth”. If he was a real leader, he’d have installed Biden in Texas and asked the Bushes to assist him in “solving the problem”. If he was a real leader, he’d have engaged on Day One.

Sorry, but the only thing that needs to be kicked, is him. Out!

Not that McCain is a saint either. But Sarah would have been an asset to have in place. Not that she’s Joan of Arc either. I dislike BOTH political parties.

But when the Nation is in trouble, EVERYONE needs to be used. There’s no shame in not having all the answers. There’s plenty in not asking the right questions.

He’s yet another “empty suit”.

You were more correct yesterday!

Barack Obama Praises Kenya’s Draft Constitution Allowing Unlimited Abortions

*** begin quote ***

Nairobi, Kenya (LifeNews.com) — President Barack Obama has come under fire from pro-life members of Congress for his administration potentially illegally spending as much as $10 million promoting the new pro-abortion constitution in Kenya. Now, in a new interview, Obama himself carefully urged Kenya residents to support it.

Obama officials were thought to have spent $2 million but Rep. Chris Smith says that figure could exceed $10 million.

A new interview conducted Tuesday with the Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) has Obama actively promoting the constitution, which would have the effect of overturning the nation’s pro-life laws that prohibit most abortions.

Are you kidding me? This is a joke. Right!

Two or ten matters not. Why is Taxpayers’ Money being spent on this?

As a Pro-life Pro-choice fat old white guy injineer, I don’t want to pay for this immoral activity. Abortion is a horrible event. To have the Gooferment involved in it is abhorrent. It’s a terrible choice that a woman has to make. In a perfect world, we’d have lots of resources to make it unnecessary. (That’s the pro-life part of me!) In that perfect world, the Gooferment would have an interest in preserving the life of a future citizen. But we are far from perfect. The Gooferment should butt out because it can’t even find it’s own ass in dark closet! Best leave it to the woman and those she chooses to involve. (That’s the pro-choice part of me!)

Us, little L libertarians, are pro-choice on everything.

(1) Doesn’t OBH44 have enough to do here in this country?

(2) Why are we meddling in Kenya’s affairs?

(3) If he wants to run Kenya, he should grab his birth certificate and run for office there!

(4) As a pro-life, I object to using my tax dollars on something so morally offensive.

(5) As a pro-choicer, we in the USA should MYOB!
